Title: Cyberonics Physicians and Patients Manuals
Description: getting a copy

NancyB - May 6, 2009 12:02 PM (GMT)
Good morning everybody! First of all, Judy is adjusting pretty well to being back home. I think it is starting to really sink in to her on just how much she has lost. We are having a slight problem though. Judy needs to see a neurologist on a regular basis because of her seizures and she is talking about going back to the same doctor who ignored her when she was admitted to the psychiatric hospital. I know he knew that the device was causing her to have this "all of a sudden" psychosis, but if I didn't raise hell about getting it taken out she'd still be in the institution WITH the device in-tact. When we try to explain to her that she needs to find another doctor, she seems so lost, like she doesn't know where to begin to look for one. Does anybody know how to find a competant neurologist in the New York state area? Also, it is imperative that I retrieve a copy of both the Physicians and Patients manuals given out by Cyberonics. How can I get these? I really have to have them and I cannot figure out how to get them. I would be blown away if anyone could tell me how to get them. Please, you all have been so much help and I just know someone has the answer. Thankyou all so much for everything you have done for me and my family. You are truly the wind beneath my wings. NancyB

:D HI NancyB!

I am so happy to hear Judy is home & adjusting well. I am sure it will take some time for her & your family to adjust. There have been so many changes for you all. I will continue to keep everyone in my good thoughts & prayers!

You can download & print the Physicians & Patient manuals right here from the site. If you go to the main page of the site, you will find them there. If you are wanting a hard copy directly from Cyberonics, you'll have to call them which I am sure you don't want to do.

To search for a Neurologist online, just google Neurologists and the city you want to find one in. Or, you can contact her insurance company & ask for some names. I can greatly appreciate you not wanting her to go back to the original Neurologist. Maybe Judy wants to because he is familiar to her, and it is scarey for her to involve yet another doc. In my opinion, I would try and persuade her to get a fresh opinion & outlook.

Please do keep us updated and all the best of luck to you all! Take care!
