Title: The Santos Administration
Description: Who is in and who is out, my opinion

OK, I thnk we all know that, if the West Wing is really going to have a chance ot keep developing (i.e. get a renewal for '06-'07 season), Santos has to be elected. The switch over would be relatively energizing but not too much a step out of the West Wing aura. Santos as President is going to be this young, outgoing, humble servant (a refreshing step away from Bartlett :P ), while Leo is going to be.....Leo, only mildly in awe of his new position, then very irritated by it, too. Still he can be Santos' Cheney. Santos' wife will be a welcome distance from Abby, too and the kids will be out of the way, I assume. Josh as Chief of Staff will be a wonderful frenetic update, while one can only assume that Margaret can stay put. I am thinking that Charlie and Donna would be great if they shifted over to policy advisers/deputies to V.P. Leo. Will needs to become the Communications Director. Kate Harper becomes the National Security Advisor. Annabeth stays on in her normal position as Media Relations. Ms. Fidderer stays on as the secretary, too. This is where I start creating....Josh Charles (formerly of Sports Night) comes on as the Press Secretary (he has some connections to Hoynes and is trsuted by Josh because of their background). Cliff Calley stays in the west wing as Josh's Deputy Chief of Staff (A great Republican voice who has Dem. credentials from of Bartlett admin. - brings about a Donna-Josh-Cliff triangle potential, too). Elizabeth Rohm (Law and Order fame) comes on as Will's assistant (I am thinking Peggy Noonan vibe, lots of running fingers through her golden mane - with poetry flowing from her pen). This leaves the WW cast of characters set, with the exception of some lesser secretary/exec. assistant roles (ala Donna and Ginger). I'd cast Kate Cuoco (8 Simple Rules), Daniella Monet (Listen Up) and Danica McKeller (Elsie Snuffin comes back as writing staff) as background secondary characters. Butterfield comes back as secret service boss, but I'd add Andre Braugher if possible as a recurring agent. Finally, there is the enduring question of what happens to C.J. and Toby. I am picturing Toby as a high-paid media consultant working out of his home who drops in once in a while (3 or 4 episodes) to stir Josh and bend Leo's ear. And C.J., fresh from being pardoned at midnight January 19th by Bartlett, moves back to California to be secluded, until she comes back (in a recurring role) to Washington to become a Politicial Analyst for a Fox News/Conservative-style network and to also look into a very private and personal romance with Leo. If this is the last season, we can tie up alot of loose ends with this set up, too. If this the beginning of another three or four years, this arrangement allows for the writers to focus upon Washington blood sport, ideas, and issues....with a small dash of the character drama. What do yu all think?
