Once again I have very brief knowledge of both of these guys, one from brief descriptions and the other from the cartoon. So I'll wait a bit to vote but I have a slight idea I know who I'm going to vote for so go ahead and do your voting duty!

I voted for Paralax on this one. He had all the powers of the Green Lantern Central Power Battery, destroyed the entire timestream (and almost remade it in his own image), totally dominated Extant/Monarch, clocked Superman and even managed to cause some semi-serious setbacks for the Time Trapper.

Pheonix (dark or otherwise) is impressive, but not THAT impressive.

Parallax is a rookie and in the end of a copy of Phoenix. Its obvious who I voted for, uh?

Phoenix is far superior to Parallax is so many different ways.

For starters lets begin with the host. Jean Grey, argueable the most powerful PSI Omega Level mutant in the universe. Her natural mutant powers borderline on god-like with or with out the Phoenix Force to begin with.

When Cyclops and Apocolypse had been merged into one being, Jean had been able to use her telepathy to locate Apocolypse' essense and telekinetically rip it from her ex-husband with little effort.

She can control the very molecules of the world without a problem. She can read minds across the galaxy store other people's entire minds inside her skull.

Now add to all that cosmic powers.

The entire universe fears the Phoenix. Since the destruction of Galaxtus, the Phoenix Force is the most dangerous creature in the galaxy. It is not driven by anger, revenge or pain. Its driven by passion. By the idea of life itself. It destroyed an entire galaxy simply because it was hungry.

The Phoenix was able to manipulate the time stream from 150 years in the future, without any effort at all. It can't die. Everytime you kill the host, the Phoenix brings it back. The creature itself can't be killed because as long as there is life the Phoenix lives.

Where Parallax gets it power from fear, the Phoenix gets it power from everything. Plant, star, earth, man, animal, rock, cookies. It was created of the universe.

The Green Lantern Power is laughable for the Phoenix. It could extinguish the flame with but a thought. It can tear the power right from Parallax with a small tug of its telekinesis.

Phoenix could easily cut off Parallax's 'food source' by telepathically erasing all fear from the sentient beings of the universe. She could use her powers to simply rip the Parallax out of its host body and send it to the end of time where it can do no harm.

And any chance of using Jean's humanity against her is very low since she's recently cut all ties with her life with the X-Men. Cyclops and her are over since he left her for Emma. She now exists on a higher plane of existence. She is completely and totally one with the Phoenix Force. They are completely connected. Jean is Phoenix and Phoenix is Jean.

So thus... Phoenix has my vote.

The Pheonix sucks

Robin - June 28, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
I could ask why you said that, but its pretty obvious. ;)

NutiketAiel - June 29, 2005 12:53 PM (GMT)
I agree with Lani's rational and well thought out arguement for Paralax and critique of Dark Pheonix.

Well done, Lani. :D2

And Parrallax mocked Dark Pheonix "I'm mooooore popular! Nah! Nah! Nah-Nah! Naaaaaaaaaaah!" And not being able to take the shame, Dark Pheonix said "Well fine! Be that way! Look for death in 5 years!...or whenever we're forced to fight again..."
