Title: The West Wing Trivia
Description: Can you answer!?
Locutus - March 22, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
Here are the rules:
-You read the posted question, if you can answer the question (correctly) post the answer THEN you can post a new question (see below about multiple answer questions).
-Answers should be detailed. (I.E. - Don't JUST answer "The answer is President Bartlet" but answer "The answer is President Bartlet because he won the election.")
-I shouldn't have to say this but I will: new questions should be posted under the answers to the previous question in the same post. This is so you aren't guilty of double post. [I.E. - The answer is 7. Here's my Q.]
-Questions may have several answers only if they come from the same episode and deal with the same subject matter in that episode. If you know the answer to part of the question, you can post it but you CANNOT post a new question. The person giving the final answer may post a new question.
-If someone posts the final answer and doesn't post a new question, then it is open to anyone who wises to post a new question.
-You should list the amount of answers the question has.
-Questions MUST be DIRECTLY related to The West Wing. (I.E. - No “This person from the west wing was on what other show last night.” This question is directly related to another show and partly related to The West Wing.)
-Questions need not be confined to one episode unless it is a multiple answer question.
-The use of the internet, Google, and other search engines is highly frowned upon and if used you should say so. (I.E. - The answer is 7. BTW: I used Google.) This means that you shouldn't post questions that would require the use of the internet. (I.E. - How many times was the phrase "I work at the white house." said when Toby had to say it when he introduced himself?)
-Hints can not only be helpful but asked for. [They may also be necessary if your question, or part of your question, is particularly hard or tricky.]
-This is meant to be a serious thread.
-I have spent a good bit of time in refining these rules (I'm a bit of perfectionist), but if something isn't covered now, it will be when and if it arises. [I.E. - Rules subject to change.]
Question number one:
Q: In the episode "Hartsfield's Landing" with who else, besides Toby, is President Bartlet playing chess, how many moves until checkmate is one of them said to be originally by Bartlet, and who wins each game?
[6 answers]
HINT: The last part of this question is tricky. You should think about whom we know wins and if there can be a winner in the other games mentioned.

Sam is the other player and is 12 moves away from losing when the president starts playin against toby and the president wins both
Locutus - April 5, 2005 03:24 AM (GMT)
Close. But you got the last part completely wrong, but I'll give you that Bartlet beat Sam... And that's a BIG hint, here's another! Did the President win any of the other games he was playing during that episode? Is there one he cannot ever win? And you missed one other player.
Answer 1 Sam
Answer 2 12
Answer 3 Bartlet def. Sam

Glad you answered.

ok so i'm gonna have to watch that episode tonight but now you mention it .......toby ask's him how he became so good and the president tells toby about a guy from college that taught him so i think that might be the other player and that would meen he can never win that game cause that guy died....... but i'll get back to you after watching that episode again.
ok after a boring day at work with nothing to do but read westwing scrips this is the answers (i think)
The two other players are sam and david wheaton. there are 12 moves left bartlet beats sam the game with david wheaton will never won or lost because david was killed and toby topples over his king in surrender but bartlet says pick it up were not finished but we never find out ther result.
