Title: Born to Prank
Description: Supersonic's Origin
Marx - March 14, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
"Hey guys! Wakey wakey! Traya's going to be bringing over some friends so as much as I enjoy your company, Marx, ya gotta go!" Both Marx and Duo roughly awoke from the bed to see Cissie looking at them with her hands on her hips. "Morning person...evil..." Marx muttered, which was followed by Duo. "Sleep...good..." With that, both teens flopped back on the bed. Cissie began to glare at the two of them. Despite Will and Marx's almost constant prescence in their dorm, Elias was an all girls school and if they were ever caught (as unlikely as that might be since one moves at superspeed and the other can move through shadows) they'd all get in trouble. "Come ooooon guys! It's not even morning! It's past noon!"
"It still counts." Duo mumbled as she pulled the pillow over her head. "You know, I think I'm very patient with you two! Staying up all night making all that noise, it's no wonder you sleep in so late! Considering how much noise you two make and that you sleep in the same bed if I didn't know you better I'd think something was going on." "How are you sure there isn't..." Super said with a smirk. A loud crack was heard as Duo formed her scythe and clocked Marx upside the head with it. "OW! Jeeze I'm awake now!" Cissie was trying not to laugh at the sillyness and keep her resolve. "That's how. Now up you two! Up up up!"
Suddenly the phone rang. Cissie gave the two heroes a glare that almost said 'you better be up when I get back' and went to answer it. Marx kicked to the side of the bed and stretched as he rubbed the back of his head. "You're off school today, right?" "If I wasn't...I think you'd be a little late telling me to get ready." Duo mumbled as she sat up with a stretch as well. "What did you do?" Duo glared at Marx suddenly. The accusation seemed to surprise the speedster. "Huh?" "I saw you blur slightly. You did something." Marx laughed slightly. "You just woke up, your entire vision is blurry." Duo looked at him suspiciously, but accepted it. Though Super had actually turned his head to get a better view of under Duo's shirt while she stretched but there's no way in Hell he'd actually admit that. "You want to see a movie or something today?" Super said as he blurred once again as he changed from his pjs into his tshirt and jeans, though to everyone else it pretty much looked like his clothes just randomly changed. "Sounds good to me."
"You know...it really creeps me out when you do that. Why don't you just get dressed in the bathroom like a normal person instead of doing it in full view?" Cissie had once again appeared in the doorway and seemed at least a little more pleased now that the two were finally up. "Ha. Like you could actually make any of that out. Even Duo can't. I bet you just want me to change slower so you can get in a few peeks." "You wish!" Cissie said while sticking out her tongue at Super. Meanwhile Duo had begun to get her clothes together. "And just how do you know I can't make it out?" Marx turned from Cissie to Duo with a confident expression on his face. "Because you'd have said something." Duo looked up from her clothes with a dark smirk. "Oh would I, Sir Peeksalot?" Super laughed at the name, just hoping she was referring to when he peeked awhile ago when they switched bodies...and not the one this morning. "Hey you got me back for that when you saw me in my boxers."
"As interesting as this conversation is, the phone was for you Duo. It's Eloise." Duo's eyes shot wide. "Oh!" Dashing out the door she ran to the phone. She hadn't gotten a call from Eloise and Bernard in awhile. Cisse smirked darkly as she looked back at Marx and began to speak lowly. "I take it she doesn't know?" Marx gave Cissie a perplexed look. "Know what?" "Oh you know. It's so obvious, I think you two are the only ones who don't see it." Marx cocked his head to the side, genuinely confused. "I know...what? You realize I'm a guy which automatically makes me totally oblivious to all hints." Cissie looked at the speedster in shock. "..You can't be that dense." Marx began to smirk a little. "That, my friend, is what you think."
"Marxy!" Super turned to Duo while Cissie seemed to jump slightly. "I'm sorry but I'm going to have to take a rain check on the movie. They need me to babysit Kelsey today." Super tried his best not to look disappointed but failed miserably. "Aw, don't pout, Marxy! I couldn't really say no." "I know, I know. I can figure out something to do today I guess." Duo seemed to look away slightly as she was thinking. "Er...well...if you...want to. You could rent a movie and come by later or something... We could watch it after Kelsey goes to sleep...." This immediately perked Super up. "Sweet! I could totally do that." Duo smiled a little but then immediately got a stern expression. "But you're not supposed to be there, so you'll have to be on your best behavior!" "I'll keep the pranks to a minimum." Super said with a mocking salute. "..Extreme minimum. Almost nonexistant." Duo said as her eyes narrowed even more. "I'll be good, I promise." Duo seemed satisfied with the answer and her expression relaxed. "Okay then, I'll go..get changed."
"Cool, I'll get the movie. See you soon, Duo." With that the speedster was gone, most likely to his room in YJHQ. Duo left to the bathroom as well, leaving Cissie alone with an odd confused expression on her face. "How...don't they see it? Really, I wanna know."
Marx - March 24, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
It didn't take long for Duo to take a shower and get changed. Things had been gradually getting better with her dreams and with Super and her friendship. As a matter of fact things were better than ever, even though she still blocked him off whenever they had awkward moments ever since what happened at the dance, things were so good now that she didn't want to ruin it.
She quickly grabbed her bag and made her way past Cissie who was looking at her with a slightly confused expression, but she'd been doing that a lot lately so Duo didn't pay it any mind. It was times like these that Duo particularly missed her wings. It wasn't a long way to fly there but it was a tedious length to walk. But thanks to Marxy's kindness she had another way. As soon as she was out of view of the school she cupped her hands around her mouth. "Electro!" And in less than a minute, the speedster's cycle zoomed in front of Duo. "You called, babe?" Duo mounted the cycle with a playful scowl. "I told you about calling me that." "You sooo love it. I take it you're going to Eloise and Bernard's?" The cycle asked inquisitively. "Yup."
With that, Electro began to rev. "This is the Electro express. Please keep your arms and legs inside the cycle at all times and while kissing isn't required it is greatly appreciated." Duo let out a laugh. "Keep that up and I'll tell Kirbee on you." Electro seemed to pause for a bit. "You wouldn't dare!" Soon the world became a series of quickly moving blurs that due to Super and Electro, Duo had gotten quite accustomed to. Before she knew it, Electro stopped within a block of the house. "Let me know if you need a ride back." Duo gave Electro an affectionate pet. "Sure thing. Though Marxy should be here later so I might not need you." "*gasp* I feel so used! That's cool, I see how it is." The cycle feigned being insulted to Duo's amusement as it soon vanished.
Eloise was waiting outside for Duo as she walked up the driveway. "Oh thank goodness, Duo! I'm so glad you could make it on such short notice. We'll gladly pay you extra, Bernard was supposed to call you 2 days ago." Eloise quickly said with an exasperated look on her face. "Sorry dear, sorry. It totally slipped my mind." Duo tried her best not to laugh, this was a usual occurance at this house. "It's no problem, really." "Kelsey's already been fed, and there's plenty of food in the fridge you're welcome to. Come on Bernard, we're going to be late!" "I'm coming dear, I'm coming." Soon Bernard made his to the door and giving Duo a quick hello the two were already pulling out of the driveway. Duo laughed slightly as she shook her head at the two and the smile stayed on her face as she walked inside and saw Kelsey on the couch. "Hi there, Kelse!"
Kelsey's eyes shot wide open as he saw Duo and began to frantically put up his arms for her to pick him up. Appeasing the baby's wishes Duo found it hard to believe that originally she hated the little guy, and in just a day it brightened her day just to see him. Almost immediately he began to cling to one of her fingers, most likely still looking for her energy claws to come out. "Hm, Kelse I'm beginning to wonder if it's me you like or my powers." "Nah, the powers are just a perk." Supersonic said seemingly appearing out of nowhere which startled Duo so much she dropped Kelsey. But thanks to Super's speed, he quickly caught the baby. "Marxy!" Was all she could really get out due to both her surprise of Super's appearance and the relief that he caught the baby as well as a little bit of anger for making her drop him in the first place. "You should be more careful with the little guy." Meanwhile Kelsey was obviously surprised by the sudden appearance of the speedster and looked like he was about to cry until Marx began to bounce him up and down. "Hey there little man. So you're the one I've heard so much of." Super turned his attention to Duo when he realized she was still trying to catch her breath. "Breathe Duo, breeeeeeathe."
