Title: Confessions of a demon
Description: This one's not just about Harm!...mostly

"People tend to see cloning as immoral, but in all honesty I see those people as close-minded. Cloning has such good potential. Some of the most influential people we have are clones. Such as Superboy or Guardian. With the knowledge we have, we can have science can reach places it could never go to before because the scientists won't be limited by their lifespans."
Will scoffed slightly as he changed the channel. "Hey! I was watching that!" Cassie said sternly as she pouted slightly and reached for the remote. Will playfully dodged her thrust raising the remote farther than she could reach. "You only turned because they mentioned Kon!" Doing a slight flip, Will moved to the other side of the couch as Cassie jumped up once again missing the remote. "Not exactly. He was going to start ranting about how immortality is a good thing. I'll have you know it's not anywhere near as good as people make it sound." Cassie was trying not to smile but a slight smirk was peeping out the corner of her lips as she stopped for the minute, though you could tell she was just timing her pounce.
"So says the 18 year old! Does that mean you'd love me any less if I were immortal?" The question took Will a bit by surprise which was just enough for Cassie to get the remote. But after she got it she turned the television off and turned back to Will waiting for his answer. Will had been slightly distracted by the 18 year old joke, since emotionally he was closer to 20 after his two years in Hell, of course she didn't know about that. "...Of course not. I'd love you no matter how long you lived...now...the remote if you please?" Almost immediately after he said that, Will pounced on Cassie causing both of them to roll off the couch and before Cass could fight back, Will had her pinned to the ground with a devilish smirk.
Unfortunately this was extremely similar to when Vicious had Cassie pinned down before she lost consciousness, which didn't exactly give her the best memory. This was shown as a look a fear made it's way onto Cassie's face and she retaliated with a blow that knocked Will halfway across the room. After blinking a few times she realized what she did. "Holy Hera! Will! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" Will was, pardon the pun, unharmed(ba dum bum) by the blow, but as Cassie looked at his expression she felt even worse. He looked slightly guilty as if he deserved the hit. In his mind he felt like he did, he forgot what he was, a demon trying to be a human. "It's no biggie...I shouldn't have pinned you like that..." Will said as he wiped himself off while he stood up. "No! It wasn't that, I swear! I'm not scared of you, Will!"
"Right...you're just a good actress. Look, it's really okay Cass. Almost everyone's slightly scared of me since I got the...new look whether they admit it or not." "BUT I REALLY WASN'T SCARED OF YOU! I WAS SCARED OF..." Cassie yelled but then began to trail off near the end of the sentence. While the yell did get Will's attention he really wasn't buying it, he'd come to accept that people who knew that his odd eyes weren't contacts would be kind of intimidated by him. "Scared of what, Cass?" Will said in almost a monotone voice. "...Lister..." "Oh.." Will said slightly surprised since it was a legitimate answer. Then as he thought back to what happened between the two of them, it hit him exactly what he triggered. "..ooooh. I'm..really sorry about that, Cass. You have no idea how sorry I am."
Cassie walked towards Will and put her hand against his cheek. "It's not your fault, baby. You don't have anything to be sorry for." Once again Will didn't make eye contact. "But if I'd have had my powers then...I could have stopped him before he got to you. To anyone." Immediately Cassie took Will's face and forced him to look at her, surprising him once again with her stern look. "Now you listen to me! I don't blame any of that on you! Even if...he'd actually...done what he was going to do to me...I wouldn't have placed any blame on you! Because it wouldn't be your fault! You got rid of your powers because of me in the first place! And even with them there's no guarentee you'd have won!" Normally Will had no problem listening to Cassie, no matter how girly the conversation or how much he actually cared about the subject matter he'd always paid attention. But halfway through what she said he could honestly say he had no clue what the rest of it was. "Wait...he...didn't do...what...he was..."
