Title: Will It Continue? SPOILER
Description: New President
Locutus - January 14, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
Do you think that the show will continue with a new president? Would you all support this show with a new president? How about a republican this time!? ;)
Most shows crap out around the 9th season but I am hoping that this one continues with a new president into more seasons... This would mean a total revamping of the show though. A WHOLE new cast and direction. There would have to be a smooth transition between not only administrations but also the new cast. This could be done by following the new cast through the election process. This has been done successfully with ER. I like the way they did that show and think that this could be done here. ER manages to go above and beyond reality in many ways without having it gain the feel of a soap opera too bad. (Although it does have that feel if you watch it trough a couple f seasons, but this shouldn't be a problem with The West Wing.) They do this by, very realistically, introducing and following new med students that inevitably become the new cast. This same thing process could be done here. I simply don't want this show to end. They, in ways, seems to be gearing up for this, but I really don't see it happening... It could though.
Maybe you all heard something about this I missed.

not sure about a republican president lol, no offense but it would be like a total policy revrse kinda thing plus i dont see it happening. however *SPOILER* josh has gone to help the new candidate in later series' so i think they will attempt to keep some of the older cast members on as they introduce the ne president - sorta to bridge the gap.

Cool I can't wait... But I still would like to see a republican! :P
EDIT: This was my 50th post!!!

:Spoiler Warning:
I just found out that the republican isn't gonna win the election... the DEMO is... grr... Josh will return. We will see Rob Lowe again (not for a while though and then not for long). Donna will not be returning from what I hear. Charlie is leaving as well as CJ... And, of course Bartlet... only 8 years :( But I'm sure sure they'll play him in a little.
This may take place over a couple of seasons and none of this is written in stone... It gets changed even right up while shooting.
I'll be editing the first post and title to include a spoiler warning.
EDITED: cause I can't spell!

I would hate to see this series end.
There is so much trash on British Television that I don't watch any UK series anymore.
Thank God for the PC and the wonderful world of Torrents.
I think we might be on season 4 over here next, wheras I am right up to date with the US.
Thoughts of 'The West Wing' ending don't enter my head. There is enough depression around the UK without me adding to my own.

There gonna let a Democrat win so they can keep most of the same cast, but with different positions. Bartlet and Leo will leave i expect. Josh will probably be Cheif of Staff (Watch season 6 he runs Matt Santos Campaign so if Santos wins Josh will be COS just like with Leo and Bartlet).
I dont no what they will do with CJ, whatever they do make sure she stays. She is the best character

Actually I'd rather see a prequel of the first season, meaning the campaign trail until the first year in the office. From the flashbacks in the 2nd and 3rd season episodes it seems that this story has a lot of potential. What happened to the basketball CJ threw out of the window? How did Josh actually feel jumping the ship from Hoynes (with cozy chairs and offices) to Bartlet (with make-do offices and not sure about being able the voluntary assistants like Donna)? How did they get Toby in the first place?
The downside of this is, we're not gonna see Charlie. And also, since Moira Kelly won't be returning, there's the glaring absence of Mandy. The upside is, we're gonna see Sam again.