"Marxy, you scared the living hell out of me!" "Awww sorry Duo, I didn't mean to." Duo took one last deep breath before she returned back to normal and noticed just how quickly Kelsey had taken up with Marx, but then again Marx is a big kid to begin with so maybe that's not so surprising. "I didn't know you were coming so soon." "...Oh, should I come back later?" Super asked as he handed Kelsey back to Duo. "No no, you're already here so as long as you help with the babysitting you can stay." Duo said with a sly smirk as she looked back up to Super as she sat down. "Notta problem, Duo. Kids love me." Super morphed his hand into a rattle which amazed Kelsey enough that he began to crawl over to the speedster. As he grabbed ahold of the rattle, it morphed back into Super's hand which caused Kelsey to giggle loudly. Then it seemed that he noticed Marx's eyes for the first time and proceeded to poke him right in there. "Kelsey!" Duo voiced with worry as Super jerked back. Though she was half concerned for both of them as she quickly grabbed Kelsey and quickly glanced from Kelsey's finger which seemed to be fine and Super who was actually laughing.
"Hey man, just because there's nothing really in there doesn't mean you can just poke me. It's weird." Duo was obviously confused after she discerned that they were both okay, and then it registered what Marx had just said. "There's nothing in there!? I thought it was like an eye, it was just red and flamey." Super laughed a little at Duo's expression as he shook his head. "Nope, it's pretty much just energy. It's intangible, no clue how I can see out of it, but hey, I don't ask questions." Duo looked down at Kelsey who seemed like he was having the time of his life being passed back and forth between the two of them. "You're very lucky little guy." Then she turned her head to look at Super who had his attention on Kelsey as well. "You know, now that I think about it. You know almost everything about me, but I don't know nearly as much about you." Marx looked up to Duo curiously. "Really? Didn't you see my life when you took my soul?" Duo's eyes went wide as she blushed a little. She still couldn't understand how Super could talk so bluntly about that, she'd tried to kill him and he made it seem like it was no big deal.
"Well, I only saw general things. I don't really know the specifics. Like what you were like before you got your powers..." Duo suddenly got a weird expression like she just realized something. "Or how you got them for that matter." Super paused slightly before he suddenly burst into laughter. He couldn't believe he'd known Duo so long and it never came up exactly how he got his powers. "Oh. Well, we have time right? And I doubt this little guy will tell on us." He said literally making a baby face to Kelsey who squealed in amusement.
Marx - March 28, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
The air echoed with the rings of an alarm clock before it quickly stopped with a bit of shuffling. There was a slight pause before an annoyed groan was heard. "Oooooh late again!" Marx quickly shot up and ran to the bathroom to get ready. "I swear I'm going to get a new clock." He mumbled, pretending that it was the clock's fault and not his got him through the day. Because of his horrible sleeping habbits he'd missed quite a few days from school, so many in fact that he couldn't afford to miss anymore even if he lost an arm. Marx's vision was a bit blurry until he walked to the side of his bed and put on his glasses. Then he-
"Wait a minute." Duo said, interrupting the story, which caused Kelsey to look up at her. "You wore glasses? As in not shades?" Super smirked a little and if you looked hard enough you might have seen him blush slightly. "Well...I used to be really nearsighted. I hated those things. I wanted to get contacts but my mom couldn't justify buying multiple disposable contacts when she'd only have to get one pair of glasses." Duo looked curiously at Super as he went on with the story.
Then he quickly got dressed and made his way down the stairs. Part of him knew this was pointless but it was pretty much his daily routine. No matter how many times he missed the bus, he always at least tried to make it. Marx lived behind a hotel and if he cut through it, there was a shortcut to the bus stop, though it never seemed to help, sure enough he went dashing to it, climbing over the hotel's gate. Taking off he ran full speed to where the bus stop was only to see there were no kids there. He let out a loud sigh as a cab pulled up to him with a smile. Without saying a word Marx got into the cab and said, "To the school." The cab driver smiled and said good morning before driving. As I said, this was a normal occurance.
The drive wasn't too long but it was definitely too long to walk and get to in a reasonable amount of time. Marx gave the driver the usual fare as he got out of the cab. As he got out a cute blonde girl came running toward him. "Maaaaaaark!" Marx rolled his eyes as he slowed down and let the girl catch up to him. "Kara, I told you, it's Marx." To that Kara rolled her eyes in rep-
"Whose Kara?" Duo asked, her voice suddenly a little more serious which kind of snapped Marx out of it. "Huh? Oh, she's my best friend in my home dimension." He decided to leave out the fact that he had a bit of a crush on her, but accepted that she was oblivious and only saw him as a friend. He just...didn't see a reason to tell it...yeah, that's it. "Aren't you curious about the Mark thing?" Marx asked quickly changing to subject to which Duo gave a sly smile as Kelsey continued to make grabbing motions to Marx's randomly morphing hands. "I actually knew about that. When you were deaged awhile ago you told me your name was Mark but you wanted to change it to something with an 'x' like Max or something." Super looked a little shocked before letting out a laugh. "Oh sure, know random facts about me and don't tell me you know them." Duo let Kelsey go as he was getting more frantic and quickly crawled to Super's hand which was currently a butterfly. "Go on."
To that Kara rolled her eyes in reply."I don't care if you changed your name, I know you as Mark and that's what I'm going to call you."Kara said as if that was that. She then turned to Marx with a serious expression."You keep missing the bus and you'll be broke before you know it." Marx let out a sigh as the two of them continued to walk in the school towards the lockers. "Nah, I've been taking it so much lately the guy's been giving me a discount....oh....Kara, do you think you could get me a honey bun real quick before they stop serving breakfast. I have a couple more books I need to get from my locker." Kara tutted before quickly going to get the honey bun. Students weren't allowed to eat in class which meant Marx was most likely going to do so in secret. Though it was soon obvious that the honey bun had little to do with the reason Marx sent Kara away as a beefy hand grabbed Marx by the shoulder and slammed him into the lockers.
"Hey there little Marty." Marx looked up to see three guys who towered over him. Herbert, Bill and Rick. Herbert was the tall one of the three as well as the leader. Bill had short blond hair and was a bit more muscular than Herbert. And Rick had a mowhawk and multiple piercings, while he didn't say too much and he was the smallest, because of how he looked he was definitely the scariest one. While they were the school bullies they had a special place in their heart for Marx for some unknown reason. Most likely because Marx was not only an easy target but he never fought back. "My...name's not Marty...it's M-ugh!" Marx wasn't able to finish the sentence before Herbert punched him hard in the stomach knocking the air out of him. This caused him to double over coughing which was hard to hear over the sound of Bill and Rick's laughter. "I'll call you whatever the hell I want and you'll let me. And you know why? Cuz you're a geekwad that's why." Herbert said with a happy expression as he slammed Marx against the lockers again. "...how much this time?
"I don't particularly like your tone!" Bill said with an angry voice as he gave Marx a hard punch in the shoulder. "20 bucks!" "20!?" Marx said with a surprised voice. The normal charge for them to leave him alone was $5-$10. But the question just got him another hard punch in the shoulder which made him wince. "25!" "Okay! Okay..." Marx said rubbing his shoulder. He wanted to get them out of the way before Kara came back. Reaching into his wallet he pulled out $25 and gave it to them. To which they replied by giving Marx another punch in the shoulder through his hand which was hard enough to make most of his knuckles crack."As always a pleasure doing business with you, Marty."
Super paused a bit, knowing Duo would have some questions after that part. "And you just let them do this to you all the time?" Duo found it hard to believe that someone who would get themselves beaten almost to death for her sake would have been such a...well...wimp. "What can I say. I was a bit different back then. They were bigger than me, and I knew if I tried to fight back they'd just beat me up and take all my money. I just didn't see a point in standing up to them, you know? As I told you, I was a bit of a dork." "Was?" "Ha ha ha."
As the trio left, Marx rose up and tried to regain him composure, especially when he saw Kara running full speed at him with the honey bun and a bit of an angry look on her face. "You know Mark, I just saw a funny thing on my way here. The idiot trio laughing their heads off, talking about how they'd get $30 from you tomorrow. Why do you send me off when you know they're coming. You know they won't do anything to you if I'm around." "Oh yeah. I'll just have you around me all day long while I'm at school so you can fight my battles for me." Kara opened her mouth to say something but Marx put his finger up. "I know I know. 'I wouldn't have to if you actually fought your own battles instead of giving up.' right? Just...trust me okay. I have something planned for tomorrow, they won't be getting anything from me then." Kara had a weird expression after Marx said he had something planned. "You're not going to do something stupid are you?" Kara asked, looking a little worried. "Can it really be any worse that what I do now?" Marx said sounding a little depressed as he walked into the classroom.