Cassie's eyes shot wide open. "No! Oh my God, Will! You mean this whole time you thought he...Oh Will! I'm so sorry! I thought you knew! The hospital checked and everything. All he did was beat me up." She threw her arms around her boyfriend. She could only imagine how much he'd been beating himself up over that. "Most likely Duo being out there scared him away before he could...start...but he didn't okay, Will?" The two of them stood in silence for awile, neither one breaking the embrace. Neither of them were crying or anything like that, they were simply enjoying the embrace. Will had no clue what to say, this whole time he'd read the entire situation wrong. Sure it was a bad situation any way you put it, but it could have been a lot worst. Cassie's wounds were healed, he hair was slowly growing back, but some things wouldn't be able to heal nearly as easily. After a few more minutes of silence, Cassie finally spoke up. "But...there is something I'd like to tell you. After what you thought happened...it probably won't freak you out as much as it will with everyone else when I tell them. But...you might look at me differently..."
"What? You were born a guy?" Once again Cassie's eyes flew wide. "No you idiot!" She yelled as she playfully shoved him away. The two of them laughed at the silliness of the situation for awhile. To be honest that was probably one of the best placed jokes Will had made, at that point the two of them really needed a laugh. "...I found out who my father is..." Of course this piqued Will's curiosity, he couldn't remember her really talking about her father, and whoever he was, he had to be better than Will's... "Remember that immortality question I asked you a little earlier?" "Yyeeeah?" "Well...I asked you that because I kinda...might be...my father's Zeus." Will paused slightly as he absorbed the new information.
"So...that would make you...a demigoddess..." "...yeah..." Will seemed to be thinking about something, and before she could protest, he hit the floor as he bowwed repeatedly. "Oh my goddess! I'm not worthy!" Cassie was taken back by Will's joke. "Stop that! Stop it right now or I'll...sock you again...with lightning..." Will raised his head as well as an eyebrow. "You can do that?" "Well...yeah...with my lasso..." "Wait! That's god-lightning! That's so awesome!" Cassie was obviously surprised by Will's reaction. "Will! This isn't funny!" She said as she crossed her arms and began to pout slightly. Will in turn put his hand on her shoulder. "Trust me. You being a goddess is hilarious considering me. I found out who my father was a little while ago, and believe me, I'd rather have yours in a second."
This was apparently a really surprising day for Cassie. For one reason or another it seemed that the past hour or so all that had been happening was her getting shock after shock. "Wait you found out who your father was? Your real father? Who?" Will immediately regretted saying anything. Sure she was afraid he'd treat her differently knowing she's part goddess, but he could guarentee he was much more scared to tell her the truth. If he told her his father, he's also have to tell her what he was...
"Invisible Kid to Harm! We have a situation!" Almost answering Will's prayers the T-Terminal went off, distracting both heroes.
Marx - January 30, 2006 10:20 PM (GMT)
"What's the problem Lyle?" Will asked with vested interest. Hopefully whatever it was would be big enough that Cassie'd forget about the father thing. Really doubtful but a man could hope. "We just got a call of a bank robbery. So far there's no problem which is why we didn't call you but apparently there's a couple of demons and a dragon going on a rampage in downtown. We'll be there when we can. Do you think you can handle it?" Will had already used his powers to get into costume. A couple of demons and a dragon? That shouldn't be too hard. "I have Cassie with me, we'll let you know if we need help." "No problem. Invisible Kid out."
"Cass are you ready?" Harm turned to Cassie to see her giving him a weird look. "Well all of us can't just materialize clothes now can we?" A dark smirk crossed Harm's face. "Well, I could always help you get dressed." Cassie's eyes went wide as she blushed slightly. "Will! Now's not the time!" "No no! I meant I could do your clothes the same way, honest...unless of course...you want me to-" "Will!" Harm snickered slightly as he formed a black cloud around Cassie and after it dissipated, she was in her Wonder Girl outfit. Turning her head she began to check herself out. "Very good job. Didn't know you paid so much attention to my costume. Though you...kinda...made it a little tight in some areas." "Uh...cuts down on wind resistance?" Cassie gave Harm a dark smirk. "A likely story. I suppose we'll be taking the shadow express?" "You know it." As Cassie held out her hand, Harm took it and the shadows in the room engulfed them. When the darkness subsided the screams of the terrified public became evident.
