Title: Awkward Feelings
Description: Another Harm solo, deal with it! :P
Marx - September 3, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
(Hm, I guess this happens after the current Teen Titans story.)
Will rolled his eyes as he looked flipped another page of one of his monthly comics. Meh, it was okay, it had a new artist which was okay he guessed, he'd seen way worst, but it was so bright, he felt like he was going to be blinded if he looked at it long enough without blinking. It had Hawk and Dove as guest stars, which he did know a bit about, after all when he was evil he did what he could to study heroes and villains alike, after all he needed to know his enemy, but he couldn't really bring himself to care too much about the comic, it just couldn't stand up to the one that it was cancelled for.
"Yo Will!" Will raised his eyebrow as he looked to find who called him though it was quite obvious. They were in Elias, and there were only two guys who tended to sneak their way into the dorms constantly...to their knowledge anyway. "Hey Marx." Supersonic looked excited as he looked next to Greta, who was beaming just as much. "And where are you two going?" "They're going to be doing a reshowing of Beauty and the Beast on the big screen, it'll be awesome! You wanna go?" Harm gave Super a blank look as he seemingly thought it over. Beauty and the Beast...that would just put him in all kinds of a good mood, wouldn't it? "...no."
"Awww Twinkie, watch it with us." "...No no. I'm good here with my comics, thank you. You two have fun." Will had noticed that since Tim had left on a mission, that Marx as well as the others had been doing all they could to keep her busy, he wasn't sure if it was working but it was worth a try. "Awwww. Okay, if you really don't want to go. But could you do me a favor? Cissie has another roll on Wendy the Werewolf Stalker, and she need's a 'ride' there. Marx was supposed to do it, but...Disneeeeeey." Will couldn't help but to laugh at his sister's priorities. "Pleeeeeeeeease?" "*sigh* Fine fine, I'll do it." Will said with a roll of his eyes as returned to the comic. "Is Duo coming?""You kidding? I said the words Disney and she took off. Don't think she wanted to sit through another movie with sappy songs." Will found himself laughing at the two of them as they left.
While he accepted the responsibility of taking Cissie clear across the country, there was one problem. The two of them really didn't like each other, well...I wouldn't say they didn't like each other, they just weren't really friends. Really though, he only tried to kill her, he's tried to kill all his other friends and they forgave him. '...I can't believe I just thought that....geeze I'm messed up.' Will thought as he put the comic down and called the shadows to him. When he appeared again he was in a targetting range where Cissie was practicing for the next Olympics. While he'd never admit it, Will did have a lot of respect for her. She was an Olympic champion, as well as a budding actor, all this busyness and being completely happy not being a superhero anymore. In a way, they were polar opposites in that extent. They'd both done things in their costumed identities that they regretted, but while Harm redoubled his efforts as a hero to make up for it, Cissie on the other hand just gave it up all together.
"Cissie?" Will called, but considering he hadn't been there a second ago that turned out to be not the best thing to do. While Cissie did her best not to react on it, she was still kind of scared of Harm, so popping up next to her when she had the bow pulled made her react on instinct. The arrow was shot directly at Harm, but even without being a demon it wasn't a big deal. It was funny considering that was exactly how the two met for the first time before. But this time he only caught the arrow he didn't throw it back. "Heh, still got it." Will gave Cissie an annoyed look as he saw her expression as if she was just waiting for him to return the arrow to her arm again. "Oh for the luva! Cissie if I were going to kill you don't you think I would have done it by now? Look, I'm here because Super's busy, and Greta asked me to give you a lift." Cissie was now giving Will a look that pretty much said, 'Oh no, you're not.' "You going to actually talk to me or just glare? Cuz I could try to find Robin for that kind of treatment." Cissie finally let out a sigh. "I'm sorry okay, but you just show up out of nowhere and expect me to going into the shadows with you?"
"Well, if you don't wanna go, I'll just go back and read my comics." "No! I-...fine. But if you do any funny stuff I'll-haunt you! Or make sure I'm reincarnated as a cat!" "....Just go in the darn shadow."
