I was told by the hospital that if the hospital gives you a "pill" to take, Medicare calls that Self Medication, and will not pay!!!

I will make sure I ask for a shot or for them to put my medicine in the IV (if I have one).

Just thought you all should know.

I was given a cough syrup last week. The doctor asked if had medicare for presciptions. I was told good medicare wouldn't pay for it because it has a narcotic in it. Thank goodness I have private insurance.
