Title: And the Election begins!
Description: (Finally)

Lokey57 - September 10, 2007 11:34 AM (GMT)
Well I finally got off my lazy butt and made the topic so... Let the voting begin!

POLLS CLOSE ON MIDNIGHT ON THE 15TH

Warning: Anyone who is caught "Vote Cheating" will be banned until the next banwipe.

And the polls are now closed... and the winner is... Me?!? O.o. Ok.... Well topic closed to prevent further voting.

Kalieum - September 10, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
Hmm, I wonder how this will turn out.

Morsh - September 10, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
I assume, since all of the candidates have now seen this thread and that there are still no votes, that we are not to vote if we are in the election?

feline monstrosity - September 10, 2007 02:21 PM (GMT)
Are we allowed to say who we voted for?

Lokey57 - September 10, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
Eh Meh, You can vote for yourself I don't care. Since if everyone votes for themself >_> It'll be the same anyway.

Nat_Knight - September 10, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
Done and done :>

I would say no, because seeing someone else's vote could influence one's own.

matau_guy - September 10, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
do we have to vote?

Kalieum - September 10, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
I don't particuarly want to vote for myself on the principle of it, but if you and Morsh vote for yourselves I'll have to vote for myself too to even it out, so it'd help to know if you two have.

Well, in that case it would be fine IMO, just not when it influences other's votes.

Lokey57 - September 11, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
Eh I did it for the heck of it, since I thought everyone else would do the same so I just did it. So go ahead Kalieum

Carefree_Butterfly - September 11, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
I can't belive that steve is leaving! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :(

Copper20 - September 12, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
Give me an M, give me an O, give me an R, give me an S, give me an H! What's that spell? Morsh!

Morsh - September 12, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
On that note,
give me a V! give me an O! Give me a T! Give me an E! What's that spell? Cheese!

wait I messed up.

Voronnen - September 12, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)

VOTE Morsh!!!

Fixed!

Lokey57 - September 12, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
Morsh leads by 9 votes! Lokey is catching up with 8 votes, while Kalieum is down at the bottom with 3 votes...

William3 - September 13, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
By the way when does the election end??

feline monstrosity - September 13, 2007 10:02 AM (GMT)
Woah! And Lokey has overtake Morsh and is in the lead with 11 while Morsh closely follows with 10! Kalieum, however, still only has three... I feel your pain man.

Lokey57 - September 13, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
Wait what? Something is fishy about this, I've been receiving alot of "new accounts" so let me issue a severe warning, I can see your ips and if I see people making new accounts JUST to vote, I will permanently ban you from here from all eternity, and I believe the new admin will do the same for the main site. Sorry, but I've been seeing "spambots" register and then not even post an ad or in general, post which makes me suspicious of cheating.

If this doesn't apply to you don't worry. I just find it funny how I suddenly jumped that much in votes when Morsh was the obvious favorite... I don't mind if people are voting for me fairly, but if they're "vote cheating"...*pulls out ban machinegun*

Morsh - September 13, 2007 12:06 PM (GMT)
If people DO vote cheat, what exactly are we going to do about it? There's no nega-voting system to undo their cheating. Perhaps it would be better if steve hosted this election somehow on themetalbox and only users who had been registered at the metal box for, say, a month or more, could vote.

Someone could make a suggestion saying "Vote 1 for Lokey, 3 for Kalieum, 5 for Morsh", or the like, and a quick check to any of the voter's profile pages could show exactly how active they really are in tmb community.

Just a thought.

Lokey57 - September 13, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
I believe I can log the ips signing up, so I suppose I'll have to be monitoring the ips of thew new people. If I DO catch them, they're banned till new years. (Which is when I flush the ban logs clean)

feline monstrosity - September 13, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Ooh, this isn't good. I do feel owever that we shouldn't ask too much of steve, as he's obviously not supposed to use the computer much any more. I don't mind if one of you gets in unfairly either since you're all quite capable in my opinion and you would all do a pretty fine job.

Morsh - September 13, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
Hm, good point.

