Title: SSBM
Description: Super Smash Bros. Melee

barkera0 - July 14, 2004 02:43 AM (GMT)
It took me ages to get around to gettin it but I have it now. Its fantastic! Its so much better than the 64 one. I've opened up all the courses and all characters except two. I'm trying to open up Mewtwo now but It takes a heap of efforet. I either have to play 800 V.S matches or 20 hours of V.S Matches. I'm working on it now.
Any of you have the game?

RanmaJAG - July 14, 2004 02:28 PM (GMT)
SSBM is a really great game, I've unlocked all the characters and you don't have to play 800 V.S matches. If you have four controlers just set them all to human because the more"people" you have the less time it takes, here's what someone wrote:

QUOTE
It should be noted that the time required is divided by the number of human-controlled characters playing.  For example, if you have 3 human-controlled characters playing, 20/3 = 6.666... which is approximately 6 hours and 36 minutes.  You also must have at least one human-controlled character since math dictates that 20/0 = undefined.

This is what I did to get Mewtwo, had to borrow a few controlers tho.

barkera0 - July 16, 2004 04:49 AM (GMT)
Cool, thanks for that!

RanmaJAG - July 16, 2004 01:44 PM (GMT)
No problem.

barkera0 - July 18, 2004 11:40 PM (GMT)
I got Mewtwo Yesterday and I got Mr. Game & Watch today!

RanmaJAG - July 22, 2004 07:45 PM (GMT)
That's great! Do you have any more characters you need help with?

barkera0 - July 23, 2004 06:58 AM (GMT)
Nup, got them all now. Though how do you hit 1000 metres in the Home-run Contest? My best is only 385! :(

barkera0 - July 24, 2004 09:22 AM (GMT)
Oh! :o I found out that my game measures in meters (it hadn't registered before :P ) I only had to hit it about 400 meters to = 1000 feet! My best is now 460 with Ganon! :D

crazed_link_lover - March 21, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)

crazed_link_lover - March 22, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)

Dragonas - March 25, 2005 09:39 AM (GMT)
ive beaten everything yes even all star mode with every character and i have over 300 trophies and im bored so here
Super Smash Brothers - Melee

Dr. Mario
---------
Successfully complete the game in classic mode as Mario.

Alternately, play 100 versus mode matches. The winner of the
100th match will fight Dr. Mario. Defeat him and he will
become a playable character.

Instead of shooting fireballs like Mario, Dr. Mario shoots
pills. Dr. Mario's cape is just the coat on his doctor uniform.

Falco Lombardi
--------------
Complete the 100 man melee.

Alternately, play 300 versus mode matches.

Gannondorf
----------
Complete event mode #29 (Triforce Gathering) to unlock
Ganondorf.

Jigglypuff (Purin)
------------------
Successfully complete the game with any character under
any difficulty setting. Continues are allowed.

Alternately, fight 50 multi-player battles.

Luigi
-----
Complete the first stage of adventure mode with a time of
3:32:99 to 3:32:00. You will have to battle Luigi and defeat
him in under one minute. Finish the remainder of adventure
mode. At the end of adventure mode you will fight Luigi.
Defeat Luigi and he will become a playable character.

Alternately, finish the first stage of adventure mode with a
time ending in 2 seconds, such as x:x2:xx.

Alternately, playing 800 versus mode battles. After you have
played 800 battles, the winner of the battle will be challenged
by Luigi. Defeat him and he will become a playable character.
If you lose, Luigi will challenge the winner of the next versus
mode battle.

Mewtwo
------
Mewtwo will appear at random at the end of a multi-player match
and challenge the winner. He will be unlocked as a selectable
character after he is defeated. Alternately, in versus mode,
play 700 battles or get a total of 20 hours of game play.

To unlock Mewtwo, play 20 hours in melee vs. mode (combined umber
of human players times the number of hours). For example, if you
play 1 human player vs. 3 CPU players, play 20 hours; 2 players
vs. 2 CPU players, play 10 hours; 3 players vs. 1 CPU player,
7 hours; 4 player vs., 5 hours.

To get Mewtwo easily, go into Custom Rules Melee and change
"Stock" to "3" and "Item Flow" to "None", and "Stock Time Limit"
to "Off". Choose two of your best characters (for fighting Mewtwo)
and go into a match in the Pokemon Stadium level. Place both
fighters on the Pokeball in the middle. Do not pause the game.
Unplug the controllers, and leave the system on overnight to
accumulate game time. Plug in the controllers again, and have
one of the fighters die three times. If enough hours have been
obtained, Mewtwo will challenge you. Defeat him to unlock him
next to Jigglypuff as a playable character.