Marx - October 30, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
As the two of them appeared in Hollywood, Cissie gave a sigh of relief. "Well...thanks Will.." Will gave her a smirk as he looked back at the shadow. "No prob, just give me a call when you're fi-" "HEY! Cissie! It's been so long, how'd you get here so fast?" Will quickly let the shadows disperse as he looked at the guy who was talking to Cissie, he had short blonde hair and seemed pretty friendly. He then recognized him. "You're Joe Westin..." Will said, catching Cissie's attention as she gave him a 'You can leave now.' look. "That's right. And you would be...?" "My ride. Will, Joe Westin/ Jo Westin, Will."
"Pleased to meet you...a big fan." While Will's words were friendly, his tone of voice was kind of dark. And there was good reason, he sensed a demonic aura around him. Joe shook his hand and had a dark smile that let Will know that he could tell that Will wasn't human either. "Oh the contrary, the pleasure...is mine. This way, Cissie." Putting his arm around Cissie's shoulder, he led her away, though Will made sure he was still in eyesight. He'd gain nothing from attacking now, he'd just seem like he was a rabid fan or something, he needed to get Joe alone. "Well, since you're here and you've been so kind as to bring Cissie here why don't I give you a...quick tour of the place after Cissie's been situated?"
"Sounds good to me." Will could tell by the look on Cissie's face she reeeeally wanted him to go but was just too scared of him to say it, but he was doing this for her good anyway. The other crew members seemed pretty nice, Will was even able to get an autograph from Terri Jewel Jackson before he was finally able to be alone with Joe, specifically in his office. After a brief staredown, Joe was the first one to speak. "Nice contacts...Will." Will's eyes narrowed at Joe. "Nice aura." Joe let out a throaty laugh before looking at Will again. "Don't forget the fangs." Joe's eyes suddenly turned blood red and his fangs became much more obvious. "Ah...you're a vampire." It made a lot more sense now, a show where werewolves are the bad guys, thought up by a vampire.
Rolling his eyes, Will sat down. "That's me. And you...you're one of the 6. I was being sincere when I said the pleasure is mine." Will raised one of his eyebrows before speaking up. "One of the 6?" "As in...666?" Once more Will began to glare at Joe. "You do get why anyone who respects me because of my father is already on my bad list, comprende?"
Marx - November 3, 2005 09:54 PM (GMT)
"Completely understood. The 6's relationship the their father is legendary afterall." Will's eyes narrowed. It didn't seem like this guy would be a problem, the way he was looking at him, Will was half expecting Joe to ask him for an autograph. "I'm not like the others. I have no desire for my father's throne." Will was then caught offguard by Joe's respone, it was the look you give Mike Tyson when he talks. You want to laugh but you don't want him to beat the hell out of you for it. "Riiight. I'm sure you don't, Will."
Joe sounded so condescending that it annoyed Will to the point that he stood up and slammed his fists on the desk causing Joe to jump back slightly. Joe wasn't a fighter, that much was obvious, sure he probably could fight if needed but he wasn't a warrior, Will would probably have him for breakfast and he knew it. "Look! All I want to know is that Cissie won't be coming back to Elias with any less blood than she started out with." "Oh believe me, I wouldn't dream of-"
Suddenly the door swung open and a man with spikey brown hair and a nose ring came through. "Joe! Joe I smell a-...demon....here..." Harm's eyes went wide before he turned back to Joe. "A werewolf! You have a werewolf on the set as well?! What? You going to get a real ghost to be on next?" Joe couldn't help but to laugh at the confusion. "Jake Ketchum, I'd like to introduce you to Will. He's a friend of Cissie's." Jake cautiously put his hand out, showing that he was as warey with Will's prescence as Will was with his. "Funny, I always thought vampires and werewolves didn't get along." Will said sarcastically as he accepted Jake's hand. Despite being a werewolf, Will didn't sense any bad intentions from him either.
"Jake is our resident werewolf. Oddly enough he was hired after he helped us with a genuine werewolf attack. Normally you'd be completely right but Mr. Ketchum here is an exception which was why we made his character, to show that not all werewolves are bad." Will was beginning to relax as he saw that despite the weirdness, he didn't think Cisse was actually in any danger. "Well...okay. I guess you guys seem alright.." But then will noticed the dark smirk Joe was giving him. "What?" "I just got the mother of all ideas. I've been wanting to have a vampire on the show since it's second season, but no one ever seemed right to me...."
