Title: HOLY S**T!!!
Description: This could have gotten ugly.

like_light_to_the_flies - June 16, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
Okay, so our neighbors are having a Father's Day party. My Dad and brother were hanging out in their front lawn, just talking. Having a good time and stuff.

This insane drunk comes out from his house down the street and starts yelling at my Dad and neighbors, calling them out and stuff. My Dad gets pissed and all of a sudden, it looks like it's on.

So the insane drunk goes back to his house and just lays low for a bit. Then he starts yelling at them from his front lawn, calling my Dad out again.

So my Dad, our friend Steve-O, our neighbor, and our neighbor's friend start walking towards the guys house. The guy disappears into his garage and just leaves them all standing out on the street in front of his place.

Our neighbors come back after a bit, convinced nothing's happening. *Note. I'm watching all of this happen from my front porch* The next thing I know, my Dad disappears (he moved in closer to the guys house). You can hear my Dad talking loudly and stuff. Our friend Steve-O runs over there, stands there for all of five seconds, then comes running back to us.

At that moment, two sherrifs stop by and they start talking to our neighbors and stuff. So I decide, since my Dad's still talking to the guy, to go and check out what's going on with my brother. Before we get there, my Dad starts coming back to us and we asked what was happening.

My Dad says "He came out of his garage with a pistol. I'm just telling him 'Man, let's just do this thing and get it over with'. But he keeps backing away, saying he doesn't want to."

So we're like WTF? We go back to the sheriffs, then they pack up and go over to his place and started talking to him. After a while, they come on back up here and they start talking to us again.

We told them what happened and they told us that if it happens again, just let them know. My Dad, who sadly is more than a little drunk at this point, starts going off about how if he pulls it again and steps onto our property, or our neighbor's property, he's gonna be a dead man. Literally. *I would like to note during this whole time, since I don't trust drunks, I have a pistol and a loaded clip sitting on my bed. Just in case things get ugly.*

The cops know they'd only do it out of self-defense, so they don't exactly say not to, but advised us to at least call them before things get ugly. So we then got into a huge discussion about various scenarios and whether or not it would be within our rights to basically kill him. So we discussed that for a bit, then after the cops knew we knew what all we could do, they went ahead and left.

Oh, but really quick, our friend Steve-O's girlfriend, Shantee, went up to one of the sheriffs and asked if she could drive his car around the block. So he holds the car keys out with one hand, while you can clearly see his other hand around his pistol. I'm yelling at her, "Do you not see his hand on the gun?" when she kept asking if he would really let her drive it.

Okay. Yeah. Pretty weird, Man. I've still got adrenaline in my system from how suspensful it was getting. xD

Hanyoukai - June 16, 2008 03:28 AM (GMT)
Wow.
I'm glad everyone was all right.

I don't trust drunks, either, but I'm too scared to be anywhere near a gun.

Volital - June 16, 2008 03:28 AM (GMT)
LOL

Sorry, but...

LOL

like_light_to_the_flies - June 16, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
Okay.

Now, just to potentially make things worse, the guy's wife came over and is hanging out with my Dad and his neighbors. Everyone knows he knows where she went, and everyone's expecting him to go after her.

Which means everyone's sitting around, waiting for him to show up, and either get his ass beat or shot.

Okay. Latest update. I'm sure I'll be adding to this as events progress.

Man...this is one screwed up Father's Day.

Haiyato Berzerker - June 16, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
damn, good thing that didn't turn ugly...

Naraku. - June 16, 2008 11:12 AM (GMT)
I don't really care either about Father's Day, and no one in my family really knew it was Fathers day till this year, We usually celebrate on August the 8th.

That must be scary! My dad only got ugly with a neighbour and me. -.-

.....My mother's eye was shattered; Yes, HER EYE WAS BROKEN, a week ago by some fucking crackheads that wanted to call my family out.
Something that almost happened; means nothing.
Something that did happen; hurts.

Sorry about yer Moms eye...

Akizuki Yojiro - June 16, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
Sheesh..., where do u live, everyone is truing to pull a gun on one another.

