Title: Talks of cancellation abound.
Description: The series finale of The West Wing...

While NBC decides weather or not to carry the seventh season of The West Wing the producers have been rumored to be saying, when asked about if there’ll be a S8 and S9, that he [Wells] feels that “there will almost defiantly be a S7 and possibly a S8, but,” He is rumored to then have said, “’you know what they say, All good things…’” Now I have been around for a while now… long enough to know the ending of that common phrase: “…must come to an end.” It seems that NBC may not renew their contract to carry S7+ as S6 was all they were contractually obligated to carry. But Wells thinks that they will carry it. He added [paraphrasing] that the upcoming elections are as much of a mystery to him as they are to us. He is in negotiations with the prospective casts to see which can fulfill a contractual obligation… if the only actor that can do it was written as a republican then a republican it will be. [that is unless wells doesn’t like him, of course but he has yet to endorse one over the other…] And reportedly he is fine with that. Also, no matter what, if the show returns, we will be seeing Bartlet again…

QUOTE
"If a new president comes into the White House, what happens to the old president? He's a compelling and complicated character and I'd be interested in episodes about what happens when you leave. What do you do next?" Wells said. "I don't think there's 22 episodes of those, but there are some interesting things to see and explore."

And when asked if Sheen was okay with his returning in this fashion he answered:

QUOTE
Oh, I’m in.

So, while it seems that S7 is a go… and a S8 is being talked over, a S9 may not be in the cards. It is true that most shows these days don’t live past S8 or S9 but usually this is due to the actors or writers wanting more money, both of which will be changing… Seems this talk of cancellation comes because of slipping ratings.

In any case, a decision will soon be made about the future of the show… I hope it is a good one.

I'm not a fan of Sam Seaborn or Rob Lowe in general... so if he returns it wont bother me but it wont thrill me either...

BTW: I like the AV.

This was my 300th post.