Will immediately backed up as he saw where Joe was going with this. "Oooooh no! Don't look at me like that. I don't even look like a vampire." There was a slight pause while Jake and Joe both looked at each other and then looked at Will. In years to come both men will agree that they don't think they'd ever laughed so hard in their lives.
Marx - November 8, 2005 08:25 PM (GMT)
Will let out an annoyed sigh that was barely heard over Jake and Joe. "Fine fine, I look like a flippin vampire. But either way I'm not interested, I already have a job." This was finally able to stop Joe from laughing. "Oh? And what job would this be?" If Will would have thought about it a little longer he would have realized how silly this sounded but eh well, live and learn. "I work at a music store." Both Joe and Jake traded confused glances but Jake was the one who spoke up. "Let me get this straight. Ya'd rather work at a music store than on a popular tv show?"
Will's eyes narrowed at the two of them. "That's right. At the store people treat me like I'm normal. Or as normal as a goth in a music store would be treated, it's normal enough. My other...life is far from that and the last thing I need to be associated with a vampire instead." "But you're one of the 6, why should that even matter?" Will's eyes seemed to glow red for a bit as he glared again. "It does." Seeing that this wasn't going to work, Joe decided to go from another angle. "Okay, okay. You don't have to be a regular character. Just a recurring one we use from time to time. It wouldn't really cut into your time, just 2 or 3 days every now and then. I'd be more than willing to compensate for your time."
"Oh yeah? Do tell." Will said his stern expression lightening to one of cockiness since he was sure he wouldn't be fazed. Joe then wrote something on a piece of paper and gave it to Will which caused his eyes to shoot open even though he tried to play it off. "You do realize you can't just buy me off?" Joe could tell that the little sum of money totally had the desired effect. "Not at all. All I'm trying to do is make the time you work with me totally worth it for your...talents." Will let out a loud sigh. With that much money he could easily get guitar he'd been wanting since he started working at the store, not to mention the presents he could afford to get Cassie, Greta and Duo. "...fine..." Joe became so excited that he momentarily let out his fangs. "Jake, would you mind getting Cissie?" This caught Will's attention. "Cissie? Why do we need to get Cissie?"
He found out the answer to the question when they got back. Needless to say, Cissie was quite surprised that not only was Will still there but he'd be working with her on the current episode she was filming that was immediately changed on the spot to include Will in. "You know, you never actually struck me as an actor-type, creepy boy." She mumbled under her teeth glaring a hole through Will. "Look, he was really insistent okay? He thought I'd be the best option to fit a vampire on the show." Cissie looked like she was about to argue the point but then seemingly accepted it. "Oh come on! I don't look that much like a vampire!" "You kidding? I see you and I totally think vampire. Welcome to the show, Will." Will turned around to see Terry Jewel Jackson, and tried not to seem too starstruck. Really, his girlfriend was Wonder Girl and he'd not only met but fought Batman, how weird would it be to get all googly eyed over a celebrity. "Honor to meet you."
"I see you've met Terry. Good, we'll begin filming in a few minutes, most of the scipt changes won't change you up too much. You'll be playing Luela's boyfriend and-" "Luela's what?!" Both Will and Cissie said in unison before giving each other nervous glances. Joe couldn't help but to smile at the almost immature reaction. "You do realize that this is just acting, right?" Will tried his best to regain his composure and ignore Terry's snickering in the background. "What about....brother and sister? We...I mean they could still be equally close as brother and sister. And it wouldn't seem repetive since Jake was Wendy's love interest." Joe seemed to think about it for awhile before replying. "Hm, you're right. You will be Luela's close brother, and she'll find out he's a vampire while having to deal with whether to tell Wendy or not, perfect!" Will and Cissie gave each other very relieved smiles as Joe and Terry continued to plan the episode.
Marx - December 6, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
"Luela? You okay?" "...Yeah, you know me. Takes more than bar fight to phase me. Three at least." "....cut." Will looked visibly annoyed, this was the fourth time that this particular scene had been stopped before they could finish it. "Okay, just tell me what we're doing wrong?" "We?" Will rolled his eyes. "Fine. What I'm doing wrong." "Don't be annoyed, it's not you it's just...you two seem really uncomfortable around each other, especially when you're close. We're trying to make it seem like Luela and Darian were close before she finds out he's a vampire. The way the scene's looking now, Luela's cautious of him to begin with."