"Awwww, poor Marxy. Though I get the feeling I'm going to like where this story's going." Duo said as she looked over to Kelsey who was chasing after what looked like a multicolored snake that would move everytime he'd make a grab for it. "Well considering how everything turned out, it couldn't have been that bad could it?" Super said with an all knowing smirk.
Marx - April 7, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
As Marx got home after school was over, he was still rubbing his shoulder which would probably bruise the next day, if not today. It wasn't the first time and he sighed, knowing it wouldn't be the last. Walking into his room, Marx threw his backpack into the corner and sat down in front of his computer. Turning it on, he opened a program labeled "Program 20". After it was open, Marx got up and flopped down on the bed as a polygon head began to show up on the monitor and appeared to wake up. "What's up my man? I take it from the sore shoulder the trio got to you again." Marx groaned as he replied to the program, "Dude, you have no idea. I'm getting so sick of this crap. And Kara's eventually going to stop believing me when I try to send her away."
"I keep tellin you man. You don't make a move on her and I will." Marx sat up which hurt somewhat due to the punches as well, which wasn't helped by the fact that he was laughing. "Oh come on, man. You're just a program, what would you do with her anyway?" "Anything I want to...aaaaaaaallll niiiiiight looooooong! Hell, all day too!"
Duo broke out laughing which attacted both Kelsey's and Super's attention. "You know 'Program 20' sounds a lot like Electro." Super laughed as well, he kinda thought Duo would figure that out. "Oh the memories. Those Program 20 days seem so long ago." The mechanical voice made itself known through the device on Super's wrist which made Kelsey make multiple grabs at it, until Marx distracted him by making a lighted carosel. "heh, You know I should really invite you over more often, even I can't keep him preoccupied with that many things. Oh! If you named Electro, Program 20 wouldn't that mean that there were 19 others?" "Oh yeah. I always felt kind of lonely since I didn't always want to be a burden on Kara so since I had the time I began to play around with making AI programs. Most of the original ones were female, but even I found that kind of weird. Then it hit me! Why don't I use the perfection that is my personality? Took me awhile to get it right but I guess the 20th time was the charm."
"I tried to get him to introduce me to some of those female programs but he wouldn't go for it and they weren't backed up on the hard drive." Marx found himself laughing again at his cycle. "I told you, you're well more advanced than any of the female ones. It'd be like dating a complete ditz." "You say that like it's a bad thing." Super shook his head still smiling. "Anywaaaay..." "How'd you get his AI into the cycle...and how'd you make the cycle for that matter?" Duo asked inquisitively. "Ah, that's a different story all together. And it'll make more sense if I finish this one first anyway."
As Marx sat up his expression got more serious. "Are we still going with the plan tomorrow?" "Without a doubt. If they're going to beat me up no matter what I do, I'm giving them a reason. You have all the hacks and voice simulators you need?" The head on the monitor nodded in reply. "Sweet." Marx said as he laid back down. "Tomorrow's going to be one hell of a day. Make sure I wake up in time okay?" Marx said as he closed his eyes. "I won't make any promises, man. You're a total pain in the ass to wake up sometimes....Sweet dreams." Though Marx was already deep in his sleep.
The next morning, Program 20 did his best to live up to his word but it still took a good 15 minutes of various tries to finally get a reaction. "Damn dude! I don't sleep that hard when you turn the friggin computer off!" "Okay Okay 20 I'm up... "You're also going to be late!" This made Marx shoot up as he looked at the time and sure enough, once again he was going to be late. He went through his usual routine of getting ready in a hurry though this time he quickly shoved a few bags that were under his bed into his backpack and ran up to his computer. "You're already in the system and all, right? And you remember the plan?" The polygon head simply glared at him. Marx and Program 20 had planned this for over a week now, even if he wasn't a program and therefore couldn't possibly 'forget', he was getting sick of Marx pestering him like he wouldn't remember. "Okay okay, you got it. Talk to you later...or sooner then later..." Marx said as both him and the program had the exact same devious smirk before Marx put on his lucky hoodie and took out the door.
"Lucky hoodie huh? And just what did this lucky hoodie look like?" Duo asked with a knowing smile. "Oh I think you've seen it once or twice." Super replied with a laugh.
As usual, Marx missed the bus and had to take the cab to school. While normally the cab ride was pretty short, for some reason today it seemed to take forever. As soon as he got out the cab, he saw Kara running at him with a worried look on her face. He already knew why, she remembered that somehow he was going to get some retaliation today and was worried about what would happen to him after said retaliation. "Don't worry Kara, it's going to be okay. If you insist you can even be with me until we get to class." Kara seemed to squint as she looked at Marx suspiciously. Actually that's exactly what she was going to say and she wasn't going to take no or 'go get a honeybun' for an answer. "...What are you up to, Mark?" "You'll see soon enough." Marx said with a smile. While the two of them did actually pass the trio, all they did was kissing noises at the two of them and when Kara wasn't looking, Herbert rubbed his pointer finger and thumb together reminding Marx they'd be looking for some more money today.
Everything seemed to go by normally enough as they got into class. The teacher took attendance and the class talked as they waited for the morning announcements. After about 5 minutes the announcements came on. "We interrupt your regularly scheduled announcement to bring you...da da-da dunnnnn! 20 Vision! Well...I guess it wouldn't actually be vision...since you can't see me and all..." The voice that interrupted the announcments sounded exactly like Marx's which caused a few of the students to look in his direction, though Kara especially had a look that just yelled, 'YOU...DID...NOT!' "This is Program 20 reporting this breaking news bulletin. We all know the idiot trio of Herbert, Bill, and Rick, but do we know what they do in their private time? No! And as I speak to you now I'm headed for the student bathroom where they congregate, let's listen shall we?"
"Yo...um...Billykins?" "Oh what's up Herby?" "I can talk to you two about anything...right?" "Oh sure man, that's what we're here for." "Okay...well...I was watching 'My Little Pony' with my sister yesterday and well...I...got a certain reaction while looking at those cute little ponies." "....it was the pink one right, I've always thought that pony was hot." "Same here, 'My Little Pony' is like...the Baywatch of cartoons." "Yeah! There should be more slow motion shots!" "There should! Ohh when I see those tails!" "And the manes oooooh baby!" "Oh I could pet them all night long!" At this point the three bullies continued to talk about their love for 'My Little Pony' but it was hard to hear over the roar of laughter coming from the students. Even Kara who was glaring at Marx looked odd because she was trying so hard not to laugh. "...very interesting. Bullies by day...My Little Pony lovers by night. I'll bring more on this shocking development later...this is Program 20, signing off."
It was difficult for the teacher to scold Marx. One because she was laughing just as hard as the students and two, there was no actual proof that Marx had done anything. The voices of the trio were simulated so Marx's could have been as well. And though the principal didn't find it nearly as funny, no one was able to trace where the hacking had come from. Marx's ear felt like it was going to fall off after all the lecturing Kara gave him about how stupid the prank was and how humiliating the three would cause more harm than good. But she was the only one lecturing, while the students didn't know wheter Marx was behind it or not, they congratulated him all the same. And they must have found some people who actually watched "My Little Pony" because it seemed that every single person in the school knew the theme song and sang it whenever they saw any of the three bullies.
All of these things combined made this possibly the best day Marx had ever had at school since he met the three bullies. But of course nothing good lasts forever, as Marx was slammed hard into the lockers. He'd gone to use the bathroom during class so the halls were basically deserted except apparently for Herbert, Bill and Rick who didn't seem anywhere remotely as amused by the whole situation. "Hey there funny guy. You probably thought that was pretty *%$#ing hilarous didn't you?" Marx didn't really say anything in reply but his smirk replied for him. Though this got him a hard punch in the jaw which sent him sprawling on the floor. "Well well, you know what I'd find funny? Beating you within an inch of your life. Sound good, guys?" The others began to crack their knuckles as they slowly moved towards their prey. Pain seemed to radiate through Marx's jaw as he looked at his watch. A subtle smile faded as quickly as it appeared as he looked up to the trio. "Wait! Wait! Look, I didn't do that! I'll pay you whatever you want, just don't hit me again!" Marx reached into his pocket, but was grabbed by his neck and slammed into the wall, causing the back of his head to roughly bounce against it. He didn't think that would work, if they were going to beat him up, they'd take all his money anyway. But he just wanted to stall just a little more.
