Title: Who's ready for Spring!!!!!!!!!
Description: warm weather

labrat - March 12, 2008 06:04 PM (GMT)
Here in Georgia we are being teased with warm spring days. I'm not ready for hot weather, but Spring is nice.

We just had snow on Saturday!

Petunia - March 12, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
It snowed here today! I WANT HOT WEATHER. The hotter the better as far as I'm concerned.

I'm ready for Spring. We had 16 inches of snow here last Friday and Saturday. It was beautiful...all the drifting was like art work. Getting out in it was a different matter...The leaves of some of my jonquils are peaking up an inch already...I hated to see them buried under the snow! We're likely to get at least one more decent snow in the Ohio valley before Spring comes to stay.

The trees are budding and it is definitely starting to feel like spring. Still have frost on the roofs and such in the morning but doesn't take long to burn off. Waiting for the first crocus!!! Then I will know for sure it is just around the corner!

This has been a long snowy winter for us here in Illinois and I believe many across the states have the same opinion. Old Man Winter can pack his bags and leave none too soon!!!

I know we are in for another cold wave before it is all over.

It is still jacket weather in the morning with a little ice on the windshied.

Birdbomb - March 13, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
It's almost 80 degrees here today! Too damn hot! user posted image
But the winds are due back tomorrow and another front is headed in just in time for the weekend.
<_<

labrat - March 13, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
Toss in some humidity with that heat! Maybe 97%!!!

SezLuv - March 13, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
Heck i wouldn't mind goood 60-70 degrees out so it wouldn't be to hot in the house, but warm enough to go out with a light jacket or long sleeves.

I hate the heat and humidity down here in NC ..its sufficating to me.. going in air conditioned buildings and then coming out to hot humidity .. ect .. makes it hard to breath at times and definately sweating then coming into a/c can cause colds.

I am ready for winter again! I have seasonal allergies and they started in February for me and the last few days have been awful!! I live in central Illinois and it does get warm and we usually have a nice spring but man does my nose itch!

I was feeling so grateful to have this place to come to today. Thank you for that.

I could do with Spring coming. Took a couple of days off work (Mon and Tue) to clear rubble and rubbish from the loft, garden and shed, and take it to the local dump. Of course, I can't drive, so we put all the stuff in my wife's car. It took 6 trips - what with all the concrete, glass, timber and boxes of junk from the loft.

And what a couple of days to take off to do the work. At least there weren't many idiots doing the same thing. The wind and rain kept them away, but it meant I did get rather wet.

Roll on Spring

It has been warm off and on here in Western Maryland. I saw three robins in my front yard the other day. So, I know spring is coming. It has been above freezing, which I am grateful for anytime here.

I really can't count on spring like weather staying here for sure until April/May. Not meaning to be negative. But, last year it was nice for awhile; then we got slammed with cold weather in April. After everything had come up out of the ground. So, that really screwed up the plants/buds.

It has been warmer here lately. It will be nice to open the windows, and let the air come in. I have been feeling agitated, irritable lately for some reason. I don't know why. I just feel bitchy at times, this weekend especially. I felt this way some last year as well. Hypomania? possibly. So? I guess it's better than being depressed.

Sincerely,
Bonnie

Coming out of depression, I felt bitchy and irritable. I has Psychological testing and it showed that I needed a mood stabilizer. Geodon is what I take for that now.

I don't know if it would help in your situation. I think ECT's caused it.

Bonnie - March 16, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)

Dear Labrat,

More good news! :Really Mad: I am ON a mood stabilizer. And I don't want to take anymore drugs. I am taking Seroquel right now. And am weaning off Topamax slowly. I am taking 100mg of that every night for one month; then my shrink lady says I can stop it, if I'm doing ok.

