(Yes, I already applied.)

Moral Compass: Good
Motivation: Responsibility of Power

Real Name: Kara Zor-El (Kent)
Alter Ego/Code Name: Supergirl
Age: 17
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 120 lbs
Body type: Athletic
Base of Operations: Metropolis

Occupation: Adventurer/Student

Team Affilation: None.
Known Relatives: Ma and Pa Kent (adoptive Aunt and Uncle), Superman (Clark ‘Kal-el’ Kent, Cousin), Superboy (Conner ‘Kon-el’ Kent, Genetic Half Cousin), Lois Lane (Cousin-in-law)

Powers: Kara's body stores and processes solar energy at a rapid pace, for a multitude of effects, which are explained in full under each power heading. Her storage capacity is sufficient enough to let her function at full capacity for up to 3 days, depending on physical condition and how well rested she is. While under stars of the right class (G-type dwarfs in the blue-white to yellow spectrum are best) and within a planetary atmosphere, she stores and processes energy at a constant rate.

If forced to use up copious amounts of energy over a short period of time, or to maintain constant exertion over longer periods of time, she gets tired and her powers become depleted. Powers recover at the rate of normal rest, and will become fully recharged with only three days of normal-level exertion. The process of 'Solar Recharging' can also be used, but requires large amounts of fusion energy from solar/light-based superpowers.

With mild concentration, Kara can unleash her stored solar energy through her eyes in varying blasts - Heat Vision. She can control the width and intensity of the beams from a fine, pencil-thick beam to a broad 90 degree blast. Since the direction of the beam is controlled by her eyes, even with the limited experience Kara has in using them she is still incredibly accurate. At the lowest modulation of the beams, she can warm a gun in someone's hand, and at the highest can burn through several inches of steel effortlessly. With experience, she'll gain more control and learn more finesse, but for now her uses of heat-vision are fairly straightforward. As these blasts feed directly on her solar reserves, they're a great deal more taxing on them than her other powers, and are used sparingly because of that.

The lung capacity of the young Kryptonian is immense, as well as strengthened by her power under Earth's yellow sun. Compressing the air as it is inhaled, Kara can hold her breath for several hours - and because of the density of her molecular structure and general strength of her lungs, she can even inhale large volumes of poison gas, heated plasma, dangerous liquids or even the heated air from explosions in order to expel them safely somewhere else. Also, when exhaling, she can expel the gusts of air with hurricane force - enough to knock over enemies, unbalance aircrafts, or knock down buildings. Further, by narrowly pursing her lips and focusing, she can cause the expelled air to become so cold that it covers her target in frost and condensation icicles and after a few seconds completely encase it in ice.

Like all Kryptonians, Kara’s body is surrounded by an Aura making her invulnerable. Her aura doesn't extend to anything she might be holding or carrying, or even her cape. Powered up, Kara can take gunshots and laser-blasts without flinching, get slammed through a mountain, or shot with explosive incendiary weaponry - and still come out of it all unscathed! There are limits, however - even she, at this point in her life, could not survive at ground-zero during a nuclear blast. She could fly within a few hundred miles of the sun - but she couldn't -bathe- in it like her cousin. Likewise, brawling with super-beings at or above her range of strength can also injure her - gradually knocking her down and inflicting damage, or with sufficient repeated force even kill her.

Certainly one of the hardest powers to get used to, Kara's hearing is greatly enhanced - able to hear the lowest depth of the sub-sonic to the highest in the ultrasonic, and all of the frequencies in-between. From just inside the Earth's orbit, she could stay there and quietly listen to every sound on Earth as a symphony of a Living Planet. She can hear specific sounds at great distances several cities away. With training, she'll be able to track accurately by sound for miles, but for now she's pretty much just 'overhearing' things. Thanks to her enhanced brain, she's not physically overwhelmed by the omnipresent sound.

While again, not one of her flashier sets of abilities, Kara's Kryptonian body is a great deal more advanced than that of the common earthling - even de-powered. Generally coming into play when in such a de-powered state, her natural abilities are no minor feats.

Her molecular structure is a great deal denser, and because of this she's a great deal more resistant to damage than a human being - able to be battered around by normal punches or knocked into walls with little effect. She's also capable of minor feats of strength, able to lift up to 600 pounds of weight while completely drained.

Because of the super-charged nature of her immune system, she's immune to virtually all viruses and diseases native to Earth - though still prone to those tailored for her Kryptonian body or extremely exotic/alien. She also heals at double the normal rate of humans - nothing 'super', but faster in comparison.
Also, her lifespan is extremely extended under the light of Earth's yellow sun. While she will continue to age until roughly her late 40's, she will almost always be young and healthy, easily capable of living for thousands of years -- unless of course something else should cut her life short.

Kara has a variety of super-powers focused through her eyes, all of which come in incredibly handy. They include:

Telescopic/Microscopic Vision: Kara can see events a hundred miles away with great clarity, and can even see events in other cities. She can see fine details on the moon from Earth and vice-versa. She can also clearly perceive the atomic scale.

X-Ray Vision: By concentrating, Kara can see through objects. She can also combine X-Ray vision with Telescopic vision, though only for a little while. She cannot see through lead or other super-dense materials. A good rule of thumb - if it can protect her from Kryptonite, she can't see through it with X-Ray vision.
Both of Kara's super-visions require concentration to use; she requires practice and training to get desirable results.