This trick is useful if you do not have a second controller and
want to unlock Mewtwo. Enter the "Custom Settings" screen, and
set up a versus game with a "Damage Ratio" of "0.5" and a "Stock"
of "99". Start a Tiny Melee with a human as player one (preferably
being a character you can defeat Mewtwo with) and three other
players at a low CPU level of 1. Start the game at Hyrule Temple,
then leave it idle overnight. For best results, have the three
CPU players be Captain Falcon, Prince Marth, and Pikachu. About
eight and a half hours later, the fight should just have ended.
Repeat the process every night until you have accumulated twenty
hours and can fight Mewtwo. However, the human player should be
the winner of the final fight or Mewtwo may not appear. Note:
You can see how many versus hours you have accumulated by going
to the "Misc VS Data" section.

Set up a one life battle with as many humans as possible and no CPU
players. Leave the game on overnight, then defeat the other players a
nd Mewtwo.

Mr. Game & Watch
----------------
Complete the game in classic mode with all characters.

Alternately, complete the target test mode with all of the other
24 characters.

Alternately, play over 1,000 versus mode matches.

Alternately, unlock all the stages, then complete the game all the
other 24 characters.

Pichu
-----
Accomplish one of the following:

Unlock both Luigi and Falco to unlock event mode #37 (Legendary Pokemon).
Complete event mode #37. After winning, Pichu will become playable.
Complete adventure mode as Mewtwo.
Play 200 matches in versus mode.

Prince Marth
------------
Play with all 14 default characters in classic mode without continuing.
Alternately, play vs. mode more than 400 times.

Alternately, play versus mode with all of the default characters. Marth
will challenge the last character you played as (if you won the match).
If you lose against him, then he will reappear to challenge the winner
of the next versus match.

Alternately, successfully complete the single player game in classic mode
with Ness under very easy difficulty setting without continuing.

Roy
---
Successfully complete the game as Prince Marth in classic mode.
Alternately, play over 900 versus mode matches.

Young Link
----------
Finish classic mode 10 times with different characters each time.
One time must be with Link.
Alternately, complete adventure mode as Ganondorf.
Alternately, play 500 versus mode matches.
Alternately, defeat Master Hand with 03:33 as a time. An easy way to do
this is to lower his health down to 1 or 2 HP, then kill him when time
reaches 03:33.

Battlefield stage
-----------------
Successfully complete the game in all-star mode.

Big Blue stage:
Play 50 multi-player matches. Either the Brinstar Depths, Fourside,
Poke Floats, and Big Blue will be randomly unlocked every 50 matches.

Mario Brothers 2. Try putting a lot of coins in the lottery to get it.

Poke Floats stage
-----------------
Play 50 multi-player matches. Either the Brinstar Depths, Fourside, Poke
Floats, and Big Blue will be randomly unlocked every 50 matches. Play
another 50 matches to unlock the next stage until all are unlocked.

Alternately, play 200 multi-player matches.

Yoshi's Island stage
--------------------
Hit over 1300 feet in homerun derby mode with any character.

Random stage select
-------------------
To unlock the "Random Stage Select" option in Additional Melee Rules,
first unlock all of the stages except Battlefield, Final Destination,
and the three Past Stages. This allows you to decide which stages will
be included and which will be omitted when you randomly select a stage.

Alternately, complete classic mode with all characters.

Extra Events (#31-#39)
----------------------
Complete the first 30 events and unlock Jigglypuff, Luigi, Dr. Mario,
Falco, and Young Link

Extra Events (#40-#50)
---------------------
Unlock all the characters in the game.

Event #51
---------
Clear all other events.

Alternate music
---------------
Hold L or R and select a stage in multi-player mode. Keep the button
held until the match begins. Note: Only certain stages have new music.

Hold A and press Start at the title screen. Different music will play
at the main menu.

Hold L + R + Z + A + X + Y at the title screen. The music on the menu
should change. Sometimes it will require multiple tries.

Use the following trick to listen to any desired music in the gallery
of trophies. After unlocking the Sound Test, use it to find a song you
like, then press A to play it. Then, press B to exit. When you go to
the trophy gallery, that song will be playing instead of the usual one.

By selecting a stage with A or holding L or R and pressing A, the stage
will have different music.

To change colors of any player:
-------------------------------

Choose Link. Put the level on very easy and choose 5 lives.
Beat the masterhand and jigglypuff. Choose jigglypuff in adventure mode.

The Joyful kun - March 30, 2005 06:01 AM (GMT)
I started playing Super Smash Bros. Melee two years ago after I bought a Nintendo Gamecube Japanese version, however I was still able to play the import version with the language set to English (selectable) like the North American version. Currently I have unlocked all hidden stages, extra characters, and the Sound Test, but I haven't completed Adventure and All-Star mode with all characters yet. It was also my first Gamecube game I played.

Dragonas - March 30, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
