The
Intercept Epilepsy Control System and the
NeuroPace are two new implant devices for epilepsy that are currently in the testing phase.
The big difference between these systems and the VNS is that these systems implant electrodes directly into the brain.
I don't know how many
Intercept devices there are, but it has been reported that there are
less than 60 NeuroPace devices currently in use.