The important thing is that whoever gets in, regardless of the questionability of the election's integrity, is going to be a good admin.

Lokey57 - September 13, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
True, though the only thing is who could contribute more to it.

Morsh - September 13, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
From the sounds of things, we could each contribute an equal amount (at least in time).

Granted, from my understanding, I possibly have more expertise in the particular setting, but given that we have the same amount of time to dedicate, either of us has the potential to learn a practically boundless skill set needed for the site. That is to say, that regardless of initial experience, since we both have enough to get by, we could, with time, become far more fluent in the various fields that tmb administration might lead us upon.

Kalieum - September 13, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
26 votes so far. If I had to guess, I wouldn't think we had that many active members, to be honest.

Still, I haven't ever heard of 'votebots', though if such a thing did exist it'd probably be more likely to vote for the first option, due to there always being a first option.
Whichever, Lokey and Morsh will both be fine, I'm sure, and I was never going to win this.

Nat_Knight - September 13, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah, these forum polls aren't to be trusted.

What you should do is take PMs from members with their vote.

Voronnen - September 13, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
But who could be trusted as a currier for the votes? maybe Kalieum, or GoB. One of those two.... they seem trustworthy...

[edit] Ok, i just did a new mem check, and there have been 7 new members in the last 2 days. Only 2 of them have posted. here are the 7 members:

Umm... me?-no posts, joined today
William3-no posts, joined yesterday
Lehcar -posted once, joined yesterday
Riku-no posts, joined yesterday
Desren-no posts joined yesterdsay
Red Runner-no posts, no posts, joined on 9-11
a1b2c3abc123-posted twice, joined on 9-11
idiot- posted 10 times, joined 9-4

thats the newest 8 members, all but "idiot" have little to no activity., and most have really spammyish names.

and the reason I voted for morsh is because, Lokey already has the forums, and shouldn't have to take care of 2 things at a time. That's the main reason for me.

Kalieum - September 13, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
Red Runner occasionally left messages on the suggestions database.

Voronnen - heh, didn't even consider voting for me? :P, ^^, and other random semi-applicable emotes.

Voronnen - September 14, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
well, i did consider it, but I really don't know much about you.... nothin' personal, just a lack of personal details. like, how old you are, whether or not you were on the SD (were you? i heard somewhere you were AzErT, but maybe I'm just crazy), how much free time you might have, all this i discussed with Morsh on AIM.

Kalieum - September 14, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
Well, I've said a few times that I'm in my last year of school, which should be a clue to my age, plus my profile has my date of birth (I'm 17, btw).

On the SDB I was firestorm, so yeah, 50% arrogant, 50% strange, 50% rambling on about whatever, and 50% bad maths. Oh, and about 2% sprite making and music composition.

feline monstrosity - September 14, 2007 09:14 AM (GMT)
I didn't vote for you because by the way you and the others put it you didn't seem to have as much time to dedicate.

Kalieum - September 14, 2007 03:09 PM (GMT)
What I said was that I didn't know as well as the others did how much time I'd have. The way it seems currently, I *would* have enough time to do it, say on Saturdays for the weekly updates etc.

feline monstrosity - September 14, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
Well, Morsh seemed more certain that he'd be able to, sorry. At least I nominated you!

Voronnen - September 14, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
New member, "guyman2" just signed up.

Alright, I sent a PM to this "guyman2" welcoming him to the forums... He should be responding soon...

Kalieum - September 14, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
Feline - Yeah, fair enough. I'm not really bothered, I just like to know stuff (even if I may forget it soon after).

Morsh - September 15, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
This is off-topic, but I didn't know Kalieum was firestorm!

Me and you once got into an argument about religion, if you recall.

Fortunately, I'm much more mellowed-out now (not in the drug-user mellowed-out way, but just in the grown-up mellowed-out way).

osel - September 15, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
I WANT STEVE TO BE BACK WAAAAA!!!!

lol sry, but who ever ends up winning they still are both losers. i mean winners, yeah winners.

it just won't be the same... if only steve would mahicly heal his wrist and it would all be so happy
