My name is Arie Yokuro. I'm 14 years old and I live on my own.The only thing that lives with me is my dog named Asul. I have deep, dark midnight black hair and bright, big green eyes. I wear a long black skirt with a long sleave green shirt. I have a green and black dragon tatto on arm which no one ever sees unless I show them. One thing about my parents are that they sent me here to live a better life. That's right...I used to live in the past. But now, I'm stuck here. It's okay...I can get used to it. I've been living in the future for all of my life and how do I know that I used to live in the past? Memories of a past life haunt me and it's tearing me into peices. A past life with killing...pain and sadness. Though I'm glad that I'm here, I wish I was with my parents.
Chapter 1
Arie walked down the street, looking at all of the shops with amusment. She just passed through the crowd as if no one saw her. And she just just frowned as she came to a compleat hault when a car zipped past, almost knocking her over. She cursed under her breath and held the middle finger up as the car turned the corner. The car stopped and began to turn around. The was when Arie realized she made a mistake.
She quickly turned on her heel and ran away as fast as she could, eyes glaring straight ahead. She could hear the schreech of the car and the sound the motor made as it gained on her. She turned the corner and ran inside of a shop, ducking as the car went past. She sighed and walked back out, heading in the oppposite direction of the car. Her heart pounded and she crossed her arms as she walked slowly on. The same car came barreling out in front of her and she screamed.
"This is just not my damn day!" She muttered as she ran faster as the car gained on her. A short young man with spiky blue and black hair stepped in front of her. Arie moaned and turned right into an ally. A flash of light whizzed in front of her and the young man was there.
"Will you stop running!?" He demanded. Arie came to a hault and crashed into him. Arie picked herself up and looked at him. He was no taller than her and they were about the same highth.
"Why? Can't you see I'm being chased?" She screamed at him as the car came into the ally, speeding after her. Arie moaned again and pushed her way past the young man and went right into one of the abandoned warehouses. The young man had followed her in.
"Yes...and so what?" He said as she stopped.
"I don't really want to die, you know!" She said as her face became red.
"You won't die. Just fight them." He said as he pulled a sword from his cloak. Arie turned her head as two men came into the building with guns. One looked pissed and mad.
“You over there. What gives you the right to stick your finger up at us?” He said growling. Arie gulped and looked at the guns in their hands.
“You almost ran me over. Had to do something to show how mad I was.” Arie said as she gripped her right arm and rolled the sleave up. The young man looked at her arm and gasped slightly. He appeared at her side and whispered in her ear.
“ You have the Dragon Flame?” He asked. Arie looked behind at him.
“No…” She said hurriedly as she turned back to the guys. “You don’t want to mess with me.”
“What are you going to do? You don’t have a weapon and lets see…we have guns.” The one guy said aiming the gun at her heart. Arie just held her right hand up.
“Uh-huh…a little pistol that won’t hurt me. See…I have a secret. A deep dark secret and now, I’ll show you.” Arie waved her hand and her whole body glowed and the warehouse was filled with a bright green light. The light stayed there but Arie now had green hair and black eyes. She wore a black and green dress with lace and ribbons.
“What are you? A freak and a girly girl?” The second guy said as he drew up another gun from his back pocket. Arie smirked.
“I may be a freak but a girly girl? I don’t think so,” Her hands waved in the air and she gripped a bladed staff with a green and black ball on the end of it. “I am the daughter of the Great Demon of the north, Lord Minomara. I am a half demon and I will get my way.”
She vanished and the guys looked around with scared expressions. They held their guns up and began to move in a circle. The young man held his sword up and moved quickly to the guy on the left, slicing his left arm off. The guy yelled in pain and he suddenly crashed to the ground and it looked like he died.
“I can handle this on my own.” Arie said as she came from behind the only guy standing and jabbing her staff right into his stomach. She smirked as she pulled it out and the guy fell over.
“I can see that now.” The young man said as she went beck to normal. She turned to him.
“But I do thank you.” She said frowning. “Though…I wonder why they chased me. No matter, I’ll just clean this mess up.” She waved her hands over the sight in front of them and the guys vanished, along with the blood.
“ What does the tatto mean?” The young man asked.