It seems people with mood disorders can't win, no matter what they do. So now, you are telling me that I am going to be moody coming out if depression?! I just can't win here! I am on 400mg of the Seroquel, and I do NOT want to take more of that. :no2:

I haven't had ECT in the past. I keep telling myself I shouldn't feel depressed, as I have the VNS. I should be feeling better, and I do for most part. But, I have had some down days lately. I guess I should go into the VENT area.

I feel all mixed up at times. Down and then up. Up as in feeling grumpy, agitated, irritated, bitchy, impatient, etc. etc. etc......WTF?! I feel like raising *ell. Oh, well.

Sincerely,
Bonnie

Bonnie,

When is your next appointment for a upping of your VNS?

Yes, I had mood swings, anger, rage. You are spiraling out just as you spiraled in.

Be careful with Seroquel, if you don't want to gain weight. It will pack the pounds on.

Bonnie I think those feeling and swings are actually normal. What labrat says makes perfect sense.
You didn't get that way in one single moment and one single momnet isn't going to make you better. It's ONE STEP AT A TIME. Some steps are baby steps, orhters are LEAPS, but TIME is the key.

Bonnie - March 17, 2008 03:21 PM (GMT)

Dear Labrat,

I am supposed to go sometime in April. For the VNS. I have not even made the appointment yet. Do you think I should go sooner? My last VNS appointment was in Feb. She said come back in April.

I do know about the Seroquel. I know it puts weight on a person. I weigh now 150. I'm now thinking of something else that doesn't put weight on you. If there is anything out there. I have already gained 5 pounds. I don't want to gain weight back, after loosing the 20 pounds I have lost.

You are taking Geodon. Does that make you gain weight? Seroquel is a good drug, but I do NOT want to gain weight back again. I don't see why I should have to take anything! My VNS doctor said I could cut my drugs this spring, and it IS spring now. :yes2: How has Geodon helped you? What are it's side effects? I hate to change drugs again, but I really do NOT want to gain weight back. Maybe I should read up on that one.

Sincerely,
Bonnie

labrat - March 17, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
Geodon has worked well as a mood stabalizer for me with no weight gain.

When in April are you going to the doctor? My doctor still sees me once a month.

Bonnie - March 17, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)

Dear Labrat,

Thanks for writing back. And the Geodon information. I haven't made the April appointment yet with my VNS doctor. I assume she will bump me up again(?). She really didn't say. But that is month I am supposed to see her.

I called my shrink lady (medicine doctor) and told her I didn't want to gain any weight back that I had lost. And I have already gained 5 pounds back. And is there anything else? She has not called back today, so she will probably call tomorrow. I am going to ask her about the Geodon.

I really hate to switch medicines again, but I don't want to gain that weight back, after loosing it. :no2: . I'm sure she will understand. She is pretty laid back. My hubby is also on Seroquel. And he has also gained the same amount of weight back. I don't want to even start down that road of weight gain. I would rather switch to something else, than gain weight back.

I wish the Topamax didn't cause hair loss, as that one doesn't cause weight gain. I wish they made more drugs that didn't cause weight gain. DAMN IT! Being bipolar, I probably won't ever be off a mood stabilizer(?).

Sincerely,
Bonnie

labrat - March 17, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
I've had to accept the fact that I will always take medication because I am Bi Polar. Remember that different medications work differnet for different people. I hope you can find something that doesn't make you gain weight. :kicking:

Bonnie - March 18, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)

Dear Labrat,/ and anyone else with depression/bipolar,

Today is Tuesday. My shrink/medicine lady didn't call me back yesterday. So, I'm hoping she will call me back today. I am going to ask her about the Geodon. I don't want to wean off too many drugs at the same time here.

What I would like to do is try and take less of the Seroquel. I don't even feel it's effects anyway. It knocks out my hubby at night time. It doesn't do that to me at all. I wish it did.

There are the antiseizure medications, but they all make your hair fall out it appears. Do you know any that don't? I just thought I would ask, as you may have been on some of those. :yes2:

I may ask this question on the mental health board I belong to, as well.

Thanks to anyone who responds.
Sincerely,
Bonnie
