Title: 3rd Character

Marx - August 2, 2005 07:43 PM (GMT)
Okay guys, thinking of picking up a third character, most likely for the Outsiders. I know it's actually my choice, just looking for input on which seems more like the best choice. If you've noticed the two characters I have are polar opposites more or less in personality and in a way powers which I'd want to stick with, which is why I'd want the third one to be a powerhouse of some sort but not with with so much backstory I probably couldn't use them correctly (i.e. Superman). I could of course have used Shift or Grace, but Shift's a morpher which I already got and I already have two female NPCs, one of which will become important later on. So here's the options I have so far, probably won't pick them up for a bit so there's no rush.

Doomsboy

Pros: Most likely option as I've already put the character in this reality and used him on YJUTT 1.0. He's a powerhouse but since not much is known about him he'll be easy to use and isn't invincible. Like Harm he has enough of a spark of goodness(he was originally a "hero" afterall) that it wouldn't be quite so hard to turn him.

Cons: He's been played as a villain and as a matter of fact for those who remember "Time Warp" is supposed to be a villain in the future. I have at least 2 stories I need to do with him as a villain before he can be turned, one of which would be a main and the other would be the reason behind him turning.

Black Zero

Pros: Could bring him in literally in the middle of the Outsiders story with the good old "random portal" thing and it'll make complete sense since he disappeared in Hypertime. Definitely fits the powerhouse requirement as well as the not being used as much one since he was only in a few issues of Superboy. Once more, he's not invincible, specially if you got the handy dandy green rock. Moreso than Doomsboy he has the capacity for being good, he's just misguided.

Cons: Could possibly be once Kryptonian too many if we get a Superman, but could possibly work since power levelwise it would be Superboy-Black Zero-Superman. As well as he might not be an exact clone like SB since I'm going on the assumption he really was cloned from Westfield and not Lex. There will eventually have to be a reason he turned good story but it wouldn't have to be immediate since no one knows where he went during the Hypertime storm.

Doomsday

Pros: Totally rocks and kicks uber bobba, considering he's my fave villain. He showed the capacity for being good in one of the Action Comics I read when he thought Gog killed Superman.

Cons: Might totally rock, and kick a little too much bobba. Might not be invincible but he's pretty darn close. Possibly too powerful to be on the Outsiders(he's stronger than Superman afterall). Plus I don't know the specifics of how he got intelligent or exactly how intelligent he is since I've only been able to find one of the Action Comics with non "Muh-truplsssssss" Doomsday in it(Though he did say Superman in The Doomsday Wars)

Other

Any guys I haven't mentioned that haven't been used that much. Sure it's a little bit of a cheap way of using a cannon as an original but it worked with Harm didn't it? :P

Yall so totally stole my line. (Just kidding.)

Robin - August 3, 2005 05:45 AM (GMT)
No we didn't. We're honoring you by by imitation. Plus we're too lazy to say anything else.

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 06:06 AM (GMT)
Ooooh. Honorific!

As your admin I hereby command everyone -regardless of their vote- to post the word "Doomsboy" or be banned on site on sight...
Okay, not really.
Do whatever you want, I'm lazy.

Marx - August 3, 2005 01:13 PM (GMT)
lol Seems like Doomsboy is the odds on favorite so far, but 2 people voted for BZ, come ooooon tell me who you were and why you voted. I'll give you cake, chocolate cake and it won't even explode after you finish eating it.

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
(He didn't say anything about poison.)
I liked Black Zero when he was melded with SB durring that big Etrigan thing a while back. Other than that I've never really taken much time to study up on him.
Doomsday rocks, but I think he'd make a crummy character to play.
Other is too expansive.
Therefore: DOOMSBOY.

Robin - August 3, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
I'm with Jake on this.

Doomsday is a super-villain. He'd be more interesting to keep him that way.
Black Zero was a cool storyline but he's just another Kryptonian which frankly isn't all the interesting wiht Superman, Superboy, Supergirl and Krypto. It's repativie power house.
Doomsboy would be fun because he'd be like the THING from the Fantastic Four. He looks like a monster, but maybe he's something else. Plus we have too many beautiful heroes. A few uglies make sure we're an equal oppertunity super-team.

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 07:06 PM (GMT)
I have a dream.
That one day all heroes, ugly or beautiful, will rise up...

Okay, that's bordering on being offensive so I won't continue. Seriously though I agree with the agreement of my original statement which was actually the third statement I've made.

kidflash3 - August 3, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
I was one person who voted for black Zero.

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
I wasn't. I voted for Doomsboy.

Marx - August 3, 2005 09:05 PM (GMT)
There's one! And I voted for...well...I actually didn't vote...if I did vote it'd kinda defeat the purpose of the poll wouldn't it?

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
...You should vote Marx.

Robin - August 3, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
but he he knows who to vote for, then why did he put up the poll in the first place?

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 09:54 PM (GMT)

Marx - August 3, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)

Jakazul - August 3, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
...Anyone remember who led the women's rights movement here?

...No. I think not.

Entropy Aegis - August 3, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Elizabeth Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.

Jakazul - August 4, 2005 03:28 AM (GMT)
...I hate you all. No, that's Lani's line.
Well still. I meant Americans, I didn't clarify. No Americans know our own history. It's part of our culture to disregard what made us who we are.

Marx - August 4, 2005 01:37 PM (GMT)
Here here!

Jakazul - August 4, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
Right! What he said.

NutiketAiel - August 5, 2005 03:53 AM (GMT)
I voted for other, mostly because I didn't like any of the characters and couldn't think of a better suggestion.

Also, isn't Black Zero dead or destroyed or something?

Jakazul - August 5, 2005 05:23 AM (GMT)
He got hit by a bolt of black energy and killed in Superboy #64, but that doesn't mean he can't come back! :P

But who cares? Everyone knows it's all about DOOMSBOY.

Marx - August 5, 2005 12:04 PM (GMT)
Aaaah but he wasn't killed. If the bolt killed him, all the versions of Superboy would have ceased to exist, so we can only assume that he was transported into another Hypertime Reality.