Looking up, Harm saw the various demons attacking. Most of them he recognized. They were pretty low level, minions most likely. But where there are minions there have to be a boss. He then noticed a teenage boy dressed in black leather with a bandanna on his head seeming oddly calm amongst the carnage as he commanded one of the demons to attack a nearby shop. Harm could sense the aura from where they were, that was no ordinary kid. "I got the kid. Think you can handle the demons?" Wonder Girl gave him a confident smile in reply. "I am a demigoddess aren't I?" Harm smirked as he ran towards the boy. Though part of him was wondering something. Invisible Kid said something about a dragon, but he didn't see any.
"You know kid, you really shouldn't play with demons. They tend to bite the hand that feeds them." The kid turned up to Harm as his eyes flashed red briefly. "So said the demon. It's funny that you're the first one to try and stop me. After all you're the one I'm after anyway." The kid seemed oddly calm as he talked, not taking into accound how dangerous his adversary could be. Harm tried to see if he could recognize the kid but nothing was forthcoming. Ah well, I guess that's the problem with having enemies both good and evil, you kinda lose track. "Well, you found me. I guess you can stop the attack then." The kid let out a maniacal chuckle. "Heh. I haven't even started the attack yet...Billy." Harm narrowed his eyes as he was called by his old name. Who the hell could this kid be, he was just a little younger than Harm himself. The kid stuck his hands into his pockets, and suddenly his eyes split almost like a lizard's.
Harm could tell a transformation when he saw it. The kid was the dragon. But Harm'd be damned if he was just going to let the transformation happen. Charging at the kid, Harm delivered a side kick that drove the kid into a brick wall. Even though there was a slight impression as the bricks crumbled of from the impact, the transformation was still finished. "Oh of course. He couldn't be a human sized dragon, he had to be a giant one *sigh*." Harm quipped as he tried to put a holding spell on the dragon with no success. "Very funny, Billy. I'm glad the years have left you with so much humor. They've been Hell for me." A stream of fire came out of the dragon's mouth so big that Harm couldn't dodge it, he simply shadowported on the roof of a nearby building. Looking at the devestation left in the blast's wake, it was obvious that wasn't normal fire either. Harm's hands began to burn as he summoned his energy blasts and fired them down on the dragon's head. But despite the dragon's size he was amazingly quick as he dodge the blast and dashed up the roof, hitting Harm with his tail, knocking Harm at least two buildings away in length.
Harm landed in between two buildings and once again cursed the fact that he didn't have invulnerability. Not only was that damn dragon faster than it looked it was stronger too. He had to wait a few seconds for his bones to realign enough so he could move. "Geeze I hope Cassie didn't see that." "Believe me, at this point that should be the least of your worries." This time Harm was able to dodge the claws of the dragon. But that was mostly because between the two buildings the dragon didn't have a lot of room to move which gave Harm the advantage as he ran up the dragon delivering a hard kick to it's jaw. The dragon teetered slightly from the blow but that was about it, as it spread it's arms crushing parts of the walls not only giving it more room, but also burying Harm in the debris. "You have no idea how hard it was to find you. After all, William Hayes is supposed to be dead. I only assumed that you'd find a different name after you came back but it seemed both you and your sister were quite cocky that no one would be able to tell the difference." Harm was able to shadowport away from the debris before they burried him completly and shot another blast from the remains of the fire escape. "If you even think about going after her, I'll-!"
The dragon simply held out his hand and took the blast which did little more than a smoking impression. "I have no problem with her. After all she's just another of your victims. You shouldn't let it worry you anyway. It'll be increasingly hard to be protective after I kill you...and make sure you stay dead this time." "Better than you have tried." Harm formed two swords and began to make multiple slashing motions towards the dragon, hoping he'd be fast enough to get a hit in and take out it's legs. But with the extra room, the dragon was able to flip forward and Harm got another taste of it's tail which ground him into the concrete. "I'm surprised you haven't asked who I am. Aren't you curious in the least?" Harm looked up with blood dripping from his mouth. "It's a hassle trying to keep my old enemies straight. I don't have time to remember new ones." Harm then shadowported on the dragon's nose and almost stabbed him in the eyes but it turned out the dragon didn't only breathe fire from his mouth...he had fire eye beams...sucks to be Harm don't it? "Oh come now. You mean in this form I don't look just a little familiar?" Harm's vision was coming back as he stared at the dragon again. His eyes then went wide as he realized that he did in fact recognize the dragon...and he remembered why.