“Nothing…It just means that…” She paused and walked past him. “Never mind…you wouldn’t understand. Besides…I don’t even know your name.”
“My name is Hiei. Now tell me, what does it mean?” He asked again as he appeared in front of Arie.
“None of your business. Besides, I never tell anyone what it means. Now, if you please, I must really go before the cops come.” She said as she pushed past him and out into the sunlight. As she left, the door at the other side of the warehouse opened and three guys came in.
“What… did we miss everything already?” The one with slick black hair said as he ran over to Hiei. Hiei just crossed his arms and frowned.
“Of course… you should have kept up. You missed talking to some girl with a green and black dragon tatto. She’s the one who killed the demons.”
“You mean like your mark?” The one with curly orange hair said.
“Duh, you idiot. Like my mark but not like it. She said that it means she’s part of something but she didn’t finish saying what.” Hiei said as they walked out of the warehouse.

Chapter 2: the next day.
Arie fixed her hair and walked out the front door, smiling and whistling a little tune. Her boarder collie followed after as she went along.
“So… what should we do today, Asul?” She asked her dog. Her dog just barked and went next to her. “That’s all you answer with lately.”
Arie just smiled and walked along, not noticing that someone was following her. Her dog, however, saw this and stopped barking fiercely at the ally. Arie turned to where her dog was barking. She narrowed her eyes as she saw the shadows dance along the walls. Her dog watched her as she ran into the ally with a firm frown on her face.
If I know better…he’s here and that can mean one thing. She came to a stop as the shadows began to form a young man with black/blue hair and gleaming red eyes. He wore a black tank top with a long coat. It hid his baggy red pants.
“Ahh… my little girl. And how have you been doing in the light?” He asked her as he walked his way to her.
“Be quiet, Lyserg. I don’t have to answer that question.” Arie said annoyed.
“Aww… come on, I just want to know what it’s like on the good side.” He said as he ran a hand down her cheek. She shivered under his touch but sent a fire right through her fire. It seemed to her that he still had affect on her.
“The good side is okay… I like it and I won’t change a thing if that’s what you want to know.” Arie said as she backed off. Her dog started to bark at him. Lyserg sent a evil glare at Asul and the dog backed down, frightened for her life.
“Aww…but the bad side can be okay too. Why don’t you come back to your ways?” He said as he just pulled her closer to him. Arie looked frightened.
“No…I won’t go back to my old ways. I promised Cio I’d never go back to my old ways. It was my fault he died…” She said on the verge of tears. Lyserg placed his hand behind her head and moved it to rest on his chest.
“Nothing is your fault… it was no ones fault but his to die a death by you. He knew it was your nature to kill and he just prolonged it. I saw you with those guys… you killed them without feeling a single emotion but the urge to kill.” He said quietly as he watched the people walk past the seen taking place in the ally.
Arie closed her eyes and buried her head in his chest. She gripped his shirt and held onto him. “But they would have killed me. I don’t like killing innocent people…it’s not in my heart to do it anymore. Once that was what I did but not anymore.”
Lyserg just held her closer, resting his chin on her head. “If it is your wish to not kill, then I must respect what you will. But, if the urge to do it again, I will be right by your side. I'll still stay by your side now and you know that…”
Arie felt tears fall down her face. In mind she wanted to trust him again, let him back in her life and in her heart she wanted nothing more than to walk away. Her mind and heart clashed together, trying so hard to win over the match in her inner-self. Her heart and mind won and she just buried her head into his chest deeper.
“I know you’ll be by my side but how am I to trust you when you weren’t there for me? I want to trust you again but, I don’t think I’m ready. One day, I’ll be able to fully trust you and let you back in. For now, give me time…”
“Yes…time. The one thing you must need. And when you accept me back in, I’ll love you forever on.” Lyserg said as he pulled Arie away and smashed his lips with her, overwhelmed with a need and want.
~~
Arie was now at school and about to doze off. She still remembered his words. They rang deep in her mind and rang a little truth to them. Her head rested on the table as she looked out the window, sighing every now and then. She lifted her head and yawned before she placed it back down before resting it again on the desk, looking at a boy with slick hair.
“Yokuro. Arie Yokuro, please lift you head up. “The teacher said as he tapped her desk with a ruler. Arie grumbled as she lifted her head up and glared at him as he walked back to the front of the room. He began to teach again and Arie felt lost in her own world.
