Title: The Girls' Boxing Tournament
Description: Inspired by a 'Tournament' thread.
Patriot1776 - April 20, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
COPYRIGHT, Patriot1776, 2006!
Okay, this fic is being inspired by the 'Boxing Tournament' thread in the Tournament's forum. Now let me say first off that this will not be a wild, erotic, boys fantasy fic. This is going to be a legitimate fic with a real plot, just with boxing action put in. I may wind up re-writing it too a little after I post it to maybe get the action going sooner.
Disclaimer - May be some OOCness in one particular character.
EDIT - For those who would like to get right to the boxing action, here's a link to page 41 when the actual tournament starts:
Actual Boxing Tournament Start - Page 41
Let me just warn you though, you'll be missing a lot of the plot if you do this.
EDIT2 - Here is a link to the story on another forum that has every bit of the same story as this one, but almost no spam in it, and so is only 12 pages long:

Intro
In the modern day city of Tokyo, youkai and humans live side by side in harmony. Not complete harmony, but mostly harmony. This means that there is still is some rivalry between the two groups, but it does remain of the friendly variety. Among these rivalries is a rivalry among the various young girls in the various schools, both youkai and human. Today, that rivalry is going to be tapped into by one crafty promoter, a boxing promoter to be exact.
Chapter I: The Promoter's Idea
Naraku had been scouting around in the Shikon district of Tokyo for several days now. He had now seen opportunity in this area. An opportunity for boxing. He'd noted the strong feelings of competitiveness among the local high school girl population, both youkai and human alike. And now he was keen to tap into it.
Walking into his new office in the area one day, he called in his secretary.
"Kagura, would you please come in here for a second?" He said into his desk's speakerphone.
"Of course boss." she replied over it. A moment or so later, the door opened and an attractive, magenta eyed, brown haired woman, her hair up in a bun, walked in. She wore standard secretary's clothes. "What is it, Mr. Onigumo?" she asked.
"You know of course that I have been scouting around in this area for the past few days looking for boxing opportunities right? I think I know how to get some competitive woment's boxing going on here, this area does have the potential." Naraku said.
"What have you come up with?" Kagura asked.
"A high school girls' boxing tournament. Or more precisely, a youth women's boxing tournament. That's what. I specifically called you in here because I'd like to ask you a question specifically relating to it."
"And that is?"
"I'd like to ask you specifically if you'd be willing to participate in it." Kagura raised an eyebrow at that.
"And why?" she asked.
"You'd be my own entry in it of course. Anyway, there'd be three divisions of it. There'd be an all-human category, an all-youkai category, and maybe a category for hanyou, but I'm not sure at the present time. You, Kagura, would be in the all-youkai category of it. You don't have to participate in it, but if you do, I would be willing to give you first a raise for entering and then a bonus for possibly winning in the youkai category. What do you say?" Naraku finished. Kagura started rubbing her chin for a few moments.
"Naraku, I think the real reason why you want me to participate is so you can see me in trunks, a sport top, and with the gloves on mostly, am I right?" she then said. Naraku just smirked at her.
"I see you caught me in my ploy. Ok I admit to that, but I am willing, like I said, to give you a payriase and maybe a bonus for it." he said. Kagura raised her hands up.
"I guess I will enter it then for the extra pay. You want me to get started on contacting people on helping to set this up and everything?" Kagura said, giving in to the bait Naraku had offered.
"Yes please, and I will help you out too, as I am very eager to see this tournament get started ASAP." he replied.
"But of course." Kagura came back. "You just can't wait to see me in the boxing attire." Naraku again smirked at her.

I actually typed two pages last night. Here's more. This is all coming to me very well, so I may just do more than one update today.
Chapter II: Finding Participants
Sango and Kagome were at lunch when they saw the new poster on the wall and were looking at it.
"A boxing tournament for girls?" Kagome asked.
"Sure looks like it. Hmm, look at the top prize, 100,000 yen." Sango said.
"What's this?" Kikyo asked as she now walked up, her boyfriend Heion behind her.
"A boxing tournament of some kind for girls." Kagome replied to her twin sister. Kikyo raised an eyebrow.
"A boxing tournament exclusively for girls? How strange." Kikyo said.
"The 100,000 yen top prize looks pretty nice however." Heion added in.
