Title: VNS back on
lorkon - April 20, 2009 08:10 PM (GMT)
I went to my neuro today and had my VNS turned back on, but at a low dose. Long ago it was up to 2 but today he turned it on just to .75

Why did you decide to turn your VNS back on?
lorkon - April 20, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
Petunia, I had more seizures with it off.

Hi Lorkon,
I hope you have good luck with VNS now and that the seizures decrease. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing.
Hugs,
Cindy

:D HI Lorkon!
I too am wishing you the best of luck with having the device turned back on.
If you don't mind me asking, why did your Neuro start you at .75? I know every doc seems to do VNS different with each patient, but when I had to have mine off for surgery, my doc wouldn't turn it back on to the miliamps I was set at saying it could damage the nerve if she didn't start it at .25 and work back up.
Please update us on how you are doing!
Take great care!

I'm curious too about the .75 setting. Does it hurt?
lorkon - April 23, 2009 03:17 PM (GMT)
I didn't even know .75 was high.
Anyway, I'm having a little headache condition after having it on a few days. My head feels sorta like it is slowly growing. I called today & I am going back this afternoon & getting it turned off, before my head explodes in the future.

Why not just have him lower the setting to .25 and take your time going up? He can adjust the parameters to help with the head ache too, Tell him to lower that thing down.

.25 should have been where you were started!