Trush talk from a drunk its just bullshit going over to that house was not really smart.
Why no one called the cops from the beginning? I Don't know where you live but if its the USA well..., only solution IS to call the cops. Cuz think about, if your father went there and fought on that guys property you father would end up in court and gotten sued and would loose that case. If both of em fought on the street both would have been arrested find and community service -oh the fines are pretty ingestible LOL- and thats not the worst case scenarios

Thank god no one pulled a trigger!

Btw... if that guy would off shoot your father he would off got away with it even if he was on his parking lot.

So the fact that my Dad was five feet away from getting killed. That means nothing?

Or the fact that this guy is a violent asshole who knows perfectly well where we live, and might soon discover that my Dad is going to be gone all week for work, leaving me, my Mom, brother and sister alone while this guy easily wants to hurt, potentially kill him. And that he might actually come after us? That means nothing?

I beg to differ.

Dude, a restriction order isn't gonna stop this guy if he wants to come to our house in the middle of the night and beat/kill us. Why do you think my Dad was teaching my Mom how to use his pistol? Why my brother keeps a fully-loaded shotgun at the foot of this bed? Why do you think I keep a fully loaded pistol right beside my bed.

This dude if freaking insane. We all expect him to do something. And a restriction order isn't gonna stop him.

You realize that we're in the Twenty First century; right?

We're no longer in the time when crime was so much more simple nor are we in a time where insane fucks like the guy Trevor is dealing with would face death pentalty.

We live in a time when anyone can be a criminal, regardless of age.

No. This guy is that f**king insane. The guy's a raging alcholic who beats his wife and step-daughter on a regular basis. The guy's a drug addict. He's been to jail several times before.

He's really messed up insane. And he's had a problem with my Dad for I don't know how long. I just think it's finally reaching the breaking point.

Naraku. - June 17, 2008 09:33 AM (GMT)
Oh my God of course these things can happen. What the **** do you think those horror movies came out from? Fairy Tales? They were made according to waht really happened in this world, or why the hell would I be seeing news of a family member killing everyone else in the family, then suicide, or news of a girlfriend shooting her boyfriend and then suicide, or psychotics who kill innocent people, EVERY DAY on TV?

Also, yinandyang17 thre was no need to act like a cool-head wannabe. Something that almost happened is nothing, something that happened hurts? It doesn't even make sense, so you can forget about it being an amazing thing to say. SO WHAT if like_light_to_the_flies' dad is still there, I would be terrified of that insane guy! Because it 'DIDN'T HAPPEN', LLTTF's family will have NO idea what happens next, which makes them like insects caught in an empty web. (I don't know how to reword that) You could at least show some sympathy, if you really experienced what you said was 'something'.

buba on the rocks - June 17, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
Mm...drunk people suck, the best thing you can do is ignore them, I mean...they're drunk, they have no idea what they're doing. At least nothing BAD happened...but still, the best thing is let them talk, and just ignore them.

lol The movies are the fairy tails! in some cases based of reality "not always" This is indeed a 21 century which dose proses a very affective fight against crime capability's. It dose not always prevent the crime but it dose put en offender behind the bars soon or a later. Unfortunately it also prevents some effective solutions that can work against people like hem. In any other county, Im sure beating that fool to a pulp would elevates his thinking and no one would ask questions if done properly. But US well its a law binding country well it seems that way O_o but....
brutal fours would make you the offender and hem the victim.

Im sure there is something your family can do against hem. Restriction order could be a first step towards it.

Doesn't matter any more.

I guess the guy's step-daughter called him in on abuse and domestic violence. The cops arrested him for five days. He finally got out, got an escort to his house, packed some stuff, put a "For Sale" sign on his truck and took off.

Last we heard, he's in a city two and a half hours away.

P.S. Sorry you have a stalker. You might want to get a taser or a small pistol. Just to be safe.

Patriot1776 - June 29, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
Glad it's finally over. Around here, I know dad at least and several other guys would have decided jail time would've been worth it to shoot him if it would keep the rest of his family safe. Thank God again for the Second Amendment and how the Court finally said in black and white it does permit law-abiding citizens to keep their own guns.
