Title: New Young Justice Leader
Description: The mantle must be passed

Robin - July 2, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
With our Founder Falcon, now gone, her character Rachael Simmions AKA Falcon has put in for early retirement. Most likely we shall explain the character's departure with Falcon returning home to the dimension from which she came from.

But with Falcon leaving, that means a new leader for Young Justice must be elected.

Now I'm not certain with what the situations are with Shinobi and Quarcen who play Shinobi and Ray. So I'm leaving them on the ballot sheet for the time being.

And remember, vote for the character AND player. We want someone who is a good player and will know how to play a leader properly.

And the canidates are...

user posted image SUPERSONIC - Marx Coolor [OC]
A shape-shifting speedster from an alternate dimension, Marx Cooler was a temporary member of the Teen Titans, until the Bedlam Conflict, in which he the opted to switch over to the new Young Justice. Despite his habit of committing pranks (that often come back to bite him in the ass), Supersonic has proven himself a hero time and again.

user posted image SECRET - Greta Hayes
A member of the Original Young Justice, Greta Hayes is a girl of hats. Once killed by her brother Harm, Greta was transformed by the Powers that Be into a Warder spirit whose duty was to help the dead pass over. But after falling in with Darkseid and failing him, Greta was given a second chance at life by the villain as 'punishment'. But a year after Young Justice disbanded, Greta was once again taken by the Dark Lord of Apokolips and given back her Warder Powers by an alternate version of Harm. She then joined with the new Young Justice, and despite a very very impressive dark side, she proved a strong member of the team.

user posted image CAPTAIN MARVEL JUNIOR - Fred Freeman
The Youngest and most reckless member of the Marvel Family, Freddy Freeman was boy who gained his powers through unlucky chance. After getting crippled by Captain Nazi, Fred was given a small portion of Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel's power. He has been a member of the Teen Titans and a back up on Young Justice, until recently showing up to joing the new Young Justice.

user posted image THE RAY (II) - Raymond C. Terrill
A former member of the JLA, Ray Terrill was blessed with the ability to control light. He joined with that original YJ, shortly before it disbanded and recently joined the newest incanation. He is the second oldest member of the team, though he has less experience than some of the others relatively speaking.

user posted image INVISIBLE KID (I) - Lyle Norg
Hailing from the distant future, Lyle Norg once served as a member of the intergalaxtic Legion of Super-Heroes before getting forced backwards in time to the present. Although considered confrontational and a bit aloof, Lyle is an intellectual giant and has more than once step up to the job of leader back in the 31st century.

user posted image SHINOBI - Adam Honshi [OC]
A ninja from New York, Adam Honshi joined the Teen Titans and served as member for several months before joining the new Young Justice. Although an inexperienced rookie, Adam has proven to be a powerful ally.

*Ahem*...Greta is not "a girl hats" nor did Darksied give her powers back to her. It was the WWOYJ version of Secret/Harm.

I voted Lyle because He is intelligent and a natural leader, on the flip side he is also a good solid poster with good ideas. Supersonic would be my second choice but like Slo-Bo i'm sure he'd rather be the bastich ignorin' the orders than giving them...

Robin - July 2, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
Oh get over it. :thatguy: I mis-wrote.

atlantis - July 2, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
lol, when has she ever worn hats?? :lol:2

Robin - July 2, 2005 06:36 PM (GMT)
Many hats. As in someone who has many traits. Friend, sister, daughter, psycho, hero, death, etc... Don't take things so litteral. :)

atlantis - July 2, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
Thats some American thing isn't it...It makes no sense to me.
I mean, I get it but still...

Robin - July 2, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
Actually its a universal expression, (they use it in Spain i know) but... Well you must live a sheltered life. :D

Marx - July 2, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
I voted Supersonic...yeah I'm biased and I'll admit it lol besides I doubt he'll win so you can call it a pity vote. :P I get the feeling that Invisible Kid's going to win though if he does, we'd need a back-up leader since he is supposedly only in this time until he can get home. Then again something similar could be said about Super, ah so confusing lol. And I can tell you that chances are Quarcen isn't going to be on the site anymore so Ray wouldn't be an option.

Robin - July 2, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
I have yet to vote myself, since I can't really decide. I'm stuck between Invisible Kid and Supersonic. Yes, I said Supersonic.

I know that he's an hyper-active prankster, but we've seen in previous stories that he does have leadership capability. He's much like Beast Boy in that matter. He could be a great leader if he only stopped trying to make everyone laugh all the time.

But then there is Invisible Kid. He's got the tactical mind and he has the previous experience, although he is often lacking in people skills. The thing that makes me unsure about voting for him is his stability. I mean, honestly I'm suprised he's been able to stay in the 21st Century as long as he has since the Legion probably should have come for him by now. lol.

Hm... This will take some further thought...

I also considered Secret, but as much as I like her, I don't think she has the mental stability for leadership stress.

atlantis - July 2, 2005 11:07 PM (GMT)
*Greta shows up*
"The mental stability...?"
*Looks confused for a second*
"First its hats...then my mental state?!! THATS IT!! BACK IN THE CAGE!!"

[Insane madness mode engaged.]

Robin - July 2, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
I rest my case. (Picks up tin cup and starts rolling it against the bars of the cage)

Jakazul - July 3, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
...That aside...
Lyle all the way.

Robin - July 3, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
So... Rachael has come back to the site, so... what happens with the leadership thing now?

Marx - July 3, 2005 03:14 AM (GMT)
Um....second in command?

Robin - July 3, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
Okay. But is Rachael still going to play Falcon?

Marx - July 3, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
Now that only one person can answer...