"There's also multiple divisions of it. A human-only division, and a youkai/hanyou-only division." Sango observed. Heion turned to Kikyo.
"Kikyo-chan, why don't you enter? The prize money would go a long way toward helping get those remodeling and repairs done at the shrine quicker if you won it." he said. Kikyo sighed.
"I don't know if putting myself on the line like that would be worth it. Though you do have a point on the money being useful for the shrine." she replied. Other girls were now walking up and looking at the poster, including one particular girl, who looked at it and smirked at Kikyo.
"I think I'm entering this just so I can get the chance to pound your face in Kikyo, and then take you boyfriend!" she said to her. A cold look came to both Kikyo's and Heion's faces.
"Tsubaki, how many times do I have to tell you I ain't leaving Kikyo? What is it you see in me anyway? I definitely don't see what I want in you." Heion shot back at Tsubaki with an edged voice.
"You know love, on second thought, I think I will enter just to maybe finally have a chance to shut that slut Tsubaki up." Kikyo said darkly, her eyes closed. Tsubaki only smiled a seductive smile and walked off, Heion not looking at her. Sango now snapped her fingers.
"I'm definitely entering it now. I want to see how I stack up against the other girls from other schools if they enter it." she said. At this time, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi walked up.
"What's this? A boxing tournament? Who's going to be in it?" Ayumi asked.
"Its open to all girls aged 15 to 20. Sango-chan, Kikyo-oneechan, and Tsubaki-san have said they're going to enter it. I'm not sure if I will, even though it'll give my family a double-shot at the prize with both me and Kikyo-onee in it. I'm not really the competitive, fighting type, and InuYasha-kun may not approve of it at all." Kagome replied.
"What Kagome-chan? You're still going out with him..." Eri started, starting an argument between Kagome and the three of them. While they were arguing Kikyo turned to Heion.
"Love, would you be willing to train me for this tournament? I've had it up to here with Tsubaki's shenanigans." she said. Heion nodded, putting an arm around her lovingly.
"Gladly. I'm tired of her constant badgering and pestering to get me to date her. I guess you litterally knocking and punching some sense into that thick skull of hers is the only way she's going to learn to lay off. I could train both you and Kagome if she enters too..." Heion's voice trailed off as both him and Kikyo watched Kagome continue to argue with her friends.
"Come on Kagome-chan! Enter it! It'll be your best chance of showing you're strong!" Eri said.
"But what if I get hurt? Mama won't like it one bit if I get hurt in it!" Kagome said back.
"Not if I'm training you." Heion said, entering the conversation. Kagome turned and looked at him.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I'm going to be training your sis so she can hopefully get a chance to beat Tsubaki's brains out, so why not I train you at the same time if you enter?" he replied.
"Also Kagome-chan, if you do well, InuYasha-san probably won't have to protect you so much." Ayumi said. Kagome glared at her.
"I don't need his protection for millionth time already! I know martial arts pretty good. I'm just in not any hurry to really purposely fight somebody." she said, she then thought for a moment. "Tell you what. I'll enter it only on one condition."
"What then?" Eri asked.
"You three enter it as well. You're asking me to stick my neck out, so I want to see if you all are willing to stick yours out too." Kagome replied. All three of them were taken aback a little.
"We don't have a lot of skills at boxing!" Yuka blurted out.
"But you're all three in good physical shape, since all of us are on the gymnastics team." Kagome replied back, then turning to Heion. "Heion, would you be willing to train my friends as well as me and Kikyo-oneechan?" she asked. Both Kikyo and Heion sighed a little.
"I guess it won't be too big of a problem. The thing is I'll have to train you all together. Individual training sessions for each of you I don't have the time for." he said.
"Okay, it's settled then. Kikyo-oneechan and I will both ask mama after school for permission to enter, and then I'll ask and try to convince InuYasha-kun to let me do it, but still no guarantees I'll be able to. Eri-chan, Yuka-chan, Ayumi-chan, if I can't compete, you three won't have to either." Kagome said.
"Okay." Ayumi said, all three of them with slightly deflated looks on their faces.
Shalimar_miko - April 20, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
Uhoh...I guess InuYasha is still his same over-protective, stubborn self huh? 'Wonder what he will think about this...
Great job! :angelstar7:
Inu Yasha<<3 - April 20, 2006 05:47 PM (GMT)
I like this Patriot! It's a very interesting idea! Please update soon!