Taking his hand out of his pocket, Marx showed that it was full of marbles. With a swift kick to Herbert's groin, Marx took off and threw the marbles, making it nearly impossible for them to chase him without falling over multiple times. This gave Marx exactly enough time as the bell rang and soon the hallways began to be filled with kids all singing that dreaded theme song as they saw the three on the floor.
"Wooooo! Go Marxy!" Duo yelled which cause both Super and Kelsey to laugh. "That's more like the prankster we all know and love."
If Marx hadn't stopped to look at them, this story might have ended a little differently. But when they saw that he'd stopped running, the bullies took off after him. Marx had run to try and catch the bus many times but he didn't think he'd ever run so fast in his life. The students were making it hard for the bullies to follow but it was equally hard for Marx to run in the first place. He wasn't really paying attention to where he was going but soon felt a sigh of relief as he saw the exit doors. Of course once again this was a double edged sword. He had more room to run, but as he saw the bullies burst out the door, they had more room to chase. Marx had no idea where he was going, he might have had a pretty good head start but the fear didn't let him know that he wasn't being chased anymore. By the time he realized this, he wasn't quite sure where he was anymore. He walked slowly trying to catch his breath until he heard some voices.
Taking a slight jog towards them, he immediately wished that he hadn't when he saw that one of the guys in an expesive looking suit was pointing a gun at another who looked like he was wearing a lab coat. They were surrounded by many barrels that had radioactive symbols on them. If he'd thought about it a little longer, Marx might have realized that since the barrels had radioactive symbols on them they might not be the most stable things to hide behind, but he really didn't have much time to think at the moment. He was so scared that he only overheard bits and pieces of the conversation between the two. It was something about stealing the chemicals and how they were too dangerous to be left in their hands. He also thought he heard something about a web. But what really snapped Marx out of it was when he heard the gunshot and the body hitting the floor. Immediately Marx got up and tried to quietly run away but he tripped and fell over one of the barrels drawing attention to himself. Looking up he saw the man in the suit staring right at him. "..I...suppose...saying that I saw nothing wouldn't really work, huh?" As the man cocked the gun, Marx's life began to flash before his eyes. And when he saw it he had to admit, he was going to die, and in the long run, the prank wasn't really worth it. Those were his last thoughts as he heard the gunshot and everything went black.
Marx - April 30, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
"Gah!" Super yelled as he jumped back. Duo couldn't help but to smirk as what happened. Marx had been so ravelled in the story he didn't realize that Kelsey didn't look quite well. Of course after getting rid of some of his food on Super's hoodie he looked just fine, Super on the other hand... "He...he...he barfed on my hoodie!" Super shrieked in horror as Duo was trying her best not to laugh at the irony of the situation since Kelsey had thrown up on her wings the first time she babysat him. "Guess that hoodie isn't so lucky huh? Don't worry though Marxy, they have a washing machine. You can get it cleaned in there. But don't stop the story I'm getting into it now." "Okay okay...heh, oddly enough I have no clue what happened right after I got shot, I just remember waking up the next morning. If I had to guess I'd say the gunman missed me and hit the barrel...or possibly shot through me and hit the barrel, but whatever happened the barrel exploded upwards, mostly getting my head and my arms. But I woke up the next morning thinking it was a dream, that was until I actually saw my reflection in the mirror."
"Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! What the hell!?" Marx backed up knocking down a few things. At first he thought he was imagining things but after wiping his eyes a few times he could see he wasn't. His eyes were glowing red, and it didn't strike him at first but he could see clearly. Which put him in quite the predicament, one he was glad he wouldn't need his glasses anymore while the other was wondering just what the hell happened to his eyes and why he could barely remember what happened the previous day.
But as much as he hated to admit it, he couldn't miss another day of school. Technically that should have been a reason to try to get a doctor's note or something but Marx wanted to keep that a secret until he knew exactly what was up. So he quickly grabbed some shades from his brother's room and ran down the stair, without realizing he was moving significantly faster than usual as he blazed out the door. Everything seemed slightly odd, kind of like he was in a dream, which was probably why he didn't realize when he tried to hop over the gate to cut through the hotel, he actually hopped over the entire hotel. But when Marx landed he actually saw the bus, and if he ran quickly enough he'd be able to get to the stop and actually catch the bus. If he'd known what happened to him, Marx probably would have realized the worst possible thing he could do at this point would be to run full speed.
"Whoa..." Was all Marx could really say at that point as he found himself surrounded by a cascade of blurs. Finally he tried to slow down but didn't quite have his equalibrium straight and quickly found out a very important fact. Clumsiness and superspeed reeeeeally don't mix. But after he tripped and rolled into a wall finally stopping he was able to at least try to comprehend what was going on. His look was completely dumbfounded as he saw something he knew couldn't be real... Quickly he turned to the first person he saw. "Um...excuse me but is that...the Eiffel Tower?" The person responded in French and walked away causing Marx to pout slightly. "Well that's a big fat yes!" Marx growled as he looked up at the building. So he did the only thing he could do, he took off again. While I'd like to say that he was able to find his way back after the second time, or the third time...or the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh time, to be honest by the time he found the school again he was so tired he'd lost count.
But to his amazement, he actually beat the bus there. "Mark! I called you all night and you never answered the phone. I was so worried! Are you okay? How'd you get here so fast?" Marx was taken back by the onslaught of questions his friend gave him. "Calm down Kara. I'm sorry I didn't answer the phone, I was kind of out of it last night...er...all that running really took a lot out of me." Kara gave him a skeptical glare. "Oh? What's with the shades then? You wouldn't be by any chance trying to hide a black eye or anything would you?" Marx paused slightly before erupting into laughter. "No no. Those guys never caught me. Um, my glasses were broken in the run though. These are perscriptioned." It might have been made up on the spot but it sounded convincing enough that she believed him as they made their way to class. After he was able to catch his breath from all the running he actually felt better than ever. And until class everything seemed to be going pretty well. But the teacher didn't quite buy his "perscriptioned sunglasses" story, and tried to make him take them off. When he wouldn't do it, he ended up getting kicked out of the class and sent to the Principal's office.
It seemed his prank yesterday was a double edged sword, while it had gotten him more popular with the students some of the teachers felt he did it and got away with it which made them treat him a little harsher than normal. But he wasn't able to make it to the office before getting intercepted by 1 of 3 people who had a vested interest in Marx. "Hey there Marty." Marx turned up to see Bill, it was a little odd only seeing him without the other two, but that didn't make things any better. After all, he made fun of all three of them. "Nowhere to run this time. Don't worry though, I'll save some of you for the others." Marx backed up before he realized he was in a corner. Fear swept over him as he braced for the punch and then he realized it was taking awhile for him to get hit. When he opened his eyes, it seemed like the fist was still coming at him, just in slow motion. Going along with it, Marx easily moved out of the way to Bill's confusion as he tried to punch Marx a couple more times, getting quite annoyed as Marx got more confident with each dodge while he got more frustrated. "Now this, I could get used to." Marx said with a cocky voice as he dodged another punch with a smirk.
"I could do this all day Billykins but I have someplace I need to be. Peace out." Marx said as he took off, his laughs echoing down the hall.
"Wait...what the-? You had your powers and you just dodged and ran away?" Duo interrupted with a confused look as she was bouncing Kelsey slightly in her arms as she sat on the dryer. "Well...it didn't really register in my head that I could actually fight back. But now that I think about it my powers were kind of wonky at that point, so it's probably a good thing I didn't try to hit him. But pretty much the rest of the day was pretty cool. For the first time in awhile I wasn't paranoid of running into those bozos. And it got around that they couldn't catch me, and you might not have noticed this but I kinda like getting attention." Duo gave a fake gasp. "You? Liking attention? Oh how could you have hidden that from me for so long!"
"It's the skills Duo." Super said as he stuck out his tongue. He turned as the washer finally finished with his hoodie. "So anyway, that day was pretty cool. Not all the teachers were so strict about the shades and stuff. Now the next day, that's when I got a total shock. I woke up late as usual, and went to the bathroom and was all...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Duo found herself laughing at Super's yell. "Ever the actor aren't we?" She joked but as she saw Super's face she could immediately tell he wasn't acting. "Marxy! What's wrong?" Super seemed like he couldn't even form words as he looked in total horror at his hoodie. It was soon revealed exactly what the problem was. While the black part of the hoodie was fine, all the white parts were now bright pink.
