Title: Actors you like to see on TWW!?
Description: I'd like to see _____ on the West Wing.

This is the place to name the person(s)\actor(s) you like to see on The West Wing. Like me... I'd like to see Patrick Stewart on The West Wing. I think he'd do a great job. Maybe as a more involved VP.

Patrick Stewart is best known for his many wonderful roles in both the movies and on television. He played Picard on Star Trek both on the small and the silver screen. He played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings triligoy.

He is shown in my avatar as Picard\Locutus of Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation. [BTW: this is NOT where my S\N comes from... I used Locutus long before the Borg used it on ST:TNG (albeit not THAT long before!). Locutus means "The one who speaks." And I do a lot of speaking.]

Anyway, Stewart is a GREAT actor and I'd love to see him on TWW.

If there is any actor you'd like to see on The West Wing, that hasn't already been seen on the show, tell us here.

I think it would be great to see one of Sheen's sons on the show, I know the actress who plays Nancy is his daughter [ Renée Estevez ] but a little more nepotism might be a good idea!?!

Gandalf is played by Ian McKellen. Patrick Stewart played Professor Xavier in X-Men.

Which version of TLOTR are you thinking of? ;) (i.e. he did play that part at one time... and the newer version of TLOTR isn't the only version of it ever produced... and it has been played on stage many times.) And yes he was Prof. X... He did that role well! :) He also did a great job playing in Moby Dick (One of the, if not the very, best novel ever written.) I think you have figured out that I’m a Stewart fan!

As far as seeing another Sheen on TWW... I think maybe that would be a good idea only if the two are fighting with one another.

Another actor I'd like to see on TWW is Michael J. Fox. I think he'd do a great job as a congressman.

Well you said LOTR trilogy, so it must be the one with Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood. There is another version (animated) of LOTR from 1978 where Gandalf is played by William Squire, but it's not a trilogy.

Hmm... NO! lol Let me show you...

There has also been a couple of different animated versions... There was even a series type thing based around the trilogy.

BTW: I am the biggest Stewart fan and I don't like to be second guessed as I have followed him for MANY years... and BTW TLOTR has been a trilogy since Tolkien published it... as it came out in three parts in 1954-56.

The Lord of The Rings was an "adult" sequel to his "children’s" book, "The Hobbit" published by Unwin. It was planned that another sequel would follow TLOTR but that didn't happen. TLOTR was, at first, turned down by the publishers of "The Hobbit." But at the bequest of the son of Unwin, it was published (this was the second time it was left up to the son).

I am an avid TLOTR fan even b4 the release of "The Trilogy." My favorite aspect of it would be that Unwin left it up to his 10 year old if "The Hobbit," the book that would launch Tolkien's writing career, would be published or not... a ten year old! (Some even say that he had to pay the kid a shilling to read it. But not all say this.) At this point I could continue, but I digress.

Stewart also played "The Wizard" on "The Wizard of Oz" but, of course, this wasn't the movie version... so... (He did it nicely too... Nice VFx!)

Now we need to get back to the original reason for this thread (i.e. if you want to keep this up do it in PMs).

Who would you like to see on TWW?

This time, I'd like to see GOLDBERG!

yes - March 17, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
Well that is also a misconception. Lord Of The Rings as Tolkien wrote it was not a trilogy, but more a hexalogy, consisting of six books in all. Only the publishers group them in two and released them in three books.

anyway gettting back to the west wing.....

I wonder why I'm still not banned from this forum?

Well that is off topic, again. Hmmm... are you trying to get yourself banned? Cause if you are there is three people you can talk to about that... me, ama and xShockwavex... I sure one of us can help with that. I'm going to bring this post to the attention of the admin and see what he has to say about it.

Now I'm going to try one last time to get this thread back on topic... I'll close it if this doesn't work.

This thread is for the following:

Naming actors you'd like to see guest appear on the West Wing that has not yet done so and a short reason as to why you chose that person.

That is all.

This time around I'd like to see Morgan Webb. Her natural quick wit would play well off the other characters.

I Don't think this will be a popular choice but how about Sly Stallone .......... with the whole thing of Arni becoming governor of california i think for those with a twisted sence of humor it would work..(did anyone see demolition man when sly woke up there is a reference to arni being the president)... i'm a new memer so i hope my view is ok and i don't want anyone to think i'm moking TWW cause i think it's fantasticly written the actors act there sock's off but there could be that sub-concious laugh there with sly.

plus not to get in the bad books but reading the last post it reminded me of an episode of west wing... when josh post a responce on www.lemonlyman.com...

Hey I agree it would be funny to have Sylvester Stallone on the west wing, but only if he was in a suit the WHOLE episode :) I don't know though it is hard to understand what he's saying a lot of the times. He could be a senator! I'm not a total Stallone fan but still it would be twisted funny to have him on the west wing. Plus, with the spirit of this thread, it is your choice... I'm just glad you stayed on topic ;-)

Humm that wont happen here... unless it goes against the rules or rubs one of the mods or the admin the wrong way. So far you're doing great.

Hmm... that was a take at me huh!? :P :: Gets out the bad books and a pen... one by bigblockofcheese :P :: Nah, it wasn't that bad... besides the person asked why s/he had not been banned yet... you ask something like that you are looking for a pointed response. But we don't need to get back into that.

Nice reference to the west wing though. I like that episode and just got finished watching it :)

I don't know about 'want' to see, as such, but whenever Joe Quincy's around, I'm always waiting for Monica, Joey et al to turn up.

Yeah, I'm not sure that I can think of Matthew Perry as a serious actor after Friends. I'd quite like to see Ainsley Hayles back in this place, but then maybe that's because I'm a red blooded male ;)

Vicki - April 4, 2005 08:20 PM (GMT)
I know what you mean, Dan. I loved Chandler in Friends, but, and maybe this was because he was such a strong character, I think 'Chandler' whenever I see Matthew Perry.

What happened to Ainsley, anyway? Did we ever find out?

Locutus - April 5, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
Ainsley went the way of many other well know characters on the show... under a rug in the basement but there is a whole thread dedicated to finding her.

And I think Mat. Perry did a good job in his guest role. I wouldn't like to see any other the other Friends on the show... it would be too much.

Matthew Perry was the only "friend" I think would ever really work... the others were either, in the case of Monica, too serious, or too umm... squinky I think is the way Phoebe put it. They just wouldn't work.

I'd like to see maybe Will Smith on the show this time. He could play a very good politician if he wanted too.

Vicki - May 24, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
How about Hugh Grant?

He could be Marbury's son/younger brother/cousin.