Patriot1776 - April 20, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
You all are familiar with my original character Heion right? If not, check this link and read through my posts in the thread it leads to get the profile of him. He's not a monk in this one though, he's instead a self-defense instructor, enabling him to do the training for several people.
Anyway, here's the next part.Chapter II: Finding Participants (continuation)
At a nearby youkai-only school, another of the same posters were going up in the lunchroom, and the youkai girls were gathering around it. Some of the girls' boyfriends were with them too.
"What do you think, Kouga-kun? Should I enter it?" Ayame asked Kouga, who was standing beside her.
"Yeah Ayame, I think you should. The elders will like it. In fact, they'll probably ask that all the young females in this particular area to participate. This will serve as a little bit of tuneup to the status tournament the elders will be holding later this year." Kouga replied. Beside them, one particular boy was staring at the poster alone, as his girlfriend went to the human-only school. Kouga and Ayame both noticed him. That's all I put up at the moment. I'll post the rest of this page later. Gotta go to band practice now.
Inu Yasha<<3 - April 20, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
Koga and Ayame are in this too! YAY! Update when you can!
Edit - Is Miroku in this too?
ghostgirl_208 - April 20, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)
this is great!!! YAY! Ayame's in the story! and she's with Koga! i wish they would get together in the anime!! *sighs* haha Miroku would hate to miss seeing a bunch of girls in boxing outfits!!!!
Patriot1776 - April 20, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
Of course Miroku will be in this! Here's the rest of what I started earlier.
Chapter II: Finding Participants (continuation)
"InuYasha? What are you doing staring at the poster?" Ayame asked, then she gasped. "You aren't thinking of asking Kagome to enter it are you?"
"I don't know for sure. Part of me is wanting to keep her out of it while another part is saying its fine for her to. I know she knows how to fight with her martial arts skills, but I'm not sure about this. Its different." he said. Kouga then chuckled a little, earning a stare from InuYasha, and then walked over to put a hand on his shoulder.
"Mutt, boxing is a whole lot simpler than normal martial arts fighting. All it is is punching and blocking with your arms and the boxing gloves, and dodging too. No kicking or legwork is allowed unless it's kickboxing, and this appears to be a tournament of just normal boxing. If Kagome's good with those things, I don't see why she shouldn't participate in it." Kouga then said. InuYasha turned to him.
"For once, wolf, it seems your right. Okay, if she asks me, I'll let her, that is if her mother agrees to it." he said, then looked back at the poster more closely, and nodded. "Good, youkai vs. human matchups won't be a part of this. That's the only other problem I had with her doing this. I'll talk with Kagome about this then while Heion and I walk her and Kikyo home today." As him, Kouga, and Ayame continued to talk, other youkai girls were talking about the upcoming tournament as well.
"You entering it Hari?" one girl asked.
"You bet I am Ruri. Sis, I'm going to enjoy taking you on in the finals." Hari replied. Their older brother walked up behind them.
"You two are going to enter aren't you?" he asked.
"Yes we are Menomaru. It would disgrace the family to completely pass up an opportunity like this, brother. We shall bring the Hyoga family some additional prestige and status by us both making it and taking on each other in the final bout, showing no mercy to our opponents along the way." Ruri said.
"It's a shame though that youkai vs. human matchups will not be happening in this tournament. Giving one of those weak human girls brain damage from powerful blows to the head or paralyzing one in the ring would be most satisfying." Hari said. Menomaru smiled.
"It's good to hear both of my younger siblings share the same zest for combat, no matter what it is, as well as a zest for power, status and the distaste for humans as both I and our father, Hyoga." he said. A few feet away, another youkai girl was looking at the poster.
"Hmm. This is a different kind of tournament. I'll give it a try." Yura said. "It'll be truly different to only use fists and not be allowed to use legs and feet. Still, I should be able to go pretty far. I wonder if any hanyou will enter. It would feel good to beat up on one during this." Over in the corner, Kagura was watching closely.
'Good response so far to the idea. Naraku will be pleased that it looks like the tournament is going to be pretty large. Still, that means for me I'll have quite a few bouts to participate in.' she thought. Just then, one of the girls, a fire-neko with yellow hair and two tails, walked over to her.