Marx - May 5, 2006 09:23 PM (GMT)
"How...how...how....?" Super voiced as he held the hoodie and then something fell out of one of the pockets. When Marx looked down to it, he saw that it was a broken red marker. Duo then looked down to Kelsey's hands and sure enough, they had red stains on them. She suddenly broke out into laughter at the irony of the situation. Super gave Duo a slight glare. "It's not that funny." "Oh but it is! You laughed at me when this little guy dyed my wings pink, it's only fair." Super suddenly looked shocked. "You were the one who did that?!" He asked pointing at Kelsey. "Heh, I see you have a bright future as a prankster before you, kid." Kelsey squealed and giggled and he shuffled slightly in Duo's arms.
Super let out a sigh as he threw the hoodie in the dryer. "You could probably have washed that out." Super laughed slightly. "Nah it's cool, I have others. And as many pranks as I pull I can't very well erase the evidence of a prank on me now can I?" Duo relaxed a little after she saw that Super wasn't really that bothered by it. "So did you really yell like that when you woke up the next day?" "Hm? Oh! Yeah I did actually, I was all...well...actually a picture's worth a thousand words." Super said as his face and arms began to morph once again only this time after they were finished, they were basically transparent. Though you could see parts of them, kinda like The Predator's invisibility. The only thing that remained the same was Super's eyes which looked like they were floating. "I looked like this."
Duo cocked her head to the side as she saw the demonstration. "...I've seen you like that before...when...er..." "When I was dead?..or dying I guess." Marx finished for her, knowing she probably didn't want to remember either time. "This is my...default, I guess you'd call it. I've just gotten so used to morphing that I doesn't even turn back when I sleep, the only time you'd probably see it is if I'm close to death." Duo seemed enraptured in the story once again so Marx continued.
"Wha? What the hell!? What's wrong with my face? And my hands, and my arms?" Marx continued to freak out as he kept glancing at his reflection and back to his arms. When he touched them they felt solid enough, though a lot smoother than they should have, the same with his head. He also couldn't feel any hair. "What the hell is happening to me?" Marx said as he looked down. Unlike his eyes, he couldn't just hide this problem behind shades. "I swear if I could go back in time I'd kick myself for missing so many days." He then quickly ran to his closet and pulled out his hoodie, it was the only thing he could think of. Looking into the dresser he also got some gloves, luckily it was winter and he'd be wearing those anyway. As he pulled the hood over his head, which he usually didn't do, he looked in the mirror and sure enough, he looked normal...except of course for the glowing red eyes. "*sigh* I look like a freakin ghetto Grim Reaper."
Marx took a deep breath as he took off down the stairs, realizing he had a little more control of his speed as he went through his daily routine of trying to catch the bus. What he didn't realize was that since he looked in the mirror, he'd been going at superspeed and could see the bus stop well before it was time for the bus. A smirk crossed his face as an idea hit him. Taking off Marx blazed down the streets until he saw the school, which only had a few students since the busses were still picking up the majority of them. "Heh, if this keeps up I'll never be late again." Marx said confidently as he ran back to the bus stop in time to catch the bus to Kara's surprise. Once again she nagged him about how worried she was that he was making the trio more mad at him. But to be honest if there was one thing he wasn't worried about, it was the trio, he was feeling stronger and faster than ever. Hell, if he wanted to he could probably take all three of them out by himself. A smirk crossed his face as he began to thing about it.
"Mark! What are you smirking at? Are you listening to me?" Marx quickly turned to his friend. He was a little curious how she knew that he was smirking when his face was completely hidden under his hood and he was wearing the shades to block his eyes. "I know youuu. I don't need to see your face to know you're not listening. As a matter of fact take off that hood, it's creeping me out." "Ooooh no! I'm keeping the hood on all day." Marx said in protest which piqued Kara's curiousity. Soon she was making countless guesses at why he was hiding his face ranging from terminal zits to wanting to make faces without anyone seeing them. Now if she'd have guessed that his head was invisible, sure he'd have told her the truth.
Needless to say the teachers weren't pleased with the hood and even tried to take it off by force, but it didn't come off. But the bad news was everytime it didn't come off he was sent out of the class. "Wow, I'm just becoming a regular delinquent now aren't I? Well, if the last few days prove anything I should be running into one of those jerks soon." "Not quite. Though I do have to say this is rather convenient Mr. Coolor." Needless to say Marx was quite shocked at the voice and turned to see a man in a lab coat, for some reason the coat looked kind of familiar. "What do you want?" "Ahem. I simply want to talk to you. It's quite obvious that the chemicals' effect on you is unique. And for that reason you're in danger." This apparently struck a nerve as Marx quickly pinned the man to the wall. "What did you do to me!?" Marx said, while his voice was harsh he wasn't yelling since he didn't want to draw attention to them. The sudden attack caught the man off guard as he had a terrified expression as he looked at the teen. "Ack! Your...anger is....understandable...but we...didn't expose you to the poison. It...was them!"
Marx's eyes went wide as he dropped the guy. While he heard what had been said, the thing that registered the most was one word. "Poison?" The man took a few deep breaths as he rubbed his neck. "Well, it's obviously not killing you... I said there was an abnormality in the solution...but nooooo nobody ever listens to me..." Marx regained his composure and turned his attention back to the man with a glare. "I'll ask you again. Who are you and what's happening to me?" Not wanting another attack, the man quickly began to answer the questions. "...well...I'm Ernie, you can call me Ern..I work for the government, specifically the chemical weapons division. We were transporting an experimental poison..er..solution that was shown to be extremely potent. But we were highjacked during it's transport and...sadly to say...from what I can surmise...you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time...or the right place depending on you see the situation. The chemical compound normally would disintegrate upon impact. Whether it was breathed in, exposed to your pores, doesn't matter, you get the compound in your system and you're dead.
But there was always something odd about it, from my tests on it. It would work 99.93% of the time which I guess was close enough but I never liked the fact that we didn't know what the control effect would be...as in what would happen if the compound didn't kill it's victim. Depending on their genetics it might have a very curious side effect...and it seems you have the anomoly in you DNA that allowed you to..not die. And from what I've been able to see, it did a lot more than not kill you." "So I basically got accidentally poisoned but it didn't kill me, it gave me these abilities. You should have just said that. So I'm not going to die?" "Well...I don't know...so far you're the only one whose been exposed in the .07%. I have no clue how it's going to affect you. That's why I'm here actually, you should be tested as soon as poss-" "Excuse me! You'll understand if I don't completely take your word for it that you're one of the 'good guys'. You're making poisons, you see how that kind of discredits you, right? And you expect me to just jump on a lab table while you scalpel me." Marx seemed to be getting more angry which was causing Ernie to back up.
"But-" "No buts! This is the deal, you're going to leave me alone and let me take care of it. It's my problem." With that Marx began to walk away. "Please Mr. Coolor wait! Whether you believe I'm a 'good guy' or not is moot! If I found you, so can they. And unlike me they won't ask you politely to come with them. Ple-..." Ernie seemed to stop in his tracks as Marx very slowly turned back to him. As a scientist he knew how to pay attention to the details and as he looked at Marx's gloves, as he got angrier it seemed like they were getting ripped, almost as if his fingers were ripping them. But they were leather gloves and looked pretty new, somehow he was tearing the leather without moving his fingers, it seemed like it'd be in his best interest to not provoke him anymore, intentional or not. By the time Marx completely turned, Ernie was gone. He gave a long sigh as he began to walk down the hall again.
"Well well, it looks like the Marty rabbit." Marx took another deep breath as he recognized the voice. It was Rick, but to be honest, mowhawk and piercings aside the last thing Marx was feeling at the moment was fear. "I'm...really not in the mood for this. Leave me alone." "Maybe you should have thought about that before your little pony joke then, nowhere to run this time." Before Marx could protest he was thrown against the lockers and punched in the gut. But there was a big difference from the last time the trio hit him. He felt the punch, but it didn't hurt in the slightest. "Ow!" Okay fine, it didn't hurt Marx in the slightest, but as Rick held his aching hand it was obvious that it hurt him. For the first time in Marx's memory Rick was the one looking scared. "I told you to leave me alone. You didn't. Now it's your funeral." All Rick saw where blurs and after all was said and done, he was quite bruised up and all the way on the other side of the room with a very pissed Marx looking like he was literally going to punch Rick's face in. "MARK!" Marx had just been following his emotions to this point. He couldn't remember ever being so angry, it was like all the fury he had bottled inside all came out at once and was taken out on Rick, his eyes felt like they were on fire, but as he heard Kara's voice he stopped midpunch. "K-Kara?"
