See... There is indeed a consumer tendance going against movies in theathers... Attendance is dropping since some years, due to the ubiquity of the VCR and now the march onward to glory of the DVD drive and the future successor to DVD. Peoples now prefer to watch movies in their home, or at least more than before.
No worries, the movie theaters aren't going to disapear soon! It's an experience who is hard to mimick in the home. In fact, in the genre movies and all, specialised movie theaters are opening. Like here, in Québec City, the international movoies theater Le Clap is doing just great and the Cinéma Cartier reopened about a year ago, to a small but growing audiance.
Peoples demand more, now.

The Ubbergeek - June 14, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)

The prices of the cineam ticket is high and, since with DVD, you have a great quality 'home cinema', well... Peoplkes goes to the movies theaters less.
