Title: So many Star Wars Polls! (Ep. 3 Spoilers)
Description: Death Star!

Oh how many polls are made out of me and Lani disagreeing. Well here's the deal with this one. You know how at the end it had the half made Death Star that made you yell. "OOOOO DEATH STAR!" But in Episode 4 the thing isn't finished, which would mean they were working on it for like 18 years(or however old Luke is). Hell, if you think about it that would explain why Darth Vader was so ticked it wasn't finished, he'd been waiting almost 2 decades, I'd strangle em too! :P Though Lani's theory is that there were two Death Stars at the same time. The one Luke destroyed in Episode 4 was actually the second one and the one that was completely finished in Return of the Jedi was the one that was halfway done at the end of Episode 3. So chooose! Chooooooooooooooooooooooooooose!

Ok all I know is that just sounded retarded. Technically we dont know how long after the end of the movie that shot took place. But even if it was right at the end with the deathstar partway done... that does kinda make sense. It's the size of a small planet or large moon. And it was pretty much complete in 'A New Hope'. I dunno... whatever. My problem still lies with the sonofabitch who decided it was a good idea to have a laundry shoot going from the outside to the things core just so the rebels could blow it up.

It's because unless their swinging a lightsaber, just about everyone's aim sucks in Star Wars, they never thought anyone would actually hit it. :P

No,there was 1 death star completed and the other was still in the works. In Return of the Jedi, the Death Star was still in contruction.

But the point is that there were two Deathstars.
At the end of 'Sith' i think that is the star they use in 'Jedi' because its basically done, the one in 'Hope' is a different one because its not completed, either which way there would have had to have been two stars at one point for their completion to have been so close together.

No, the one in Hope is the one from the end of Sith. Because Death Star's haul was completed and the systems were all set and ready to go. The one in Jedi was still missing about a third of the haul and they mentioned that it ws barely operational at one point.
What was obviously done was that when they were halfway done with the Death Star they showed in new Hope, they stared on the Death Star in Return of hte Jedi.

I don't the reason you're actually debating this, but I have to point out the Death Star in Star Wars could have taken 18 years to build, considering the fact of its size, and its power. Also, is it really so hard to believe that the Death Star II could be constructed simultaneously, and not be completed until 4 years later. After all, it is larger and more powerful.
However, my thought is this. The First Death Star, Tarkin's DS, took 18 years to construct because the Imperial Government had to conceal its construction from the Senate, thus they couldn't have several million tons of metal just disappear for no reason. The later Death Star, Jerjerrod's DSII, took less time because by then the Senate had been disbanded, therefore no more bureaucracy, and no need to be clandesdine. So it only took four years. That's how I think it happened.

The second deathstar is fully armed and operational, its just a trick to make it look harmless. *watching Jedi*
And i agree Stepi

The 'Jedi' deathstar could shoot but it wasnt completed. thats why they needed the shield from endor. aside from the laundry shoot what wasn't operational about the 'new hope' deathstar?
