Our son makes a loud noise while he breathing during sleep. Has
anyone else with a VNS experienced this and have you been able to
solve it?

:D HI dcortright and :Welcome: to the VNS Message Board! Glad you joined us!

I'm sorry I haven't answerd your post sooner-I am having computer issues!

A lot of people develop sleep apnea with VNS. Breathing & sleep problems are not uncommon. Please talk this over with your son's doctor-you want to be sure he is getting enough oxygen while he is sleeping.

Please update us on how your son is doing! Take care!

Hi Dcortright and Welcome to the Forum,

As Dispatch said in her post, it is not uncommon for people with VNS implanted to have breathing problems during their sleep, such as sleep apnea. As Dispatch suggested, be sure to talk to your son's doctor about this change in his sleeping habit so that they can check oxygen levels, possibly do a sleep study, etc.

Please keep in touch and let us know what you find out from the doctor.