"Who are you? Are you going to be signing people up for the tournament?" the fire-neko asked.
"I am Kagura, and yes I will be signing everybody up who's interested, but not today. The dates for signups are on the poster. Just bring a doctor's medical clearance, and ID, and when you sign up, you'll get a booklet with the rules. What is your name?" Kagura said.
"Kirara. So signups will be in several days? Okay." Kirara said, then walking off.

Here's the last update of this for the day. I'll try and get some action scenes going in this tomorrow.
Chapter III: Mother's Approval
Kagome was nervous as her, Kikyo, and Heion approached the intersection they always met InuYasha at on the walk back to the shrine her and Kikyo called home. Questions were running through her mind about InuYasha and what he would say about the tournament. Would he allow her to put on the trunks, top and gloves to fight, or would he say no? Would her mother consent to all this? Parts of her wanted them to say yes. Those parts wanted her to show that she was indeed strong and not weak at all. Other parts of her wanted InuYasha and her mother to say no. Those were the parts of her that were scared of her getting hurt in the ring in some way, and of her face getting permanently scarred from a bad cut from a nasty punch.
As her, Kikyo, and Heion approached the intersection, there was InuYasha, tapping his foot waiting on them.
"Hey InuYasha." Heion said as they neared him.
"Keh." InuYasha just simply said. "Kagome, was there any kind of a poster at school today advertising a boxing tournament for girls?" he then asked. Kagome's eyes opened wide.
"You saw it too? So it was at the youkai school too, huh? Yes, I was going to ask you-" Kagome started but was cut off.
"If you could enter it? My answer is yes, Kagome. Ayame's entering it too, and Kouga said this boxing is simpler than martial arts combat." InuYasha said. "Plus, there also won't be any "youkai vs. human" matches. That's the big reason why I'm letting you do it." Kagome smiled a little at him.
"Thanks InuYasha. I've been wanting to prove to everybody that I can fight when I need to." Kagome then said.
"Who's going to be your trainer Kagome? I could train you if you think you need it." InuYasha offered.
"Actually InuYasha, Heion has said he can train her. He'll be training me for this too." Kikyo spoke up. InuYasha turned and looked at her.
"Kikyo? You're wanting in on this tournament too?" he asked.
"Yes. That rival, Tsubaki, said she was going to enter it, and I felt compelled to enter it too. I'm hoping I wind up facing her at some point during it. This tournament will give me a way to beat her to a pulp like I've been wanting to for a long time, and not get in any trouble at all for it. I'm looking forward hopefully to punching her face into a black, blue, and bloody mess." Kikyo said coldly. InuYasha smirked.
"You really do hate that slut don't you?" InuYasha said at her as they started to approach the shrine steps.
"Yes I do, ever since she first tried to decieve Heion and I both into thinking we were cheating on each other."
"I'm going to enjoy training Kikyo to give Tsubaki a pounding she won't soon forget. I've got a vendetta in this too. Hopefully, Kagome, you and your sister's mama will really let you do this." Heion said as they started up the shrine steps, InuYasha chuckling about Heion and Kikyo's plans.

Why do I get the feeling not getting into the action almost immediately has doomed this fic to failure now, since nobody's replying?

sry 4 not repling!! This was good! update soon!!!!! :yellowjelly:
Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 12:59 AM (GMT)
Finally! Thanks! Be more observant now please? I vigilantly check every time I log into IJ whether my favorite stories I like to read have been replied to or updated so I never leave other authors like this, update yet no seems to respond when yet there's still a lot of people logged into the forum.
To help get the action going, I'm going to have a little bit of a sparring session between two characters shortly. Gotta turn the computer off now since it's storming, and fire up the typewriter instead.

don't worry so much. you haven't doomed your ficcy. i think its i good idea to build up a good character bacground, that way later in the story, the people will make more sense. you know, like the Kikyo VS Tsubaki(sp?) because then it will make more sense to the readers why they want to beat each other up.
good update
sorry for not replying earlier, Smallville was on, can't miss it! LOL

Shoulda told me you wrote this... Anyway, I think it's awesome, and keeping the action away from the beginning was neccesary. You could have had a little rivalry fight in the beginning or something, but it's fine as it is.