(Yeah, that's the end of the post. I know...I'm totally mean like that :P)
Marx - March 5, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
The dragon resembled the dragon dagger Harm's adoptive father used to have. The one that he accidentally sliced his adoptive father with as a matter of fact. And to really drive it home, the dragon opened it's mouth, but not to spit out fire. His tongue was like a long, flexible sword which he was using as a weapon to try and slice Harm with. Jumping into the air, he was able to dodge the tongue and fired and energy blast at it, which turned out to be a bad idea as the blast was reflected into one of the broken buildings. "Okay...I shouldn't try that again...." Harm stated as he was beginning to feel more useless by the minute.
But turning his mind back to the matter at hand he glared at the dragon. "Fine! I'll bite! How did you get that knife and how the Hell do you know me?" The dragon's tongue hadn't stopped moving though as it sliced through Harm's arm, driving Harm into the rubble of one of the buildings. The dragon licked his lips as his tongue went back into his mouth. "Well, there might not be a point. Since you've had so many enemies, you've probably killed so many people that you wouldn't know me anyway." Harm narrowed his eyes as his arm began to grow back. "I didn't kill you." Much to contrary belief, while Harm did kill his fair share, this kid didn't seem like he was a complete demon. He was a demon/human hybrid and Harm remembered every human he killed, and that kid wasn't one of them, the didn't even slightly resemble anyone.
"No. You didn't." The dragon's eyes began to narrow as he glared at Harm. "You killed my mother." Harm stopped in his tracks. There were only two females that he killed. His sister, who he knew for a fact wouldn't have had a child (he paid very close attention to any guy who showed even the slightest interest in Greta, he wasn't positive but he even suspected she was about to go on a date the day he killed her), and his school counselor. Blinking slightly he stared at the dragon. "She...had a son?" Great. Harm had felt guilty enough about that without knowing that he took away someone's mother. Harm looked up to the dragon. "Look...you have every reason to want to kill me. I'd do the same thing in your position. I don't know your name...but I'm sor-" Before Harm could finish the sentence he was engulfed in the dragon's flame.
He'd suspected that wasn't normal fire and he was totally right. It felt oddly familiar as a matter of fact, a little too familiar...and not in a good way. "NOT AGAIN!" Harm yelled as he jumped out of the fire, in his demonic form. Had he stayed in his human form he probably would have died...again, but his memories of Hell weren't exactly pleasant. In his demonic form Harm was actually taller than the dragon. As Harm spoke his voice rumbled like a growl. "I feel for you. I really do. I regret killing your mother, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you kill me." The dragon growled in return. "Who said you were going to 'let' me doing anything. Demon or not, I'm going to kill you and that's a fact." Harm backhanded the dragon with all his strength causing the dragon to hit the ground so hard it left an impression. "Don't you get it, you idiot! You got your powers from my father! All you are is a pawn! You're probably not even strong enough to take me out in this form!"
The dragon slowly got up with a look of fury on his face. "Only one way to find out!" With that, the dragon flipped forward with his surprising speed and tried once again to hit Harm with his tail, only this time it was stopped by Harm's hand. Harm had to admit that this form completely had it's advantages. He'd begun to get used to the pain of his human form. It'd gotten to the point where he didn't realize how much pain he was usually in until he let go and let his true self out and didn't feel it anymore. Of course this allowed him to be able to really let loose. Which is exactly what he did taking the dragon's tail and slamming him multiple times causing even more rubble to pile up on him followed by punch that sent shockwaves through the alley. Harm cocked his head to the side trying his best not to look at the dragon in pity. The blows were apparently enough to cause the dragon to start changing back into his human form.
A black cloud began to surround Harm's hand as he seemingly reached inside of the kid's chest and pulled out the knife which seemed incredibly small thanks to Harm's demon form. The kid continuted to glare at Harm, with his eyes glistening slightly with the beginning of tears that he was trying to hold back. "I...swear I'll...kill you!" Harm's eyes narrowed again as he looked at the kid. "Maybe. But it won't be today. Now I suggest you leave before I send you to my father and let you talk to him about your failure." But the kid continued to glare at Harm as if he wanted to do something but didn't really know what to do. Harm was about to shadowport the kid away when the kid suddenly burst into flames and began to spread. It was apparently a last ditch effort if he no longer had the dark energy of the knife to draw from. But at this point, he didn't feel like doing it. "If that's the way you want it." The kid turned back as he heard it before he saw it. The screams of the countless souls being tortured for eternity. Before he could fight it, the only one in left in the alley was Harm.