Will and Cissie let out a long sigh before apologizing in unison. Immediately after this happened they both gave each other weird looks. "See you two definitely a chemistry about you, but I think you need a little time. How about we tape the scenes after Luela finds out he's a vampire and give you two some alone time and we'll meet back tomorrow." "...That sounds fair." "Yeah...I guess so." And the filming continued. Since Will and Cissie continued to be quite uncomfortable around each other these scenes came out perfectly. The only times they even had to reshoot were to get different angles. Of course it also helped that both of them were dreading the later "alone time".
"And that's a cut, people! Brilliant!" Both Will and Cissie let out weak smiles afterwards until Terry walked up to Will. "You were amazing out there! Joe told me that you had martial arts training so you'd be able to adapt but it was like you knew what I was going to do before I did it. Who taught you how to fight like that?" A genuine smirk appeared on Will's face. What can he say, the guy has an ego and Terry was helping to inflate it. "A...friend of my father's. He taught me to begin with, though I have a new trainer now. She's a bit...on the strict side though, you'd be amazed how heated some of our training sessions get. Plus I have friends I spar with every now and then. Keeps me on my toes." "Awesome! Think you can teach me some moves sometime?" Will's smirk only got wider. "Not a problem. Just pick the time."
Terry said her goodbyes and Cissie had and odd smirk on her face now. "...what?" "Iiiii'm teeelling Caaaaaasssiiiiiiiiiiiie!" Will's face immediately began to get a red overtone. "..Tell her what? I wasn't flirting...I was just being friendly..." "Suuuuure you were! Will and Terry sittin in a tree!" Will let out a growl which immediately shut Cissie up, but at the same time made him feel guilty. "For the luvva! I'm not going to hurt you! At the very least I'm so whipped by Cassie that I'd never hurt one of her friends and at the very most I'd have to deal with Duo if I crossed that line!" Cissie let out a sigh. "...I know...I know...but when I see you I see the person who totally outmaneuvered me, and...in the back of my mind...I think you still can..." "Oh there's no doubt about it, I'd wipe the floor with you." "If you tried, I'd take you with me." Cissie shot back with a glare. "Most likely, so what are you worried about?"
As the two of them talked they passed a bench and sat down. "Look, I know I don't think I ever did, but I'm sorry I tried to kill you." Cissie stared at Will and blinked a few times. "..Wow. There's an apology you don't hear every day." "Heh, speak for yourself." There was a slight pause before they both started to laugh a little. "You know, believe it or not I totally respect you." This caught Cissie's attention as she gave Will a confused expression. "You respect me? What for?" "Everyone has a darkness inside of them. Most of us keep it hidden with our morals or only give into it a little. But a few of us are forced to face it. You had to face your darkness and somehow found a way to be content with just leaving it. Getting out of the game all together so you wouldn't be tempted. I don't think I'd be able to do it. Wanna know a secret?" Cissie slowly nodded, Will could tell that she was slightly on edge again probably not so much because of him, but because of the subject.
"I hope you never realize how good of a thing it was that Superboy stopped that arrow." "Oh I realize it. I don't think I ever would have forgiven myself." "Possibly. Or you might have easily forgiven yourself. Or you might have found that you liked it. Cissie, one of the worst feelings in the world is when you kill someone, get away with it, and realize that you could care less that there's one less breathing person in the world. I don't know which one you would have been, but it's best not to find out." Will paused slightly as he looked at Cissie, she looked like she wanted to ask something but was afraid of the answer. But he knew what the question was. "I enjoyed it. I'm not proud of that, but I did. It felt like I was setting a wrong, right. Of course that was only with my first killings. It was like you, they'd pissed me off and I was getting revenge on them." "What about Greta?" "I regret killing her every day of my life. Sometimes I regret meeting her in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I love her with all my heart. But if I'd never met her, right now she'd be living a normal life. She wouldn't be fighting psychos, or be so closely connected to death. I thought I was saving her at the time, but really all I did was damn her to eternal suffering."