When he looked at her she had a look on her face that spoke volumes. There were so many emotions in it he couldn't place any single one. He didn't know what to do, so he did the first thing that came to mind. He ran away.
Marx - May 17, 2006 12:19 AM (GMT)
Duo remained quiet this time as Super kept going. To be honest it was partially because of the way he'd described himself as he lost control. It was very familiar. It sounded like the darker Marxy that killed Lister and almost killed her. She began to wonder if she hadn't actually created the dark Super but just unlocked it again.
Going purely on instinct before Marx knew it he was home. So many things were going through his head it was almost overwhelming. Though one of the main things was what would have happened if Kara hadn't been there. He could have actually killed someone. As much as he'd like to say that the change was because of the chemicals the more he thought about it the more it seemed likely it was him. He wasn't used to having power and now that he did he had to deal with the temptation to abuse it and get back at everyone who'd taken advantage of him.
As he looked in the mirror, Marx noticed that his eyes hadn't just felt like they were on fire, they actually were and moreso his head was back to normal. When he'd been angry, he could have sworn that he felt the clear parts shifting around. As Marx tested it he began to get a hang of his shapeshifting powers which took his mind off of the darker parts of the day. The only thing that was slightly frustrating is that no matter how hard he tried he couldn't morph his eyes to look normal. He couldn't even morph over the energy and make it look normal, it just didn't work.
Marx continued to try to get a hang on his new power before he heard a knock at the door. He quickly put on his shades and ran to the door to find that it was Kara. "...um...hey...shouldn't you be at school?" "Shouldn't you!? Geeze Mark you had me so worried! What was going on back there!?" Kara continued to unload a bunch of questions before Marx could answer even if he tried to use his superspeed. "Okay Kara okay! Look...it's a long story, come on in." Marx then went on to explain exactly what he'd been going through the past couple of days. And needless to say Kara wasn't pleased that Marx had kept all of this from her though she had to admit it explained a lot of his odd behavior. "Well...I do agree with you not going with the doctor guy but...you have to do something. How do you know your morphing thing isn't because you're slowly breaking down like the poison's supposed to do in the first place? How do you know...you'll be alive tomorrow?"
"Well...I guess you could be right about that. But I've honestly never felt better. I'd like to think that if I was breaking down I wouldn't feel like I'm 150% all the time and that's putting it mildly. But...I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you. I just thought...you might...I dunno." As soon as Marx said that he felt a hard slap in the back of his head and looked in surprise at Kara who'd done it. "Hey! What was that for?" "I'm your friend you idiot! It doesn't matter if you mutated into Swamp Thing I'd still be your friend. You don't have to tell me everything that goes on in your life...it's your life after all but if your life's in danger you damn well better tell me or I'll put it in more danger I don't care how invulnerable you are is that understood!?" Marx looked surprised at first but his expression soon softened. "Understood." "So...exactly how fast can you go?"
Marx gave her a dark grin before he picked Kara up and took off, doing his best to go quickly but not so quickly it hurt her. When he stopped Kara needed some time to regain her feet. But after she did, she was in for a big surprise. "Watch your step. While I'm pretty sure I can catch you, I'd still prefer to not have to." When Kara looked down she saw that she was standing on the head of the Statue of Liberty. "It's not the furthest I've gone mind you but I thought it'd be a good idea to stay on the east coast this time. Paris is fun and all but you might have freaked out if you'd have been on top of the Eiffel Tower." As Marx babbled, Kara looked around in awe. "I knew you said that you could go fast but...supersonic jets don't move like that..." Marx turned to Kara with an odd look. "Supersonic jet? Odd phrasing there." Kara then flashed him a look. "Well if you'd been in class longer than 5 minutes you would have heard the lesson we had on them today."
Marx - June 3, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
"Heh, she seems pretty cool." Duo pointed out, with a slight smile. "Yeah, I think you two'd get along pretty well. Kinda like the older sister I never had." Marx could have been wrong but it seemed like Duo relaxed slightly after he referred to Kara as an older sister. He was quickly distracted by Kelsey's yawn. "Hey there little guy. Is my story boring you?" Kelsey giggled slightly with his eyes half open as if he was sleepy but trying to stay awake. "Aw, I guess Kelse is all tuckered out from all the playing you two've been doing. I guess we should take him to the crib" Almost as if he knew what was being implied Kelsey began to pout. "Don't worry Kelse. I'll keep it up until you go to sleep okay?" Marx picked up Kelsey and morphing his hands into a miniature horse let Kelsey "ride" his way up the stairs.
Marx woke up ,oddly enough, on time as he was worried about what he'd see when he went to the mirror. Making his way there slowly he looked into the mirror for the biggest surprise yet. He looked exactly the same from the previous day. Glowing eyes, see-through head and all. He was quickly able to remedy the see-through thing as he morphed everything normal again. He looked to see if there was anything new but it seemed at least for the time being that his condition had stabilized. Marx quickly got ready and made his way down the stairs and as he made his way outside, purposely jumped over the hotel and slowly made his way to the bus stop knowing he was actually early this time. It felt kind of awkward as he waited for the bus until Kara came to the stop with a worried expression. "Are you...alright?" Kara asked doing her best to be subtle since Marx did have his hood up. But as Marx pulled it down with a smile it put her more at ease. "Yup yup, never better."
That seemed to be the mood of most of the school day. Once again one or two teachers gave him issues because of the shades but no one kicked him out of the class. And when he did run into one of the trio, or should I say, the duo they seemed a bit wary around him leading him to believe that Rick told them exactly what happened. But it seemed that he was too embarrased to say it to anyone else because he didn't get in trouble for it. Marx was actually surprised that after the past couple of days that this one was going so well. No random people in coats or anything either. Though of course, nothing ever goes that easy. In his last class Marx couldn't help but to notice that Kara wasn't there. At first he was worried but the more he thought about it, it probably wasn't a big deal.
But he was proven wrong as he went to his locker to see a note sticking out of it. "If you want to see her alive again, come alone to the back of the school." Marx read outloud. The note had a small web in the lower right corner. Suddenly what the doctor said to him the previous day rang back in his head. 'And unlike me they won't ask you politely to come with them.' Once again Marx could feel his eyes on fire and was at the back of the school so fast you'd have been hard pressed to time it. In the back of the school there was a large forest which worried Marx a bit as whoever had taken Kara had plenty of room to hide. But it didn't seem like they were as Marx saw 5 armored men, the one in the middle holding Kara who was tied and gagged. "Okay...I'll say this once. Let her go, now." Marx growled as he clinched his fist hard enough to peirce his skin if he still technically had any on his hand.
"Maybe you don't see the way things work. You don't make the demands. We do. Now you're going to come with us and we might not see a need to kill your little friend." Marx narrowed his eyes and after what seemed like a breeze, Kara was next to him and the armored men were looking baffled, though to be honest so was Kara. "You were saying?" When Marx unclenched his fists his hands were morphed into claws, using one of which to cut off Kara's gag. He began to dash forward until he heard Kara's yell. "Mark please! Let's just go!" Marx stopped and was about to do just that until he heard the rustling from the trees. And suddenly at least 15 more armored men, came out with a variety of different weapons. "Um...Kara...I get the feeling leaving isn't going to be an option..."
Marx - July 1, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
"Who the heck are you guys anyway?" Marx asked, pretty annoyed since in case he was going to die at least he could know who it was. "We are agents of the Black Web." They looked alarmed (at least you could assume they looked alarmed, the armor covered their faces) when Marx and Kara started snickering. "Dude, that sounds like something someone randomly thought of while looking at a Spiderman poster." The lead Black Web guy glared at the teens. "Oh? And who exactly are you supposed to be?" "...Um...I'm" Marx started before looking at Kara. "Supersonic." "Won't Sega sue the hoodie off you for that?" "Nah, it's one word instead of two." Super answered with a cockly look. "Enough of this nonsense! We need him alive but the girl's expendable!" The lead Black Web guy ordered.