"Who are you and what did you do to Harm?!" Harm's eyes shot wide as he recognized Cassie's voice and realized that he was still in his demonic form.
Marx - March 10, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
Harm slowly turned around and almost flinched as he saw the fury on Cassie's face. He saw her give a quick glance to the corner and realize that the part of his arm that was cut off was still on the ground even though he regrew it. A huge demon...screams from Hell...and a dismembered arm...Harm never thought he'd look so guilty of killing himself. "Where...is...HE!" Cassie yelled, her body shaking with anger and hurt. Under different circumstances Harm would have been touched. After all, his "death" is the reason she's so mad. But the fact was...she was looking at him like he was a monster...the one thing he feared the most from her.
Wonder Girl's fists began to clinch around her lasso. "If you...hurt him...I'm going to kill you. And I can guarentee it'll be much worst than anything your master will put you through!" Harm continued just to look at Cassie silently. "SAY SOMETHING!" Wonder Girl yelled once again, glancing worryingly to the severed arm. "I'LL MAKE YOU TALK THEN!"
Harm had used his demon form in battle two times in total. Once against Knockout and once against the dragon just recently. Both times he won the fight pretty easily giving him a sense of invincibility that he did his best to keep in check. He didn't think he'd have a problem with that anymore as he felt the godlike lightning going through his body. It hurt...a lot, but Harm didn't make a sound, he simply felt to one knee. After that Harm began to lose count of the number of strikes went through him. Cassie really was trying to kill him, and to be honest if he'd been human with demonic connections he'd have died after the second bolt. But now he was smoldering looking down at the floor.
But Cassie wasn't done as he felt her punch once again and even though he was much heavier in this form, her anger was enough to easily punch him into the air and through the rubble. Harm didn't have enough time to even breathe before she was on him again unleashing yet another punch that broke his nose. From that point on Harm wasn't sure what was going on, only that for the first time he was in more pain in his demon form than his human one.
When he opened his eyes he looked into Cassie's as she was in midpunch. Her eyes shot wide as she stopped the punch and almost seemed to squint. "....Will?" Harm tried his best not to look surprised that she somehow could have recognized him, especially since she seemed to get even angrier if that was possible. "Dammit Will! I know it's you so you can stop with the silent treatment! How could you do this to me!? Did you even think about me? How I'd feel if I had killed you, thinking I was avenging you!!? Or how about letting me think you were dead in the first place!? How would you feel if you thought I was dead, Will!?" Harm's expression was one of pure surprise at Cassie's onslaught of words, not that it was the first time she yelled at him like this...as a matter of fact the last time she did was when she broke up with him.
Cassie took a deep breath as if reading Harm's mind. "...Okay...okay...I'll calm down. I'm sure...there's a reason you didn't let me know it was you. Just talk to me...please?" Harm let out a sigh. "How did you recognize me?" Cassie replied with a smirk. "The way you looked at me. It was the same way you did this morning. Like you deserved it..." Harm looked down again. "That's because I do." Cassie went to hug Harm's leg...since at his size that was the most she could hug. "Will, don't worry we'll find a way to turn you back."
Part of Harm wanted to laugh. She thought that he'd been turned into a demon...which was technically true but not in the way she was thinking. "Uh...yeah...about that...whole...turning me back thing..."
Marx - March 13, 2006 12:19 AM (GMT)
"What about it?" Cassie asked looking up curiously. "Well...you see...you can't really cure me of this form." Cassie rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Come on, Will. Even with magic in flux I'm sure we'll be able to find someone who can change you back." Harm's eyes narrowed, she wasn't making this any easier. "No you don't quite get it...I can turn myself back human anytime I want." Cassie seemed to be a bit confused and was about to say something but Harm interrupted her. "Let me finish. Trust me it'll be a lot easier this way. What you see now is my demonic form. And as much as I hate to admit it, it's my natural one." After finishing the sentence Harm slowly turned back into his human form. "This one is technically the one I transform to." Seeing that Cassie looked even more confused, Harm let out a sigh.
