Hi there Louis (and anyone else!), I'm Paula and I'm a huge West Winger too. Great idea to set up this forum! I've just watched the Season 5 finale and have to say, compared to other season, on the whole this one was probably the weakest. I think that's a lot to do with Aaron Sorkin leaving. However. can't wait for Season 6 and have to stop myself looking up the episode guides! Good luck with the site!

Cheers,

Paula

Hey, Louis....

Thanks for starting this site. I am an avid West Wing fan, and I enjoy talking about the show. I live on an island off of the coast of Maine and teach special education (life skills) to high school students with Autism, Down Syndrome, etc.

I find WW refreshing, given our current political realities in 2004.

I watch WW on Bravo, as well as on Wednesday evenings on NBC.

Stephen

Hey Louis, Stephen and Paula -
I am Lia and I abosolutely love the West Wing. I got hitched during Season 4. It was hard for me to watch on Wednesday nights because I volunteered for a youth group at my church and didn't get home until it was half over or more. I resigned my position this year - one, i needed a break and two, to watch TWW!
This summer I purchased Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. It was a good thing my husband worked - leaving at 4 or 5am and not getting home until 7pm or later- as I watched the eppies almost non-stop. I still managed to get the basic housework done - but I was absolutely hitched! My favorite episode is "In Excelsis Deo" - as Richard Schiff gave an outstanding performance. This was the first eppie that made me cry. I cry everytime I watch it. I also cried during "Two Cathedrals". I got Season 3 the day it was released in at Sams Club.
My hubby is a seasonal construction worker and just got laid off for the winter. He started watching season 1 a couple weeks ago right after I purchased Season 3. He stated to me that he was glad I didn't get him watching this summer otherwise he'd never have gone to work or he would have never slept! I waited - okay mostly waited - until my hubby caught up to me and we finished watching the last disc of Season 3 together. He watched "In Excelsis Deo" without me and I wish I would have been there as I wonder if he was as emotional as me. He was blown away at "Two Cathedrals" when Mrs. L passed away. I at least got to watch that on with him. It is really a great bonding experience for us.
I also picked up off of ebay - a set "For your consideration in all categories" - which has the first eppies of Season 4 and select other eppies from Season 4. In small print it states that those DVD's are not to be sold or given to anyone other than the recepient so I hope I am safe from the copyrite police! It was worth the purchase though!
We don't have cable or Satillite - so we watch it on network TV. I would love to watch the reruns cable. We may break down and get satillite this winter. Maybe?
I look forward to sharing our support of TWW with you all soon.
Peace! Lia

Hi there, my name's Dan and I've been into the West Wing since it first hit our TV screens in the UK. I spend time watching the show when I should be writing essays as I'm currently studying for a history degree and when I'm not doing that, I work for the Labour Party. Hope to really enjoy this forum - see you guys around I guess.

I wouldn't call myself a 'real political mind,' but I'm sure I'll enjoy myself around here because it looks like my kind of place.

caro32 - December 29, 2004 01:22 PM (GMT)
Thanks for a great site! I've been a WW fan since it first hit our screens in the UK. I recently went on a cruise around the carribean which had many american citizens.

When i was asked who was my favourite american president I had to reply Josiah Barlett - fortunatly the dinner guests were democrats and knew who I was refereing to!

xShockwavex - December 30, 2004 12:48 PM (GMT)
Lol, a funny story lol... hope you enjoyed your trip and hope you enjoy your stay here with us as well. - Democrats or republicans, Labour or Conservative etc. lmao

Hi all,
I'm Jim from the UK and both my wife and I are massive WW fans.

We finished Season 4 on DVD within a week of getting it from Amazon and have been frantically trying to get any news on when Season 5 will be released.

Never mind other sites with episode guides, SPOILER WARNING (I read in this forum that CJ is C.O.S!!!...is this true?....what happened to Leo?) END SPOILER

Please feed me any Season 5 & 6 highlights until I can get them on DVD...looks like it will be a long wait.

Thanks for a great way to discuss the best TV show in years (or is that ever!)

xShockwavex - January 3, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
welcome to the forums m8... thanks for the compliments regarding the site.... (all of you) glad its suitable for you all.... -- working on an improved spoiler defense method as well ok... :D ;)

Hi - I'm Helen and a WW fan of course. I'm desperate for series V to be released on dvd. I live on the French/Swiss border so can't get it on TV here. I am English and knew nothing about \american politics before getting into TWW. Now I'm intrigued and almost conversant with my many American colleagues. Good luck with the site.

Skywise - January 20, 2005 04:43 PM (GMT)
Hi guys

I'm Skywise from Wales and I've been into WW since Ep1 S1 hit the TV in the UK. I've just finished watching S5 on E4 and am desparately trying not to read any of the spoilers for series 6. I just have to ask though - its not true that Josh & Donna leave is it? If it is true then my life is not worth living :P

As for me - I'm a solicitor (otherwise known as a blood sucking leech) and I work in Wild West Wales.

Hey Gazza - whereabouts are you?

See ya

Sky

PS: How come this board is full of Brits? LOL

bookbag - January 20, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)

Skywise - January 20, 2005 04:59 PM (GMT)
Hi bookbag

I'm not 100% sure that that the gorgeous Josh does leave but I've heard rumours.. Maybe if we all think happy thoughts hard enough we can *make* it not be true.

*sits down in lotus position "ommming" loudly and thinking sunny thoughts*

SPOILER
i dont think josh does leave... if im right he goes to join the new presidential candidates team.... so maybe he might come back ;)

bookbag - January 20, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
you realise that putting spoiler before it doesnt make it invisible to those who dont want to see it right?

maybe you could put it in the smallest font next time? only a suggestion... sorry if i'm being a whinge B)

xShockwavex - January 20, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
i realised that im working on some new coding for the site for spoilers thought i might chance it however still unlucky so i had to change it to a red warning like before.