“Here…” The boy next to her said as he handed her a piece of gum. “Chew this and you’ll stay awake. It helps me a little.”
“Thanks, Yusuke.” Arie said as she put the gum in her mouth. Suddenly, she didn’t feel tiered and she wanted to get up and run around. So much energy raced through her body… she felt a small tingling feeling in the back of her mind. She realized something and gripped her arm and closed her eyes, chanting something under her breath. The tingling feeling left and she sighed.
“You okay?” Yusuke asked as he looked at her.
“Oh yeah…just for some reason every time I chew gum my arm goes to sleep.” Arie whispered as the bell rang.
“That’s odd…well, I’ve got to go to work so see ya later.” Yusuke said as he walked out the door and too the roof top.
Arie walked down the halls and walked outside, seeing her dog waiting for her. “Hey girl, you waited for me.” She said smiling as Asul ran to her. Arie bent down and began to stroke her fur. Asul looked into the sky and barked. Arie looked at what her dog was looking at and saw Lyserg on the roof.
“Come on, Asul. Lyserg is waiting for me.” Arie said as she walked back inside the school. Her dog followed and looked at all the people walking past them. Arie came to stairs that lead up to the roof and she ran up them and her dog followed at fast pace. Arie reached the roof tops door and opened it, walking out on to the roof.
“Ah, Arie. You’re here.” Lyserg replied as she walked to him. Arie looked around and saw Yusuke in a fighting stance, along with two girls that had short brown hair and baby blue hair standing behind him.
“Yeah… I was heading home and saw you up here.” She said as she looked at him oddly. Lyserg placed a hand on her shoulder and moved her in front of him.
“Detective Yusuke, this is my girl Arie. You wouldn’t try anything with her around, would you?” Lyserg said quietly as Arie looked at him oddly.
“I know who she is… she’s in my class. But, how is it you know her?” Yusuke said demandingly.
“You could say she was my partner and a lot more than that. She’s my girlfriend, you numbskull. Of course I’d know my own girlfriend.” Lyserg said as he let go of Arie. Ariu stepped fore ward and turned around.
“What’s going on, Lyserg?” Arie asked as he looked at her with his gleaming red eyes.
“Nothing, love. Just having a discussion with Detective Yusuke.” Lyserg said as Arie turned around to Yusuke.
“Detective?” Arie asked as it dawned on her.
“Yes… love. That is what I said. He is a Detective.” Lyserg said as Arie began to back off.
“Is he here for a reason?” Arie asked, as she looked terrified. If she knew what that meant, he was a detective for Koenma.
“Reason? I don’t know what reason that would be.” Lyserg said as he looked deeply at Arie. Yusuke loosened up and let his hands rest at his side.
“I’m here for no reason. I was going to work but then he showed up. He seemed like a bad guy and I was ready to fight.”
“I am a bad guy,” Lyserg said low. “But, Arie is good now and I must try not to kill when she’s around. I can’t see her cry or be hurt by the crazy things I do.”
Arie let those words merge with the rest of his other words and she realized none of it made sense. But, it didn’t matter in her point of view. Suddenly, Arie felt a chill run up her spine and her arm seared with a shocking sensation. Her feet moved and she was lead to the edge of the building.
“Arie! What are you doing?” Yusuke yelled as he rushed to her. Lyserg held him back.
“Leave her… she is having a vision or maybe an urge. I don’t really know.” Lyserg said as Asul glowed. “Maybe it’s neither.”
Arie moved to where she was standing on the edge of the building and looking off in the distance. Her eyes glowed and turned black. “It’s coming… shadows of eternal darkness is on it’s way. Here to help save us all from impending death.”
Asul moved to her side and sat down, still glowing. “Approximate time of arrival is three months.”
Yusuke looked like he was going to faint. “The dog just talked…”
Arie blinked and her eyes went back to normal. She stepped back and turned around, seeing odd expressions on everyone but Lyserg’s face. Lyserg had a look of being surprised.
“Shadows of Eternal darkness… is coming?” He asked quietly. Arie looked at him with blank eyes.
“Yes… three months and they will be here. Finally… my parents are coming to be here.”
