Title: Lexapro and libido.
Description: Lexapro and libido.

Hello everyone again. Even though I have written about my success with my implant, has anyone heard of any new medicines out there that deal with countering the sexual side effects of Lexapro.
I tried with my doctor several times to reduce my Lexapro dosage but my depression symptoms kept coming back.
Before the implant, Lexapro was not helping me out. But, after the implant Lexapro and my VNS were a perfect combination. They each complement each other together but separated they don't stop the depression.
It is quite horrible that when you finally come out of this depression nightmare a side effect from a drug has to spoil it.
For several years now I have been taking Lexapro 20mg. If I go lower things get real bad. I was hoping that with the VNS I could either stop taking anti-depressants or at least lower Lexapro. This has not been the case.
Thank you for your input.

Patrick

:) HI Patrick!

Have you talked with your doc about this issue? There are drugs out there to help libido. I'm not sure how they would counter-react your VNS and current med(s), but it would be worth talking to your doc about.

On the othe hand, I am really happy you are doing so well with VNS and Lexapro combination. I have heard that some people do really well with a small med regimin and VNS. :Great!:

Take great care!

Hi Dispatch,

I have talked to my doctor in the past. No success. SSRI's have a history of destroying libido.

It's been about 5 years i've been on Topamax and haven't had a libido. I have begged many doctors for help. Nothing! I feel your pain!

Hi Petunia,

We both have no choice. Hopefully there will come a drug to counter the effect of these drugs.

I'm trying going on hormones to see if that will help. Not so far.