Flamebird - July 3, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
who--oh yeah*smacks self on forehead* Yup, still going to be playing falcon, but that doesn't necessarily mean she has to be leader again. We could give someone else a shot for a while and could explain that while she left, someone else took over (Though now that I think about it, that sounds FAR to much like Robin in his yj days) or we can do the second in command thing. Either way.

Jakazul - July 3, 2005 05:50 AM (GMT)
Or we could get her shot in the stomach and become paralyzed and she could give them advice from her hideaway... something that hasn't been done... like... a tower! Yeah. She could LIVE in a tower and give them advice while someone else leads them.
Wait... That's been done...
...Lyle Norg all the way.
Falcon's definitely a great leader, but we've already made the poll and everything. lol

Flamebird - July 3, 2005 06:38 AM (GMT)
lol

NutiketAiel - July 3, 2005 01:03 PM (GMT)
In answer to everyone's questions about Lyle's stability, there is a reason that the 31st century Legion hasn't come back to pick him up yet. At first, they were being prevented from doing so. Then, they ceased to exist, replaced by the current incarnation of the Legion. I was planning to reveal this over a series of side stories, but basically, I'm accepting everything that happened in the Titans/Legion Crossover. Lyle doesn't know it yet, but his Legion is gone, and he's trapped in the 21st century for good. He'll find this out later, of course, in addition to finding out why he managed to survive the changes in the timeline.

Everyone, seriously, thanks for all the votes. It warms my heart that you all felt I was a good enough RPer to pull off the leadership job.

Of course, I don't know what to do now. While Lyle is capable of being a leader, he has never been comfortable in that role- when he was Legion Leader, it was because there was no one else and he felt obligated. He's fine with leading sub-teams (the Legion Espionage Squad or various Legion Away Teams) or leading in an emergency (like if the leaders of Young Justice and the Teen Titans, and the deputy leader of the Teen Titans, all got turned into children by a gooey monster), but he doesn't LIKE to lead. And, he knows that he can be sarcastic and abrasive, though in the Legion this was never too much of a problem since he was always less sarcastic and abrasive than Brainiac 5, Gates, Umbra, Leviathan, Kid Quantum I and Cosmic Boy when he was in one of his moods. :-)

If Falcon did leave Young Justice for a period, Lyle would take over if he felt he had to, but the only way he would keep the position once she returned would be if she flat out refused to take it back. And, even then, he would immediately appoint a deputy leader (probably Secret, but maybe Supersonic) and start grooming him/her to be his replacement.

Anyway, make of that what you will. I have no idea what way we want to go with this, whether Lyle takes over or becomes second-in-command (which he has kind of been acting like anyway, even though it wasn't official).

Robin - July 3, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
How about this: We do a trinity force, similar to Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman or Robin, Superboy and Wonder Girl.

Almost everyone respects Falcon and see her as a peacemaker similar to Wonder Woman. She might work with Batman, but she's the least like him unlike Robin, Nightiwng, Batgirl Oracle and Huntress. She's got a bit more amazon thought to her mind than bat in some ways.

With Lyle, he's super-smart but a bit of a jerk such as Batman. People look to him for an answer to the question not asked.

Supersonic... Well he doesn't really fit those guys... he's more plastic man...

hmm... Give me a second to work this analogy a bit more...

Marx - July 4, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
lol Uuuum, think of him as...Superman with a big sense of humor...and a few mental issues due to prolonged torture. :D

kidflash3 - July 4, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
I voted CM3. I know it seems wierd, but it wouldn't be bad for a Marvel to lead a team.

Robin - July 4, 2005 04:35 AM (GMT)
Its not too weird since you play him kidflash3. lol

I don't think CM3 is ready. He's barely been on the team in comparisioin to the others, and you've been playing him a bit more rash. Jumping in first and asking questions later sort of deal.

NutiketAiel - July 4, 2005 12:41 PM (GMT)
Is Young Justice big enough for such a setup? I mean, half the team would be leader-esque characters.

Robin - July 4, 2005 06:00 PM (GMT)
Well, what I mean with the trinity is that the three of them have their own duty and in a way lead. Techinically one of them would be leader in the title sense. But any of them could start giving orders during a mission like what happens with the JLA.

NutiketAiel - July 7, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
So... what's the plan?

Marx - July 7, 2005 05:59 PM (GMT)
The trinity thing sounds good to me, but since it would mean that there would be a main leader would that be Falcon since Invisible Kid wouldn't want to be leader?

Flamebird - July 7, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
If we go with the Tampa idea, I don't think Falcon will be able to show up for a while as it is. (What sort of mother would let her daughter go off for an entire weekend without having a clue where she is?) So until she can find a way to get around that, she calls up Lyle and appoints him to take over awhile because she has some other problems she has to deal with. And once she finnaly finds a way to convinvce her mother that she has a weekend internship or something of the sort, she and Lyle can do the the trinity thing.

NutiketAiel - July 7, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
Works for me, except that trinities are three people. :-)

Flamebird - July 7, 2005 07:11 PM (GMT)
We'll find a randomn third person and force them into it, no worries.

kidflash3 - July 7, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
If I were to pick members for a YJ trilogy, I would pick: Secret, Invisible Kid, and Falcon.

Robin - July 7, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
The thing is Kidflash3, they wouldn't make a proper trinity. Secret and Falcon are both care-giver type characters. They fit the same spot.

They need one person who's brain. (i.e. Batman, Robin)

They need on person who's the soul. (i.e. Superman, Superboy)

They need one person who's the heart. (i.e. Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl)

Both Falcon and Secret fit into the heart category.