Will was surprised as Cissie threw her arms around him. "I've asked her about that before. I asked her if she'd regretted meeting you and you know what she told me? That after everything was all said in done, she's happy with her life right now. It might have meant suffering on both sides but she feels you're both better people because of it. She loves you, Will. She doesn't see you as someone who cursed her." Will returned the embrace, he'd talked to Greta countless times but to be honest he never had the guts to ask her that question. "And you know what? You may scare me witless but I kinda respect you too." "Riiiiiiiiight." "No, really. For a similar reason as well. I didn't like who I was turning into after I fired that arrow...so I ran away from it. The only reason I even bothered picking up a bow again was because of my mom. You're able to stay at it after crossing that line between good and evil. But as I'm talking to you, I wonder if you ever really completely crossed it at all." "That's the most common misconception. I was evil. 'The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.' So is evil most of the time. Only a few people are evil because they want to be evil. If you dig deep enough, there's something driving them. What drove me was the pain of being alone. I figured if I was the best out there, it wouldn't matter if I was alone, I'd be the best."
"Well you're not alone now are you?" Will let go of the embrace and smiled at Cissie. "No. Though sometimes I wonder, maybe that's all that's keeping me good. But if for some reason I was alone again..." "I'll tell you something I've told Duo and Greta. If it really bothers you that you might turn evil...then you're not." With that said Cissie flicked Will in the head. Will merely rolled his eyes before looking at her again. "THAT'S IT! THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO SEE! BRING THE CAMERAS!" This caused both Will and Cissie to leap so high into the air you thought they could fly. As Will turned he saw Joe Westin looking at the two of them excitedly. "THAT'S THE CHEMISTRY!" Will raised one of his eyebrows and gave a look to Cissie who was trying not to laugh. "Ready for some more filming?" "Yeah, I think I'm good."
And the filming went as well as the second half. Now that Will and Cissie had worked out their differences they looked like the perfect brother/sister coupling. The entire episode was able to be filmed in that one night, which was good considering that for obvious reasons Joe wasn't much of a daylight person. After the last shot was done the cast gave Will and Cissie a welcoming howl which Cissie remembered from her first time. "Now you're sure you don't want to be a regular?" "No no, a recurring character works just fine for me. I'll give Cissie a ride home." Joe gave a nod as went to the editing room to finalize the episode. Everything seemed just fine as Will and Cissie were fooling around making fun of Will's acting before they were both pulled into an alley.
"We were watching. It was fine as long as the show was only going to mock werewolves, but if that fool thinks we're going to let him mock us we're going to have to make an example of you." Will rolled his eyes, he didn't even need to look to know what was happening. A vampire gang, similar to the werewolf gang Cissie encountered during her first filming. Normally this wouldn't have bothered Will in the slightest, but they had Cissie as well which to be honest ticked him off. And of course they were obviously amateurs so there was a harmless way to get rid of them.
Slamming one of them against the wall Will's eyes began to glow and his clothes began to shift around and soon he was in his Harm costume. "Do you have any idea who I am?! I'm one of the six! You measily little demon wannabes should be honored that I'm pretending to be one of your kind! Maybe I should take you all down to Hell and take you before Satan himself hm?" Harm looked behind him as a portal to Hell opened, Hellfire shooting out of the hole causing Harm to look even more intimidating. "Or should I kill you right here?" Harm's hands began to glow with Hellborn energy just begging to be released. A sinister smile crossed Harm's face, his plan was working just fine. The vampires were scared out of their minds, he couldn't help but inwardly laugh at the fact that he was scaring scary things. "BOO!" That was apparently the last straw, the vampire in Harm's hands wriggled out of his grip and ran like Hell away from the portal followed by the rest of the vampires. Harm let out an evil grin as he closed the portal and changed his costume back into his street clothes.
Of course looking at Cissie he immediately saw the error in scaring scary things. "Um...Cissie...you know that was just an act right? I'm not evil remember?" But Cissie was just standing there looking like she'd seen a ghost. Harm let out a sigh as he shadowported both of them back to Elias. To paraphrase an old saying, One step forward, two steps back.
The End