When I saw the word 'vendetta' in that new movie title(V for Vendetta), I thought it was some other foreign language word. That is, until I looked it up. :blue20:
Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
Sparring scene's complete, and the next part where Kikyo and Kagome break their plans to mother is almost finished too. Sparring scene will come after Kikyo and Kagome tell mother of their idea. Little bit of a heads up here: Kagome, and now Kikyo's, mother in this fic will be named Ayaka too, just like she is 'Foreigner' if I remember correctly.
Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 04:36 AM (GMT)
Okay, this is truly the last update for tonight. Doing this to just get a little bit of fighting action into this story.Chapter III: Mother's Approval (continuation)
Ayaka was busy washing dishes when her twin daughters and their boyfriends knocked on the door and then came in. She smiled when they entered the kitchen.
"Ah, hello, welcome home dears, and welcome to you too InuYasha and Heion." she said.
"Hello Higurashi-okaasan." Heion started, then continued. "Higurashi-okaasan, your daughters have a request to make of you."
"Oh? What is it?" she asked, leaving the dishes momentarily to listen.
"Mama, Kagome and I would like to ask your permission to enter a boxing tournament specifically for girls." Kikyo said, both her and Kagome bowing before their mother. It was at that time that Jii-chan entered the kitchen, and he was shocked. Ayaka Higurashi only blinked her eyes once.
"Did I hear that right? You two want to enter a boxing tournament?" Jii-chan said in a shocked voice. "I already know what my answer is. A definite no! Beating each other up in a ring is not what young girls should be doing!" he said sternly.
"But you're not in charge here jii-san, the decision is up to mama only." Kikyo said, turning her head to look at him without raising her head up.
"How did you two learn about this tournament?" Ayaka asked in a slightly concerned voice.
"A professional poster put up in the lunchroom. That's how. Kagome and I have two reasons for wanting to enter. Firstly, the 100,000 yen prize to the tournament champion will be very useful for use on improvements and repairs here at the shrine." Kikyo said.
"And second," Kagome said, now taking over briefly, "Sister and I would like to test ourselves." She paused, then continued. "Sister and I will buy our own boxing gloves, trunks, and other equipment, and pay for the training time at a local gym."
"And who will be providing the training?" Ayaka now asked. Now it was Heion's turn.
"I will, Higurashi-okaasama, the same person that taught Kikyo and Kagome everything they know about martial arts." Heion said, now bowing to her. Ayaka's eyes brightened a little and she started to smile just a little.
"You'll teach them everything they need to know then to keep from getting hurt then?" she asked him.
"Yes, I will. I can't guarantee that they will not get punched or hit any at all during the fights, but they will be able to protect themselves from serious injury. It actually won't take that long to really train them, it'll be more physical conditioning and endurance building than anything else, as boxing only involves punching, blocking and dodging, all with the arms and boxing gloves. No kicking of any kind is used or permitted in this style of sport." Heion finished.
"So, mama, do you give us your permission to enter this tournament?" Kikyo asked.
"I guess so. When does it start?" Ayaka now asked.
"According to the poster we saw at school, signups start in about a week, then there will be a session I guess to get everybody weighed and sized up, and then the bouts will be scheduled. We're all not really sure, but I thought it would be a good idea to start Kikyo and Kagome's training ASAP." Heion said, then added, "Oh, a doctor's examination to make sure Kikyo and Kagome are fit to box will be needed too of course."
"I figured that." Ayaka said.
"Mother, we'd now like to go out to a sporting goods store and get the equipment we'll need. The gloves, trunks, and the like." Kikyo now spoke up.
"Go right ahead, just be sure you do not forget your homework." Ayaka finished.
"We won't mama." Kagome said. With that, her, Kikyo, Heion, and InuYasha then left.
-
After school had let out, instead of heading straight home, Ruri and Hari had instead gone straight to the local sporting goods store, and bought two pairs of boxing gloves and trunks, and then proceeded on home. At home, their father, Hyoga, enthusiastically approved of his daughters' plans to enter the tournament. They had then stated that they were then going to go to a local gym for a sparring session to try out the new gloves and trunks they had bought. That's where they were now.
After arriving, they had immediately gone to the dressing room and changed out of their school uniforms, and changed into sport bras and the fighting trunks. They both then put on their new gloves and climbed into the gym's boxing ring, Hari tying her hair up into a tight bun. The other people in the gym looked on curiously as the two youkai girls met in the center of the ring to spar.
