I am strongly thinking about getting vns therapy for depression.... the only thing that concerns me is the missing myelin sheath in the brain. Is this machine going to have to do double duty so to speak to make up for it being gone?
Since I've been fighting this depression I've gained so much weight. Is that a side effect?
The other thing that concerns me is when I logged on to the board I see that lawyers have already got law suits going against the company for damaged vagus nerve damage.
That's a pretty important nerve to be damaged what likely effects will it have on the ability to live with the vagus nerve damaged?
I also seen that only one doctor will take the lead off the nerve and that was only in children? Can that be explained?
Any feedback would be great appreciated.

This is definately a queston for the surgeon and neurologist.
Removing the coils off the Vagal Nerve is not reccomended. Please take some time to read the PHYSICIANS MANUAL. Be sure you ask any and all questions you have before you have the device placed.
