In the manga, the show ends differently. And if you read the manga, you will obviously know that Sesshomaru is a lot happier(meaning he smiles more) in there then in the Anime.
And manga is books of Inuyasha in black and white. Anime is like, an anie-mangs book(which is a book read right to left, but its in color and Anime stlye) Anime is also on T.V. the manga can only be read in a book.

If you read the manga on Ear Tweak you would know. But okay if you really want to know but be warned there are major spoilers.
*spoilers*
Well Mouryoumaru broke the the Tokijin so he needed a new sword. But then Totosai came to him and said that because he had a change of heart (about Kagura) Tensaiga finally accepted him as it's true and rightfull master. So Totosai awakened the hidden power inside which opens a rift in the dimension and sucks them straight to hell in a one-hit kill.
