Title: Never thought I'd say this...
Description: buuuuuut...
Marx - October 23, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
I think I'm going to quit RPGing. It just doesn't seem like as much fun as it used to be. Not really blaming anyone or anything, just seems like most of us have moved on. To get most people involved in the stories I'd have to bug the hell out of em which nobody had to do before, we all posted because it was fun, we all wanted to see how the story would pan out, we'd stay up stupidly late because we'd be so into them. We even got into huuuuge arguements because we forgot to wait for people, that's how fast the stories were moving. Now it's like we're lucky to get one post every other day. Hell, I'm the GM of both main stories, and both just seem to be lagging and not as interesting. I'm not saying I'm the only one posting, nor is this some kind of "post now or I quit" ultimatum. It's just sometimes posting feels like I'm riding a limpy little horse, hoping the thing would get stronger and it's just not happening.
Of course I could be wrong and just imagining things, if that's the case then please by all means let me know.

I don't think you have to think that, I mean sure we've kinda been having a lot of people say that they're in the story and then never post, but they usually have busy lives and they are just living those lives.

My point exactly, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It's just that when the stories repeatedly stretch on so long that even the GM gets tired of them it starts to take the fun out of it and you start posting because you're supposed to and not because it's fun.

I can kinda see what you are saying, but you are such an important part of this team (YJUTT) Super got CM3 into YJ3 and that was pretty cool of you to do that (that's why I wanted Freddy to be friends with Marx in the stories that they are in.)

What the...where did this come from??
Marx - October 23, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
*shrugs* It's kind of been building up for awhile now. At first it seemed like I was one of the only ones who still had fun RPGing and then that started fading. I still want to do it kinda...just my enthusiasm's gone. Seems more like I'm doing it out of obligation. At the very least I'll most likely be taking a bit of a break after the current storylines finish.
And thanx KF, nice to feel important.

Well I can certainly relate to this. (That's gotta be my shortest post ever besides the one word-wars with Matt.)

lol Wow Jake you're so talkative, we don't time to read all that, get to the point. :P
And okay, how about this. I'll definitely stay on to at least finish the current stories and I'll see after they're done if I'll be taking a break or not. That might just be what I need, a chance to see if I'll miss it or not. And yes I do realize that if I stop posting the RPG might not die per say...but it'll come pretty close(lol and I'm not bragging, I'm being sincere). So much responsibility.
And actually the Outsiders story isn't that bad, yeah it's kind of lagging at the moment but almost everyone is posting. But in the TT/YJ storyline, to get things moving I'll have to post as Harm, Super, Wondy, Superboy, Secret, Duo, and possibly IK, and that doesn't include the Deviants themselves.

Heh, you and I both no that if you do leave you will be drawn back in. Just like everybody else. I mean look at me, I always come back. Granted that could be because you ask me every other day and I usually just give in :-p
I totally see what you mean though. If I remember correctly there was more posting way back when. Haven't the foggiest why everything has decreased, though. I understand that people do have lives but when I played Cyborg I remember some people didn't post at home 'cause they didnt have time, they posted at their school libraries. People now don't even seem to bother.
