I too began to lose weight, about 8 months after VNS surgery, dropping to my lowest as an adult after about 12 months.

Apparently, at higher levels of stimulation, the VNS can cause the brain to think the stomach is full, when it is not. It was only when I had lost about 14lbs that something was done. Since then, with my stimulation levels lower than the maximum suggested, I have returned to my normal weight, but it got very scary. At 6ft 2in, I've always been underweight, so to lose almost 10% of my bodyweight in about 12 months was worrying.

I'm still very skinny, but at 11st 5lbs, I am relieved that I am at least back to what I consider "normal" for me. The generator is still very visible though. I guess it always will be for me.