Because of the extremely active nature of her mind, Kara gets so many stimuli that her own 5 senses seem greatly enhanced. Having already covered sight and sound, she can also smell, touch, and taste with much greater clarity than a human being. Able to detect the smallest of imperfections in a smooth surface, taste all 11 of the herbs and spices in KFC (even if she can't identify them, she knows there's 11), and smell each distinct ingredient in perfume - again, being able to discern differences even without knowing specifically what they are. Though they often take a back seat to her far more flashy and impressive powers, they can occasionally prove just as important.

Kara is, like Superman, capable of self-propelled flight. By merely willing herself into the air, she can fly at tremendous speeds and with great agility. She can hover in place, or fly at just above the speed of sound, able to fly from Smallville, Kansas to Metropolis, Delaware in a few short moments. Easily able to break the sound barrier, though just learning of the dangers of sonic booms, Kara's usual cruising speed when travelling is just beneath it, more out of sheer comfort than necessity. She can also fly in space, and could easily make it to the moon in less than 15 minutes while holding her breath. Because of the nature of space and the laws of physics that apply there, under constant acceleration she could push her own speed to beyond light-speed but such travel is incredibly draining on her solar reserves and extremely dangerous.

This ability is fuelled by her solar absorption power, and is usually the next to go after her super-visions when her energy stores run low. It is also usually the last to return to full strength.

Weakness: As a Kryptonian, Kara is of course affected by the glowing green chunks of rock. Exposure to Green Kryptonite instantly expels all of the stored solar energy from her body's reserves, rendering her powerless in a matter of seconds and more often than not crumpling her to the ground in pain and making her extremely ill. While Kara has only been exposed to Kryptonite once, it's conjectured that if left in the ore's naked presence for longer than a few minutes she would more than likely die. However, due to the differences in genetics between her and Superman (caused by his own Birthing Matrix), Kara recovers from Kryptonite poisoning a little quicker than her older cousin, returning to full health and normal power-levels (if outside) in less than a minute after the kryptonite is removed and/or shielded.

Weapons, Gadgets, Miscellany: None.

History:
Kara-Zor-el’s father Zor-el was not a member of the Scientific Council like his Brother Jor-el (Superman’s father) but he was one of the only people who believe him when he warned of the Planet Krypton exploding. He built a large ship than the one that Jor-el was going to use to send Kal-el off of Krypton, built a Navigation system which would follow Kal-el’s ship.

Kara’s parents placed her in the ship, promising that they would follow in a separate ship, a lie to get her to go into the ship, as there were no other ships besides hers and Kal’s. Kara’s ship however never got a chance to be sent off of Krypton as it was buried within a chunk of rock, which was propelled across the Galaxy when Krypton exploded, keeping her in suspended animation.

The Ship entered Earth’s Atmosphere as an Asteroid which threatened to destroy the world once it hit, and it would’ve if it wasn’t for Captain Atom and a Composite Superman/Batman Rocket ship destroying it though killing Captain Atom in the process. The part of the Asteroid plummeted to Earth landing in Gotham Harbour.

A week or so later whilst Batman was searching for pieces of Kryptonite in the Harbour he discovered Kara’s ship and began inspecting it until Kara broke into the Batboat and drove it to land where it exploded. Kara stumbles around the city her powers causing all kinds of Havoc until Batman finds her and knocks her out with a piece of Kryptonite that he found on her ship. Batman and Superman examine her in the Batcave until she tries to fly off again, Superman catches her and they briefly speak in Kryptonian and she informs him that she is Kryptonian and is his Cousin.

The Next day Superman and Batman further Investigate Kara’s ship and discover that it had a Solar Lamp which explained how her powers manifested so fast. Batman continued to interrogate Kara, paranoid that this may be one big deception.

Kara is taught about Earth by her Cousin, Superman, who takes time to bond with her and to learn more about herself and Krypton, all the while Batman is keeping an eye on them both. Whilst they’re attacked by Amazons who are there to take Kara to Themyscira for Warrior training, something set up by Batman to see how Kara would react during an attack.

Though Superman believes that she doesn’t need Warrior training, Kara begins to train and becomes friends with an Amazonian girl called Lyla, who can see her own death in the future.

Themyscira is attacked by a Horde of Fake Doomsdays who arrive through an Boomtube, whilst Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and other Amazons are fending of the attack another Boomtube opens were Kara and Lyla are and Darkseid walks out, killing Lyla and kidnapping Kara.

On Apokolips Darkseid placed a mind spell on Kara, transforming her into one of his Female furies. Meanwhile, on Earth Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Big Barda prepare to invade Apokolips to retrieve her.

Superman makes his way to Darkseid’s Citadel where he is met with the now transformed Kara who attacks him knocking him through the citadel. Meanwhile, in Darkseid’s throne room, Batman threats to destroy Apokolips with Hellspores, convincing Darkseid to let Kara go and the heroes return to Earth with Kara, where Superman christens her as the New Supergirl.

Later, Darkseid would return and tries to kill Superman with a Blast of his Omega Beams, but Kara dives into the path of the blasts and is killed.

This was yet another ruse however, as just before the Omega beams hit Kara she was teleported back to Themyscira, essentially faking her own death, so no-one from Apokolips would ever be after her again.

A Few Weeks Later Kara is introduced to the gathered JSA, JLA, Outsiders and Teen Titans and introduces herself as the one and only Supergirl.