"Okay sis, you ready to start?" Hari asked, putting in her mouthpiece after she said it, then getting into a a defensive boxer's stance. Ruri put her mouthpiece in, nodded, and followed suit, hitting her gloves together to indicate she was ready. They both then advanced toward each other, circling each other at first. Most of the boys and men in the gym had now started to gather around the ring, eager to see these two sisters go at it.
Ruri struck first, throwing a straight left jab that tagged Hari on the cheek, but did not hurt hardly any. Because this was just a sparring session, both girls were not putting a lot of force, if any, behind their punches. Ruri again tried to throw another left jab, but her sis saw it coming this time and blocked it, at the same time then counter-punching with her own left that landed downstairs on Ruri's ribs. Ruri ignored the light sting she had felt and counter-punched herself with a straight right hand that tagged her sister again on the cheek.
Hari now backed away and started trying to circle around while also trying to get a little bit of a boxer's bouncing dance going with her legs, to give Ruri a harder target to hit, and it worked. Ruri started having trouble keeping up with her sister, and when the timing was right, Hari started an offensive, coming in close suddenly and throwing a series of light punches to Ruri's face and eyes. Despite the fact that she was not putting any strength behind them, the speed she was throwing them with was making Hari's punches jounce Ruri's head around some, a very light THUD sounding each time Hari's gloves met her sister's face.
Ruri was now forced to back away and put up her gloves to protect her face as she started to try and move back in. Hari saw the other opening this created and started to go downstairs on her sister, throwing quick, light, fast shots to Ruri's ribs and stomach. Ruri tried now to guard her body, but at the same time she did, she left her face and head exposed, and Hari simply switched to lightly tagging away at Ruri's face again. Finally, Ruri stepped back and dropped her gloves to her sides. Hari in response stepped back too and pulled out her mouthpiece.
"Had enough sis?" Hari now asked, dropping her gloved hands to her sides now as well. Ruri nodded. Both girls' faces and hair were now completely soaked in sweat.
"Yeah, I've had enough. I sorely need to work on my defensive skills. Had that been for real, you'd have laid me out on the canvas very quickly after you caught me off guard and started that offensive onslaught." Ruri now said.
"Let's get over to the bags then after we have a water break." Hari said as she took her gloves off. She then looked around and noticed all the boys and men staring at them, and smiled a little. "Sorry boys, that's all you get to see for now." she said. Both sisters then climbed out of the ring and made their way over to the various training bags.Just in case some of you forgot who's Ruri and who's Hari from the first movie, here's a picture:

Hari's on the left, Ruri's on the right.

He may, I'm not really sure. As much as I really enjoy adding on to and updating this one, 'Foreigner' and GCW are going to get their turns at updation tonight. I may still update this one again after I update 'Foreigner' and possibly GCW. I've got a little bit of Zelda: OoT playing to do on the Gamecube first before updating GCW next time I think.

Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Yep, I do. I've got Wind Waker, and the Zelda: Collector's Disc that has Zelda I, Zelda II, OoT and Majora's Mask. The Collector's Disc was not cheap by no means however. I had to really dig around the net to find a place I could buy it, and even then I still had to shell out $65 for it, shipping & handling included, but it was worth it.
ghostgirl_208 - April 21, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)

Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 10:54 PM (GMT)
Well, I was able to get it because I am a full-fledged adult (I'm 23 years old) and will be going back to a paying job soon, so at the time I bought it I had a good sized amount of my own money to spend to buy it.
Anyway, in the next update, which I may write shortly, I guess we'll check up what Sango has started doing.
ghostgirl_208 - April 21, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
are you going to add Miroku??? Miroku and Sango are a cute couple. LOL
YAY!!! InuYasha's on tonight!!!!!
Patriot1776 - April 21, 2006 11:13 PM (GMT)
Of course Miroku's going to be in this story! :blue20: Like somebody said earlier, Miroku's not going to miss the chance to see girls in boxing gear really go at it in the ring! Especially when his girlfriend is gonna be one of them!
WolfgurlMoro530 - April 22, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
They're gonna have to have security on that guy during the tournament...
Patriot1776 - April 22, 2006 01:15 AM (GMT)
:blue20: Anyway, no writing going on at the moment. 'Friday Night Fights' on ESPN2's on right now, and I'm watching to see if they have a women's match later on. Did see one on another edition of it, and it was fun to watch.

