Description: The Shortlist

The whole episode cannot be talked about without answering this vitally important question:

QUOTE

JOSH Well, that depends on your answer to this question, Mrs. Landingham: Who da man?

MRS. LANDINGHAM Excuse me, Josh?

JOSH Hmmm... Who da man?

MRS. LANDINGHAM You da man.

Main stories of the episode

The President tries to nominate a Supreme Court judge. In typical TV style it doesn’t go as planned, instead of the anticipated Harrison, [he is discredited after discovering he wrote a position paper concerning privacy and the first amendment] instead they decide to nominate Mendoza

A Senator [or Congressman?] goes on the record and tells people that one in three White House Staffers use drugs [cue Leo’s addiction to alcohol and painkillers to come out!]

QUOTE

JOSH:Five White House staffers in the room. I would like to say to the 1.6 of you who are stoned right now, that it’s time to share.

We meet Gail for the first time – Gail the Goldfish rules!

Spot the mistakes……

CJ refers to reporter Katie Witt (Kris Murphy) as Kris which is her real name

Crouch says he wanted to retire 5 years ago, but waited until there was a Democrat in the White House, why then was Leo a Secretary of Labour?

There are over 3000 people working in the White House, CJ claims there are 1,300

Toby notes that Harrison is 55 but wants to know any dates Harrison had in 1953……… Harrison would have been 8!

Not the best episode of the season, but you gotta feel sorry for Leo when he finds out Lillienfield’s has his records from Sierra-Tucson, well written, well acted.

Thought for the episode:

It’s about the next 20 years. Twenties and thirties, it was the role of government. Fifties and sixties, it was civil rights. The next two decades, it’s gonna be privacy. I’m talking about the Internet. I’m talking about cellphones. I’m talking about health records, and who’s gay and who’s not. And moreover, in a country born on a will to be free, what could be more fundamental than this?
