An English American?

Once upon a time there was a roxxoor girl, she was fairly cool, kinda gothic in a punk way. Kinda funny too. The only thing was that she was English on a site of Americans.
The amazing English lass sat and pondered why she was the only one who pronounced her T’s with such clarity. She was heading over there and wanted to fit in.
What makes an American? Dollars, Thanksgiving, Drama and all you can eat buffets.
At least that’s what she deduced from MTV.
She changed all her £ to $, so now it seemed she had twice as much money. But she found the single bills confusing, plus she couldn’t use them in any shop she went into. Darn, foiled at the first hurdle.
Thusly she arranged a huge party for Thanksgiving, it was difficult to find the right decorations but she managed it. But nobody showed up because they didn’t understand the holiday. the poor girl sighed as she cleared the untouched food. If this had been the states, if she’d been American, then she’d be happy, and everyone would have come.
Three: Drama. This one was tricky, as a British person she was too reserved to say what she wanted, she tried to cause dramatic tension, but that lead to long boring monologues. She even thought to chance a scandalous photo op, but there’s so many that there’d really be no point.
That was it, she’s have to go for…the all you can eat buffets! Unfortunately, she was very picky, so she only liked half of what was there, and after the second plate she was feeling very very sick.
The girl was feeling very blue, she’d tried everything to become an American, now when she want over to the states she’d feel like she didn’t belong. She made herself a cup of tea and looked at the night sky. When suddenly a firework popped in the sky. It was so pretty. And followed by thousands more!
She pondered as she watched the sparkles fall from the sky. Of course! She’d been so busy thinking about US holidays she forgot about Bonfire night!
She smiled, what she thought made her so different actually was making her more unique. Americans know about Dollars and Thanksgiving, about Drama and All you can eat buffets. But they might not understand Bonfire night, or maybe even Boxing day. Plus she could always make them a cup of tea.

So the English girl who was totally lush went to the states and explored her culture, happy to be who she was.

BRAVA! BRAVA!

Excellent. She shouldn't too sad, though, imagine an American trying the other way around. My God, it would be horrible.