Kamilah_femaledogdemon - April 22, 2006 02:47 PM (GMT)
Sorry for not reading this earlier Patriot, but I was grounded off the computer until school ends. Yea...I know. Talk about harsh! And the only times I'm actually able to go on is on the weekends!!! Anyway, glad you actually started this fic. It's very good so far. Update when you can!
Patriot1776 - April 22, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
Here's another update! Why am I in the mood now to only update this one and 'Foreigner', instead of GCW? :blue20: Oh well, enjoy this. No Miroku yet, but we'll see him soon enough!
Chapter II: Finding Participants (continued)
Sango was surprised. There were a lot of girls, both human and youkai alike, at the sporting goods stores of the local mall buying trunks, boxing gloves, mouthpieces, boxing shoes, and other boxing equipment.
'Looks like this tournament is going to be a big one, with as many people buying boxing equipment as there are.' she thought. After grabbing one of the last pairs of boxing gloves in the store she was in as well as a pair of black trunks with pink trim, and some shoes, she bumped into somebody.
"Oops I'm sor-Ayame! So good to see you! Kouga too!" Sango said after looking up. Kouga and Ayame both smiled at her. Ayame had picked out a pair of crimson trunks with grey trim.
"Sango, you're entering this tournament? I figured as much." Ayame said.
"Yeah, I want to see how I really stack up against some of the girls from the other high schools in this district. So you're entering the youkai-only half of it?" Sango asked.
"That's right. Kouga encouraged me to. The Yourouzoku elders will be holding their annual fighting tournament to determine social ranks later this year, and Kouga thinks if I do well in this tournament, it'll improve my social standing going into it. So who all besides you will be in the human half of it?" Ayame now asked.
"Kikyo and Tsubaki, I know for sure. The looks they were giving each other when they both saw the poster for the tournament gave me the impression they both wanted to go at it right then and there. They're both entering I'm sure just for the chance to meet in the ring and try to kill each other." Sango replied. Ayame frowned a little.
"Kikyo still hasn't gotten over that dirty stunt Tsubaki pulled last fall hasn't she?" she said.
"Nope, she hasn't, and neither has Heion. Heion's going to be training her. They both want to try and teach Tsubaki a lesson she won't soon forget."
"Who else is joining? Ayame and I both saw Inu looking at the poster too at our school. Is Kagome entering?" Kouga now asked.
"She was reluctant at first, you know how she is, but she decided to only at the urging of three close friends, and even then she told them that if she entered, they'd have to enter as well and share the risk with her." Sango replied. "Of course, she will have to get InuYasha's approval first, and I'm not sure if he's done that yet, I haven't talked to Kagome any since we first saw the poster at lunch. Who besides you Ayame will be in this on the youkai side of it?"
"As far as I know the Hyoga sisters Ruri and Hari, and Yura, the really creepy girl, have expressed interest in entering. Kouga's said that once the elders get word of this tournament, they may command all the young females around my age in this area to enter to try and bring more status to the Yourouzoku as a whole." Ayame replied.
"Figures." Sango said with a smile, then continued. "Well, I've got get going. I need to ask my parents if they'll really let me do this, though I'm sure they will, and," she took a deep breath "inform my boyfriend of my plans of this too." she said, her face twitching a little. Ayame and Kouga both laughed.
"Yeah, that Miroku is going to really eat this up when he learns about this! I don't blame him either!" Kouga said, laughing between his words.
"Hey! You pervert!" Ayame said, looking at Kouga sternly. She then quickly slipped on one of the boxing gloves she was holding and belted him across the jaw. Kouga staggered a little, then laughed again, rubbing his jaw.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it." he said, chuckling still, then regained his composure. "Ayame, that was a nice shot by the way. You're gonna do well in this tournament, I can feel it."
"That's good to hear." Ayame said with a smile. Sango was now chuckling too.
"Yeah, that was a nice punch Ayame. I'll see both of you tomorrow, at the gym possibly. Ayame, I'll call you later tonight to tell you if InuYasha is going to let Kagome be in this or not." Sango said as she started for the store's counter to pay for her stuff.
"Thanks Sango. Bye!" Ayame said after taking the glove off and waving at her.
