Maybe a old man would date a old woman. Inuyasha is over 1000 years old. Kikyou's not old. She died at age 17, and she will stay that way. Plus, Kikyou got revived after 50 years so her age doesn't change.

Sorry if I sound offesive, but the reason Kikyou wants to stay alive to get revenge for her death. Is that too much to ask?

Inuyasha will have to choose someone yes, but there is problems with both. I think I posted this before. Anyway, if Inuyasha chose Kagome, he would be breaking Kikyou's heart, and Kagome would have to choose between her family, or Inuyasha. If she chose Inuyasha, then she would be kinda selfish. Kagome doesn't belong in Inuyasha's time and vice versa. I can think of two ways Inuyasha can solve this. Either Inuyasha dies with Kikyou, Kikyou can be happy. Inuyasha might be reincarnated in Kagome's time and hook up with Kagome. But, there is a little chance Inuyasha will be reincarnated in the first place. Even if Inuyasha is reincarnated, he won't have the memories of his incarnation.

Another way is for Inuyasha to hook up with Kagome and stays will her till she dies. Because Inuyasha is a demon, he lives a long time. Then he can hook up with Kikyou because Kikyou is dead, and her physical form won't go away.

Both of these way will hurt all three of them no doubt. Inuyasha has a really hard decision to make.
