Title: Splatterhouse retrospective
Description: Horrorhound #14, November

corpse monger - August 28, 2008 06:57 AM (GMT)

....I picked up the new issue of Previews today, and saw in the ad for Horrorhound Magazine #14 (out in Nov.), there's a Splatterhouse retrospective amongst the contents.

Let me take a moment to vouch for this magazine....it's the best horro magazine on the stands, out-radding Fangoria by a country mile & second MAYBE only to Rue Morgue. Their retrospectives are always awesome and thorough, and it's the best 'zine visually as well, so you can bet it'll LOOK beautiful too.

I can only assume they'll have some (at least cursory) stuff on the SH reboot as well.

Save those pennies! Wait, don't....the damn thing's only $7, compared to Fango's, like, $10.

Huzzah!

Since I usually don't buy magazines, what are the odds I could get you to make some scans for me for the site? :smug

I wish they sold Rue morgue and HorrorHound over here in Ireland.
We get Fangoria which I find quite good if not a little juvenile, and (bleeeeuuuurggh) Gorezone, which calls itself "Vogue for horror" and sucks. It has spelling mistakes galore and reviews comprised of other peoples reviews.

That mag sounds good. I wanna see scans!!

Ooooh Scans Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!

(Look at the amount of e's up there, that's how serious I am)

Here in the UK we only have Fangoria, Gorezone and The Dark Side :(

corpse monger - August 28, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)

....The Darkside seems like a pretty badass magazine, I've often considered subscribing. I've got theier definitive book on zombies movies, and it blows me away.

But yes, even though we're a ways off, I'd be more than happy to scan the SH in when Horrorhound #14 comes out. I tell ya....that mag is ribs (ribs = excellent).

I may try & scan some of the pages from current issues when I get a chance, so our over-seas bretheren can get a taste, maybe subscribe if they like what they see. :smokin

Sounds interesting... Very interesting!

For those of you that don't know, you're going to see a very familiar name listed as one of the authors of the retrospective when the mag hits. Care to take a guess as to who that might be? :smug

Dire 51 - November 12, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
Since no one bothered to guess... and I'm sure most of you have figured it out or known about this already... the author in question is me. I got my copy today and am quite pleased with how it looks, although I do want to compare the article with my original draft to see what was changed.

Expect to see scans up here in the near future!