"Okay, let me start at the beginning." Cassie just looked in amazement as Harm told her what happened after Hellfire had kidnapped her. About how he lost both his sais and against Robin's wishes went to Hell to get his demonic connections back. That he got his connections back and much more, but not before being tortured in a special section of Hell for roughly 2 years. And the fact that he technically died in Hell and needed a new body which was the huge demonic one she'd seen previously. It was only because of his powers that he was even able to look human, and he'd only recently begun to really get the hang of that (in the sense that he was beginning to be able to go to sleep and stay in his human form). Cassie's eyes seemed to be slightly watery and Harm immediatly knew why. "Don't go blaming yourself for getting captured. It wasn't like I did much better without being a freakin demon."
"But...if I'd been able to protect you like you always protect me...you wouldn't have died again...." She could tell Harm was about to protest and quickly changed the subject. "Why did he have a special section of Hell for you?" Harm winced as he realized there was a slight detail he'd forgotten to tell her. "....Because...everytime he has a child they always eventually turn on him and try to take over Hell." Once again Cassie seemed slightly confused but eventually got it. "So...when you said your biological father was worse than mine...you meant..." "That he was literally evil incarnate. Yeah." Harm said as he seemed to be kind of depressed, leaning against what was left of the wall. Cassie was obviously at a loss for words as she stood beside him, looking into his red and black eyes. "You know....just because your father's evil doesn't make you...I mean...I'm not a total womanizer am I?" A dark smirk crossed Will's face. "I can only hope."
Cassie's eyes shot open as her cheeks began to burn, she tried to slap Will but he'd already moved from the wall. "You took care of the demons right? I think we should go back." Cassie looked at the damaged buildings left from Harm and the dragon's battle. "Er...think you can fix that first?" Harm smirked a little as he realized it wouldn't really have been right to just leave it like that even if that would drain him even more than he already was. In less than a minute, the buildings looked good as new and after reporting to Invisible Kid, Harm shadowported them back to Elias which seemed to still be empty. Quickly changing them both back into their civilian clothes, Will sat back on the couch quietly as Cassie purposely sat as close to him as she could. "You know...I know why you didn't tell me everything until now. You probably thought I'd overreact like I did last time." Facing Will, she literally grabbed his face and made him look at her. "Will, I love you. Not what you are on the outside, but who you are on the inside. I want to be with you, and help you overcome your darkness because I know you can. I'm...really sorry about last time Will. I left you when you needed me the most. I won't make that same mistake again."
Will was taken back by the sudden show of emotion and softly kissed Cassie on the lips. "You know I never blamed you for that." "I know. But you do realize I'm not perfect right? I do make mistakes." Will began to smirk. "I thought you were a goddess." Cassie narrowed her eyes as she pounced on Will. "Demi goddess!" The two wrestled a little until the fell off the couch. "So...is there anything else I don't know?" Will sat up as he thought. "Well...I do stab myself on occasion." Cassie's eyes shot open and she looked at Will like she'd heard him wrong. "....What?" "You know...I make a knife, put my hand on the table and...." Will began to make stabbing motions with his hand while making the "Psycho" noise. "But....why?...." Will began to stare at his hand. "I was tortured nonstop for two years, and in my human form I'm in constant pain trying to hold my demonic form inside. But lately I've been getting more used to it so it doesn't really hurt anymore, and I know it sounds weird but I've just...kinda grown accustomed to being in..." "Pain? So..you're basically a masochist. How...kinky?"
Will looked at Cassie's face. She had the expression of someone who was freaked out but didn't want to let anyone know it. Trying not to laugh, Will replied, "No no. It's not like 'Ooo baby hurt me some more.' or anything like that. Sometimes the pain just...I dunno...I'm just used to it, and when I don't feel any pain for an extended period I just...I don't know..." Cassie seemed to be deep in thought before a smirk crossed her face that she tried to hide. "What about extended pleasure?" Will returned the smirk. "Well...only one way to find out."
(Yes...yes I do think I'll end the story here. Jump to your own conclusions. :P)
