Title: The Superboy Situation.
Description: The final word.

True Believer - March 18, 2004 12:45 AM (GMT)
I've thinking about this issue and I'm getting more and more ticked off. Superboy won't be gay. Or Bi for that matter, that's final. Nothing against havin' gay or bi characters in this site, this is not the issue.

But I will not allow anyone to change the truth nature of the canon characters. If he isn't gay in the comics, he wont be gay in the YJUTT. AND THAT IS FINAL. If he is gay, or bi for that matter, in the comics he won't be straight here. Check rule #11.

Poe decided to turn Superboy gay and a war started in the site, the ggravation was such, that I who put so much effort to upgrade the YJUTT considered leaving the site. The aggravation was such that Alan, who's been one of the most loyal Rpgers (not to mention that he's pretty much the best RPGer I've ever met) considered leaving too.

Why? Because Poe wouldn't let go. Because the admin, gave their final word and Poe JUST WOULDN'T LET GO. Check rule #7. Poe even tried to convince us to change the rules so it would better suit his intentions.

Let's say we would do this. Then What? Perhaps someone else has a cool storyline idea but it would involve, I don't, Falcon dying. Then this person would start babbling how we should also change the rules to better suit him. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The old rules remain. We're not changing LET GO OF IT.

Then Poe decided to clone Superboy and make him Poe's b/f. A clone of Superboy would be an original character. Such as Poe. Check rule #4. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Earlier today Poe agreed giving me Superboy, but then later in the chat room he (and Chris) tried to talk me out of me, seriously THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING. This is not the first time you did this Poe. I seriously tell you this: DO NOT DO IT AGAIN!! I will play Superboy, yes. I won't give him up to somebody else. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Poe you CANNOT play a Superboy clone because:

A) You already have an original character.
B) We don't want a bunch of Superboy clones hanging around.

Like I said earlier if you want to play a gay canon character to be Poe's beau, by all means do it. AS LONG AS THE CHARACTER IS GAY IN THE COMICS. You might say that we don't have any teen gay characters. Bull. We do. Terrence Berg, one of the coolest supporting characters from DC.

He is gay. You can apply for him, give him powers (or not) and play him as Poe's character, but YOU WILL NOT play a canon character and 'turn' him gay. NOT ON MY WATCH. This isn't a debate. My word is final. Check rule #7.

I know that I'm probablh coming across as the bad guy for the newcomers but I honestly don't mind anymore. I am a admin, and part of my job is to lay down some rules otherwise is anarchy.

The Mighty Fab.

PS: (those are the rules in case you're wondering)

3) You can play two characters. That's it.

4) One Original per person. Not more. (Originals aren't being allowed)

7) The Admins are like Gods. You don't argue with God do you? If they say it, it goes.

11) If you are playing an canon character, keep their personality and quirks in mind when posting as them. We don't want to see, for example: Martian Manhunter doesn't behave like Plastic Man. Characterizations are a must.

Actualy, in your example, I wouldn't mind if they killed my character, as long as they brought em' back safe and sound. Cause everbody knows no one really dies in comics :D
Other than that I have no qualms, I just like getting subject allot for no apparent reason.
(I know....weird, but hey, I'm tired. What do you exspect?<<

Well, it's really like Fab said. We've been discussing the issue for days now and the Admins have been discussing it in private too and this is what we've decided.
We don't mind having gay or bi or lesbian or any other kind of character, but if that's not how they are in the comics, that's not how it works.
Also, Superboy clones are...Confusing. We can't have four or five SBs running around.

I'm glad someone finally put their foot down. I'm hoping that is the very last we will ever here about the subject of a 'gay Superboy'.

Plus if one person creates a canon character clone to make 'alterations' on, so can other players.

They can create Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash and Batman clones who are 'different'. And then where will we be? 6 or 7 different versions of each character who are all kinds of messed up. <_<

I'm Posting Supes bio in a bit. I'm playin' him again.

Falcon - March 18, 2004 02:45 AM (GMT)
Hey, totaly agree with you guys. If you made a batman clone, he couldn't exactly be made to be a valley girl...(Though that would make for an....interesting mental image.....NO...*Heh, I mean, imagine a sparkely pink batman costumr(Like the 'Rainbow batman from the fifties) and a chihuahua and a valley girl , like, accent.....scarey picture, no? *)

Just trying to lighten things up. Don't want this thing to tear down the website....but I agree with you guys, plus, its already been decieded in HQ.

Robin - March 18, 2004 03:49 AM (GMT)
Oh the mental imagery....

I know I ain't an Admin like all of you but I actually have something to say to this.

I also agree with all of you. This site was made simply for playing out a character whom you know how to act out. Changing them here and now would be like changing batman into the nicest guy in town after a gruesome battle somewhere in the middle of the series 'cause it was getting to boring. If anything he would be getting slightly meaner or more reclusive.

I'm surprised all of the admins have decided to be fair andd listen to whats been said all of this time. They could have simply said no and been done with it, but they did you one better they gave you a character with whom to play out your intentions.

I am surprised a twisting of the rules was asked for. That really should never have even reached the brain Poe's mind (I think it was him).

Ok I understand you wanting to tweak a character after all this really isn't an official canon site, for you can make up new people. But the admins, or at least the root admin had an idea and he wantedd to keep it so all the previously made characters would stay as they had always been. They didnt want them to change (not a big change anyway).

Well that was my two cents. Dont spend them all in one place.

Falcon - March 18, 2004 03:57 AM (GMT)
LOL. Disturbing, no? That wouldn't be ok for a clone of Batman. And batman coulodn't exactly be a big cuddley teddy bear. . So While the creepy Valleygirl Batman(Now available at toys r' us with voice sounding action "Crimnals are, like, cowardly and superstitiooooouuus".....Chiuhuahua sold seperately. Does not come with Dumb Blond beverly Hills Robin or Hollywood harlot Batgirl.) is VERY exagerated, its no less accurate. Characters and their clones should stay true to form.

Falcon - March 18, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
Swear these aren't my ideas. My cousin 'The incredible flab' on this site, is feeding em to me....the way HE tells it is actualy funny though....HELP ::[help]:: He's brain washing me!!!

Jakazul - March 18, 2004 03:12 PM (GMT)
Wait... Cyborg just gave us two cents! SWEET!
But seriously, Cy', Admin or not we're ALL still members and I'm glad you put in your's... And glad that you agreed, I'm waaaaay too tired to argue. I've been sick and arguing for the last three days now.
And Rach'... "DON'T MISS BATMAN: THE ARKANSAS FILES NEXT WEEK ON THE WB." ;)