"Um...Kara? I know you had that whole thing about me not fighting and all but considering you're the one that's expendable and all..." Marx started to which Kara gave him a quick nod. "Just...make it quick and don't...really hurt anyone." Marx could tell exactly what Kara meant by 'really hurt' and dashed towards the guys that were obviously armed to fight him. Considering how fast he was moving they were still giving him a pretty hard time as he went for a slash one of the armored men only to have another one shoot him with one of they're high tech guns which had enough power behind it that it flung him into the air. Upon landing he quickly touched his chest looking for the marks but there weren't any. "This superhero thing rocks!" Supersonic shouted as he knocked out that one.
One of the men hadn't learned from the leader's mistake and went for a shot on Kara and was once again was stopped this time by Marx slicing the gun in half. The armored man pulled another one from behind his back and shot Marx point blank with an electric shock repeatedly causing Marx to fall to his knees. There was a slight moment of silence as Kara looked in horror only to see Marx stand up again once again seemingly unhurt. "Please sir, may I have another?" The man complied with Super's request not realizing that Marx wasn't just shrugging off the blasts and eventually they'd hurt him, he was actually absorbing the electricity so all the other guy was doing was making him stronger, and soon realizing yet another new ability as he looked at the electricity sparking in his hand. "You know...the whole saying what goes up must come down? I'm getting a feeling that in this case, what goes in..." Marx threw out his arm and sent a concentrated electric blast to the amored man which caused him to scream in pain before collapsing. "Wow...and here I was thinking you'd guys would be smart enough to have armor that could withstand your own weapons."
Super had a mischevious smirk as he began running towards one of the armored men who fired a weapon that unleashed a net which Marx was able to easily slash through but wasn't able to get to him before a piercing sound made him hit the ground. Through the intense noise he could hear Kara screaming as well. "No ears, no ears no ears no ears..." Marx began to chant and soon enough he morphed away, not only his ears, but his eardrums, and any audio connections to his brain. Standing up he saw that the lead guy was the one who fired it. While he could no longer hear it he could tell that Kara was still in agony and quickly darted up to him knocking the weapon out of his hand and catching it. Turning it off he quickly ran to Kara while morphing his ears back. "You okay?" "Y-yeah...I think...I think I need to lay down...think you could wrap this up?" Super took a look at the weapon and had a devious smirk as he began morphing his hand into every aspect of the weapon learning how it worked. It was quite the rush as he knew he'd be able to remember it all.
Dropping the weapon he morphed one hand into a type of earplug for Kara and his other hand began morphing into a gun that looked very similar to the sonic disruptor that he'd dropped. Immediatly the lead guy started laughing. "Not too bright I see, I couldn't have fired the damn thing if the suits didn't protect us from it." Super continued to smirk as he once again morphed away his ears and fired the gun which he'd actually modified with something much much worse than just the sonic sound. "Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! It's... IT'S! IT'S! A HANSON SONG! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! THE MMBOP WILL KILL US ALL! THIS ISN'T OVER! WE'LL CATCH YOU EVENTUALLY!" The men yelled in fear as he ran back into the woods. After they'd gone, Super morphed both his hands back to normal and looked down to Kara who was standing up. "You okay?" "My hero." Kara said with a smirk before both of them jumped at the sound behind them. "THAT WAS F&*#$ING AWESOME!" They looked back to see a good bit of the students and even some teachers who were running up to them from the school who'd apparently seen the whole thing. Super turned back to Kara who had an amused look on her face. "So much for a secret identity..."
Marx - July 6, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
Duo broke into a fit of laughter but was trying to be quiet about it as not to wake up Kelsey who's just drifted to sleep. "So you blew your secret identity in your first superhero fight?" "Well I got the feeling it'd have been blown regardless since the Black Web knew who I was and so did the scientists. That and I wasn't exactly subtle when showing my powers to Rick." Super said matter of factly as they made their way out of the room and back downstairs. Duo had been pretty absorbed in the story, it was funny how well you could know someone and yet there are still plenty of aspects of their life that you know nothing about.
Now would have been a great time to watch the movie Super'd brought since Kelsey had fallen asleep much earlier than normal, but she was more interested in finding out more about him. "What happened to the bullies and the Black Web and all of them?" Super put his feet on the table and reclined on the couch, getting himself comfortable as he spoke. "Well needless the say, the trio wasn't a problem in the slightest since they knew I could easily beat the snot out of them. I mostly spent my time stopping them from picking on other kids to pick up my slack. While I had a couple of run-ins with the Black Web, eventually I took down the head guy and their operations were split up. Eventually I let the scientists study me, mostly because Kara was worried that in the long term I'd end up dead."
"Basically what they told me was that the poison had worked on me to a limited degree. The difference is that I control how much it affects me. As a matter of fact my morphing is basically me activating the poison to disintegrate my morphing parts and rebuild them again as I see fit. The rest of my powers came from the radiation left from absorbing the chemicals. As a matter of fact if the radiation was diluted enough it could activate some of my powers in people without my genes." Duo got a dark smirk as she edged to Super. "So if I hang around you enough I'll get some of your powers?" When Marx realized what she was doing he started laughing. "No no, I don't give off enough to do that. You'd have to like...cling to me 24/7 for decades and decades before you'd show any difference. Though my original hoodie wasn't nearly as diluted which is why I had to stop wearing it. Luckily as you know I have plenty of the things. Though they were originally different colors, I just dyed them so they all looked like my lucky hoodie."
Duo seemed like she was thinking about something and began mumbling outloud. "What's missing?...strength...invulnerabilty...speed...morphing...electricity...flight...Flight! How did you learn you could fly." Super's eyes seemed to shoot open and through the comm/link to Electro you could hear Electro's snickering. "Whaaaaat?" "I kinda...blew myself up." Duo cocked her head to the side as she saw that Super was being kind of elusive about the topic which piqued her interest even more. "Oh there was no 'kinda', you blew yourself to kingdom come." "Oh shut up, it was your fault!" "How was it my fault you didn't know how to build me right?" Hearing the two bicker back and forth only made Duo want to know the story more, sounded like blackmail material. "Tell me! Tell me! And start from the beginning!" Super let out a sigh, he'd be tempted to lie about it, but with their connection she'd know he was lying immediatly.
"Okay, since I could move at superspeed and all, I got easily bored from time to time so I'd get little hobbies. And one was building a motorcycle that'd eventually become Electro or Program 20 at the time's body. Though I didn't know I'd do that yet, but I knew I wanted it to be a really hi tech cycle. So I took what I'd read and what I'd learned from the tech guys in the scientist's lab and tried to make one of the most awesome cycles ever. Only while I was working on it one time I connected the wrong wire and..well..." "BOOM!" "Oh shut up and let me tell the story. Anyway, the fuel tank exploded and blew me like...really high up and on my way down I saw that I was going to hit a tree. It wouldn't have hurt me but I was still new to my powers and didn't think of that so I paniced and activated my flight...right into a car..." "Which blew up! Oh it was great! I wish I could have recorded it! It was priceless!"
Duo was trying to hold her snickering trying to picture exactly how that must have looked. "So...you blew up the cycle, almost hit a tree, then flew smack dab into a car which blew up as well?" "And he fell flat on his face, it left a face print on the concrete until he filled it up later!" Duo finally broke out laughing, at both the story and Super's embarrassed expression. "It's not that funny..."
Marx - July 16, 2006 03:35 PM (GMT)
"Okay okay, I'll stop. Though how exactly did you get Electro's personality into the cycle after it was finished, and getting him to other dimensions and all?" Super's expression turned back to normal as he thought about it. "Actually that wasn't really me, in either since. I finished making the cycle which had a computer system in it, and Electro hacked into it and scared the Hell out of me. Imagine riding a cycle stupidly fast and it randomly starts talking to you. But luckily I didn't crash." "Luckily? That was my goal! It'd have been the ultimate prank!" "Quiet you!" Super said as he flicked his communicator causing Duo to shake her head since this bickering was fairly common for those two.
