First View of 'Spider-Man 3' Posted.
Sony Pictures on Thursday distributed the first poster art for Spider-Man 3, a movie that is not scheduled for release until May 2007. The poster shows Tobey Maguire, wearing a black Spidey costume, perched precariously on a pillar at night, while rain falls around him. The poster quickly was picked up by numerous film and sci-fi websites. Garth Franklin, who runs the DarkHorizons.com website, commented, "OK, so it's not as cool as, say, that Batman Begins poster with him swooping down from above ... but, as superhero teaser posters go, it's one of the best in years." And Joshua Tyler, editor-in-chief of CinemaBlend.com, remarked, "It's a huge departure from the previous two movies which were bright, and red, and blue. It's also gotten me all tingly about Spider-Man again. The image is just completely cool."
Plot: Third film in the highly successful "Spider-Man" series sees several new villains and a new woman enter Peter Parker's life. With his secret now revealed to both Mary Jane and Harry, Peter must face the consequences of his actions and his new life together with Mary Jane as they finally form a relationship. Yet their newfound open display of love has yielded some unfortunate results, not the least of which is Peter's upset boss determined to make his life hell for causing his son emotional distress. Not helping is a young investigative reporter named Eddie Brock who Jameson has hired to find out why Mary Jane dumped his son for Peter - what's Parker's secrets?
At the same time an escaped prisoner hiding out on a remote beach is caught in a dreadful accident and finds himself turned into a shape-shifting sand creature. Peter's investigations into the past of this 'Sandman' brings him in contact with two very different things that will inevitably alter his life. The first a young woman named Gwen Stacy, daughter of the city's new police chief who is developing a soft spot for Peter. The other, a black substance from an accident scene which 'merges' with Peter's costume and gives him new found abilities.
Things come to a head however when Harry Osborn, determined to take revenge against Peter for his father's death and now equipped with what he needs to pull it off, teams with The Sandman in a new variation of his father's Green Goblin guise and causes mayhem. In the ensuing chaos lives are lost, including people very close to Peter, whilst the black substance covering his suit separates from him and merges with a distraught Brock to form something else entirely - a creature unlike anything he's ever faced. A 'Venom' that he may not be able to stop.

it sounds good to me so far, i yust don't understand why the hell he is wearing the same spidy suit and all they did was make it black and white, i was hoping to see the orginal black suit that later turns out to be Venom...but i guess we can't have all that we want huh...

Ugh. Agreed. Movie looks good, but the "new" costume's just boring. Maybe it'll progress as he goes somehow, I hope.
Also, just personally, I think I'm gonna start laughing every time I see Lowell playing Sandman.

That is so dirt cheap.
And its ugly.
What is with the people in Hollywood taking a great thing and making it mediocre.
The Black Spiderman suit that turned into Venom is, in my opinion, the coolest suit he ever had, and that's because it was more than just a black colored version of his original suit. If that is all they're doing to it, I am not going to like it. They did the same thing with Dr. Doom and Ra's Al Ghul, especially Ra's. They took something great, and made it something mediocre.

What i'm thinking and hoping is that they are not showing what the actual venom suit looks like so we go "Oooooh coooool!!!" when they actually reveal the suit.
You know you will.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I'll be seriously annoyed if the "new" suit is just a black and white version of the old one. That's my fave spidey costume as well, can't tell you the number of times I've drawn it.
deathfromwithin - March 3, 2006 05:42 AM (GMT)
ha you only draw that one cuz it easier then drawing the lines on the red and blue one!!! :)
Marx - March 3, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
lol No no...It's a hell of a lot easier than drawing the lines on the red one. Which is probably why I always drew Spiderman in the black costume and not Venom, it's so much easier to draw without the mouth.

Did you just dis Batman Begins?
We must kung-fu fight

Huh. I NEVER trust the initial posters. They're subject to being either false to keep people from seeing their REAL ideas until it's time for the movie's release... or they're subject to being changed, between now and the release date.
Marx - March 3, 2006 08:57 PM (GMT)
I agree...and I totally want to see the kung fu fight.

*Looks at costume. * Meh *shrugs* I guess I'm just easy to please. It might just be the lighting.....ok, maybe not, but I'm not gonna knock a movie before I see it....with...a few exceptions.
Stepi01 - March 7, 2006 12:46 AM (GMT)
First, I will say that Batman Begins is the best Batman movie ever. Second, I did like how they used Ra's Al Ghul, and how it turned out to be Liam Neeson in the end.
HOWEVER, I was disappointed that they took the great Demon's Head, and turned him simply into a sword-fighting egomaniac. He's brilliant, no doubt, but in the comics, he is so much better.
Now, if you really want the Kung Fu fight, which I want...
PREPARE YOURSELF, GRASSHOPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stepi01 - March 8, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
"...then you can possibly imagine", actually.
I am still waiting. Of course, if you want to give up and surrender, then by all means... B)
