Hee-hee! Reporters don't need to count, just blow it out of proportion. :no2:
"Scientific Fronteers" with host Alan Alda for PBS did an episode on obesity. This implantable gastric stimulator was just a small part of the show but at the time, looked very promising. They did stress that is was in trials and very new. (15 participants) They also stated it worked best for "grazers" people who constantly nibble.
The attachment is done at a specific spot within the stomach wall. Anywhere else, just didn't work. However, unlike the VNS this surgery is COMPLETELY reversable, a much more desired effect. Unfortunatly, people gained the weight back.
Oh well, Back to the drawing board.
