Title: 5 Year Anniversary!
Description: Can you believe it?

Birdbomb - February 22, 2009 08:06 AM (GMT)
Feburuary 18th was the 5 year Anniversary of the birth of The VNS Message Board!

I would like to take this time to tell everyone how much I appreciate all the effort and hard work my Moderators put into this site. It can be very stressful and trying at times but also very rewarding.
I'd also like to say how much I appreciate the members, many who return regularly and post our URL on other sites. And I also appreciate all the 100's of daily visitors who use all the information posted here.

Over the past 5 years, we have gone through many changes but the one thing we have always been consistent and prided ourselves with is honesty. My staff has been carefully chosen to keep this ideal alive. We may not all agree about the quality or usefulness of VNS but we all agree to keep it open and real.

Thank you to each and every one, who has participated and been part of the VNS family. Looking forward to keeping this site alive many more years!

Sincerely,

Donna Baum

And I thank you Birdbomb for providing the perfect forum for me to tell the world all about my hatred of Cyberonics and their little stimulator.

:D HI Everyone!

When I became a Member of this board close to a year ago, I was lost regarding what was happening to me because of VNS. The lack of support I had from my then treating Physicians was soon replaced in abundance with support I have continuously received from the Members here. This board has been a place I have always been able to count on to give me the real story about VNS and other forms of treatment both good and bad. I have corresponded with very lovely people who also pride themselves in keeping it real and being honest. These are qualities that make the world a better place!

I was given the responsibility to become a Moderator then Global Moderator which I honorably and gladly accepted. These opportunities did came with some stress, but it has been such a positive thing for me. It has been a pleasure for me to not only have the opportunity to learn, but the biggest pleasure is being able to support others who come here looking for the same thing I was when I became a Member-support, guidance, and the truth.

Donna, :Thanx: for starting this board. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! :im_033: I don't know if you realize the positive impact you have had on so many people. To the other Moderators/Admin Team and Members, :Thanx: for being there for me in good times & bad. I can't find enough words to say that would explain just how much you all mean to me. My time with the VNS Message Board has become a very valuable & important part of my daily life, not because I'm a Global Moderator, but because of the support & knowledge I receive and can share.

I look forward to the future of this board, and continuing to be a part of its success!

Ya'll take great care of yourselves!

... and a BIG thank you from me too. Finding others who have the same little machine buzzing away inside has been a huge help, psychologically.

I was so thankful when I found this message board. I continue to be thankful, grateful and totally in awe of all the people who share and support. Lots of life is tough...it's so much nicer when you find a friend who knows from personal experience what you're going through.

I look forward to hanging out with you all for a long, long time! Oreo

Thank you, Donna! When I came here in May 2007, I didn't know much about VNS. This forum and my friends I have come to know here have been a wonderful help to me through this time.

And as you pointed out, we may not always agree but we do agree that the truth must be shared with everyone, no hidden agendas or propaganda. For some, VNS has proven to be very beneficial, in fact completely changing some's lives. For others, it has been a horror. But the point is that we show all sides and allow people to make an educated decision, while supporting each other throughout whatever treatment they choose.

:Thanx:
