Title: women @ underwire bra's
Description: having to turn off VNS and tape magnet t

[COLOR=blue][FONT=Courier][SIZE=7]I have been having problems since I've had the VNS implanted. I have to turn the darn thing off in order to feel normal. And every time I have it turned up, within 3 days I have a seizure! I wear an underwire and was wondering if any woman knows anything about having the magnet too close to the underwire and the effects it would pose! : cat :

Unless the metal in the underwire was magnetic....which is very unlikely since most underwire bras aren't even metal anymore, I doubt very much if this is a problem. :no2:

The VNS can induce seizures, this is one of the side effects. You may need to have the parameters adjusted or allow the body more time to adjust to the settings. : g :

I was dizzy for 3 days after my settings were increased. Had to hold onto stuff just to walk across the room.

Thank you for your input into this underwire thing!I've had the VNS since August and have had it turned up only 5 times so far. It acts crazy within me!And these seizures are still the same as always and going at about 2-3 times a week.I am also gaining weight and down to not wanting to eat at all because being slimmer all my life and now heavier and not knowing what to do is getting me a bit depressed! :So Sad: Well I'll keep trying! HI, Tigerlily-
I can tell you what happened to me. I had more seizure, not less with my VNS. My breast were sore all the time! ( sorry guys ) and I like you,I gained weight, and it didn't come off no matter what I did. In the long run I had so many issues I had to turn it off. Hopefully you will get around yours, I just wante to let you know what you're going through isn't that out of the ordinary.

About 11 years ago, when my wife was just an interesting chick that I had met recently, a buddy and I were enlisted to help her move from one apartment complex to another.

In the process of moving her washer and dryer out of her old apartment, my buddy and I noticed a strange looking U shaped wire on the carpet where the dryer used to sit. Uh-oh we thought - were we too rough on the dryer and cause a part to fall out?

No, sadly, my wife laughed at us for not realizing it was an underwire from one of her bras.

This has nothing to do with the questions posed in the initial post, but I thought it might make you ladies smile.

Jan,

Sorry to hear you are having some problems with your VNS. Come this summer it will be 3 years since mine was implant. It took at least one year before I notice any improvement. Each time mine was raised up it took a few days for me to get use to it, and in those days I would have some spells. After those days were over things would get back to normal.

Currently I am having a great deal lest than I did before the implant and they are not as long.

Everyone is different with the VNS, just as they are with other treatments of all types in every medical problem. You just have to wait and be patient with it.

As for the wiring I can't say.

Hope you have a change with your VNS.

Darlene

OK - OK! I am completly new to this, so please bear with me. While looking for some information, I came across your question. Recently, while on a trip, I had a really hard time with dizziness. The day before, I had the stimulator increased. Was slightly dizzy, but felt like it would get better as the day wore on. It got to the point I felt that I needed to use my magnet. This is where my bra came into play - I slipped it onto my bra-strap, which lays right over my implant. The DIZZINESS got MUCH worse. During the 90 minute drive, and yes I was driving, the stimulator went off 4 times, even though I had the magnet in place. After many phone calls, I got an answer. Although the magnet was strapped to my bra-strap, every time it was moved - lifted - rearranged, it set the stimulator off. Moving of the magnet sent the stimulator back into a cycle. The stimulator was set a bit high, but my moving the magnet was also aggrevating the process. The bra-strap is NOT the place for the magnet. (This was the first time I had ever used the magnet.) I was told that it needs to be "taped securely" onto my chest. Rough thing to learn the hard way. It did help tremendously with keeping the stimulator off, which in turn did away with the dizziness. I did end up having the setting set back down to do away with most of the dizziness and magnet. Don't know if this helps or not - wanted to make sure this wasn't the situation with you.

Sorry this was so long, I'll try to keep it short and sweet from now on. :)
