Hello everyone. Its been awhile since I have been on. Hopefully all is well. Myself things are going fairly good. I have been adjusting to life with my VNS without many problems. I am currently set on a setting of 2.0 and have virtually no hoarseness. As a matter of fact most of my co-workers do not even notice when its activating. Personally, I dont even feel it most of the time.
Anyway, on to the point of my post. I was at a Dr.'s appointment last week having a tegretol level check when I was asked if I had received anything from Cyberonics advising of the recall for my VNS. I had not. The nurse then brought in a letter from Cyberonics advising that there is a recall on the Model 103 Demipulse Generator. Evidently, there have been cases where the generator has turned itself off and doesnt work. I dont think there is a problem with mine personally, however I just wanted to let others know who may have this model and have not heard anything. I have another appointment at the end of April and the Cyberonics Rep is going to be in the appointment as well. I would encourage anyone who thinks there may be a problem to contact their doctor to find out more.

I wonder if it's related to the problem they had with the 102. That one hit EOS without warning and often much sooner than anticipated.
Just remember, if there are any changes in your condition ie, more seizures, deepening depression, get to the doctor and have the unit evaluated.
