Title: Be Civil Or Be Banned
Description: MUST READ

Listen everybody.
I know that things have been complicated lately and that a lot of us have strong feelings about things, but can we try to keep it to a low roar?
Debates, mixed opinions and even the occasional light argument or discussion are all well and good, but recently we seem to be getting a bit hot-headed.
In the SB poll we have had over a half dozen people get angry and threaten to leave, we have had people arguing and insulting each other and their beliefs and quite frankly I, as well as MANY others that have complained to me, are getting sick of it.
Now as I said, a discussion or debate from time to time is good. It keeps things interesting, keeps our brains working, keeps our opinions known, but when we start getting angry at each other things are being said (and done) that are simply not tollerable.
I realize that a lot of us have strong views and that's good, but let's try and express them without tearing each other's throats out.
Failure to do this will result in warnings or even temporary bannings.
If you don't like how someone is doing something, report it to me and I will talk to the admins and deal with it, but don't insult them or leave.
Also, I'd like to remind everyone that Admins and Mods aren't above the rules either.
We have powers for maintaining the board, not doing whatever we want. This goes out to EVERYONE whether an Admin or not.
The issue of Superboy's sexuality has been under great debate also. There are options, but until we can discuss them in a civil manner we can accomplish nothing.
This applies to EVERYTHING, not just the issue at hand.
To sum this up:
If you want to debate, debate, don't argue.
If you want to argue, be civil or be banned.
Bannings, just for the record, have ranged times, the normal length being one week. If you are banned and still cause problems this can result in month-long bannings, total bannings (meaning you can't even access the board) or membership deletion (meaning you will never be able to access the board.)
Please remember that we don't want to do any of this, but will do so if we deem it necessary.
We are trying to run a fair, civil internet community/RPG.

Also, as was pointed out to me by another member, I would like to mention that, despite the flaming, the poll did some good. It got 17 users on AT ONCE and got our minds all working.
This is a fair example of what I'm saying. Polls and debates are good... When we keep control of ourselves.