"As for the dimension thing. That was actually another Marx. He's like a really smart scientist and all. And he found this mystical cycle and did a lot of studies and whatnot and ended up accidentally coming up with the key to travelling through dimensions without one openning up for you." "Accidentally?" Duo asked skeptically. "Yeah. He like, made the original communicator and shook my hand because I'd already helped in that dimension and all, then a copy of the communicator magically appeared on my wrist and it connected to Electro who was back in my dimension saying he'd gotten one Hell of an energy boost and then he just showed up following my signal. It was some weird mix of us being the same person and magic and technology, I'm not quite sure...but basically when anyone wants to join the Marx we shake their hand and they get a communicator and a cycle." Duo cocked her head to the side as she was slightly confused. "So...everyone in The Marx has an Electro?" "Well...of sorts. There's only one Electro. We have a werewolf who has a cycle that's kind of looks like a werewolf. The females usually have female cycles, and some people don't even have AI on their cycle, it's down to their personality. Think of it like...a Digimon in cycle form..."
Duo nodded as that did actually make sense. Sure she wouldn't mind having Electro as a cycle but for someone like Harm, it'd drive him crazy. Though she'd been wanting to ask something for awhile now and since she was finding out so much about him now seemed to be the perfect time. "Exactly how did you end up on The Marx anyway?" That wasn't the question she actually wanted to ask but it was a pretty good lead in. "Hm, that's a pretty interesting story actually. You know I was the first Marx to travel to another dimension. I'm just chillin, watching tv and all and suddenly this portal opens up. I wasn't going to go in, but the portals suck you in if you don't go in pretty quickly...and for some reason it really hurts when you're spit out of those things..."
"...what the?" Super voiced as he looked around rubbing his head as he got off the floor. Pulling up his hood he began to look around. He didn't recognize where he was but it seemed like a regular city, though his landing wasn't the most subtle in the world so the civilians were giving him a weird look. He noticed that he'd crashed into a wall and left a mark as some of the brick began to crumble away. Shaking his head to regain his orientation Super was about to try and run back home but before he could, he felt a hard blow across his cheek that sent him flying onto the pavement. It felt like he'd been hit by a train. "Geeze! What in the...world...?" As Super looked up he saw a fairly muscular man garbed in red and black. His mask covered the entirety of his head, and the only parts of his skin you could see were his arms, which showed he had a dark complexion." "I'd ask you for an explanation but I don't think I need one. To be honest I've grown quite bored with father's games. It seems I'll have to make a message of you." The man spoke with a dark voice as he lifted his hand and it caught on fire. But he didn't seem to be burned in the slightest as he sent a stream of fire in Super's direction. "Hey! Waitaminute!" Super yelled as he made no attempt to evade the fire since he was fireproof...or so he thought.
"Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Super screamed as he quickly rolled around trying to put out the flames which wouldn't go out, forcing him to throw off his hoodie. "Dude, I don't know who the hell you think you are you who you think I am but that was one of my favorite hoodies!" Super dashed at the man and went for a punch, which connected especially since it seemed like he was distracted by Super's appearance. After a few more punches Super was on top and holding up his fist for another punch. "I don't have time for this crap! Who are you and why are you attacking me!?" But it turned out that Super should have in this case hit first and asked questions later as he was hit so hard he felt dizzy. While he tried to fight back it seemed the only reason that Super'd been able to get in those hits was because the man had been distracted. When he was focused it was blatantly obvious who the better fighter was as he went all Bruce Lee/Cassandra Cain on Super, hitting him so many times that it seemed that all Super could see were fists and feet. Even when he tried to morph something he was hit before he could materialize it.
Super finally hit the ground and could barely stand up as he looked up to his attacker. "Pathetic. Father should have trained you more before sending you after me." Super'd had enough of getting beat up on, and gathering up as much electricity as he could, he unleashed one of his biggest electric blasts at the man which knocked him off his feet among other things. But Super realized that it might not have just been the force of the blast that did this as he stayed in the air in a defensive position covered in that weird fire. "Nice shot. Now try mine." As the fire began to get bigger so did Super's eyes. He doubted he'd fair nearly as well against that fire as the man had been to the electricity...
Marx - August 9, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
"That's enough, Coolor. This boy is not your enemy." Both the man in red and black who Super could only assume was Coolor, and Super himself looked over to see an old man in what looked like an odd combination of street clothes and ancient japanese attire. "But Sensei.." "This individual seems as confused about him being here as you do and from what I saw was only fighting in self defense. Who are you?" The old man asked calmly to Super despite how much Coolor obviously disagreed with the course of action. "Um...the name's Supersonic. And it's like the old guy said, man. I don't know how I got here. One minute I'm in Virginia and the next this black hole thing appears and I'm...waitaminute! Your name's Coolor? That's freaky! Coolor's my l-!"
This seemed to annoy Coolor again as he looked like he was about to attack which stopped Super midsentence but was once again stopped by the old man. "Let's further discuss this inside the dojo. We wouldn't want Supersonic's appearance alerting anyone to your true identity." The old man led the two into the dojo, as Coolor gave Super a death glare before entering. After they got inside, the old man calmly turned back to Super. "Now continue. Let's say the hole brought you here, how'd you get your abilities in the first place? And Coolor, you can depower now." "But Sensei!" Coolor started before he let out a sigh and put his hands to the side of his head. At first it seemed like he was stretching his mask forward but soon his entire outfit was looking distorted, and soon enough, the entire outfit and and even what looked like his skin all went into the same point and after a slight red flash what looked like an exact clone of Marx except dressed a little more darkly put the shades, that apparently mystically held his costume and extended size, on the lower part of his nose but not off his face.
"Whoa...dude that was awesome! I bet you could sneak into strip clubs and stuff being able to look older like that and all." Supersonic said in awe of the transformation. "Supersonic, please. Let's stay on track could we?" "Sorry sorry. Its the super speed thing. It makes me easily distracted. Um...well, basically I was running from these bullies and ended up running into a hijacking of this poison compound thing and when I was exposed to it, I was like this after a few days." "Sensei, you can't really be buying all this." "Actually...yes I am. Spore would gain nothing from cloning you if he had the ability to do so. He wants you dead, and he's scared of your potential since you became Coolor. He wouldn't risk making another one. Didn't you tell me that you lived in Virginia?"
Coolor looked like he was about to object some more, but seemed to see things from the Sensei's perspective with a sigh. "Yeah, it was the first school I got expelled from. These three guys kept trying to 'initiate' me, and after awhile I ended up beating the crap out of them." This immediately piqued Super's interest. "Were those guys Herbert, Rick and Bill by any chance?" Coolor shrugged in reply as he said that he didn't even bother to remember their names. "They were mostly jealous because I was dating this hot blonde girl at the time. Um...Kara I think her name was. Whenever they'd see us together they'd-..uh...Supersonic? You okay?" Coolor began to snap to try to get Super's attention as he looked momentarily frozen in shock. "You...dated...Kara?...Dude...I hate you...I'm a freakin superhero and she still just sees me as a friend..." Super said looking so bummed it dispelled any doubts about his sincerity.
Coolor looked confused for a bit before he patted Super on the shoulder. "Uh...for what it's worth she dumped me. Said I was too violent." Super immediately grabbed Coolor by his shirt so fast even Coolor didn't see it coming. "You were dating her and you messed it up!?" "Dude, chill. She was pretty cool and all but she wasn't all that. The more important question is why the heck were you running from those three goons. They couldn't fight worth crap." "Well, I guess I'd say that too, if I fought like Jackie Chan on crack. Who taught you to fight like that anyway? When I was younger I was actually going to take martial arts classes, but I kinda...wussed out. It looked intimidating at the time..." Coolor cocked his head to the side. "Huh...same here. It was kind of intimidating at first, but I went with it anyway." "There it is." Both Coolor and Supersonic turned to the Sensei as he spoke up. "If I had to make a guess I'd say you two are the same person from different realities or something of the sort. Supersonic gives off an odd aura that doesn't quite fit in here so I doubted from the getgo her was from here.
And I'd say you two had almost identical lives, but while Super didn't take martial arts and ended up running from the bullies and running into the hijacking and becoming Supersonic, Coolor already knew how to fight and after getting expelled for fighting began picking fights and getting expelled from more schools until he ended up here, meeting me and becoming the Coolor. "Okay. I buy that. I've seen weirder things. Just one thing though. You brought Coolor in so I wouldn't mess up his identity right? But his 'superhero' name is his last name. What kind of secret identity is that?" Super asked in confusion only to have the look returned by Coolor. "Um...my last name's Cooper. Mark Cooper." "Marx Coolor. Though my first name was originally Mark, I had it changed." Both Super and Coolor had a similar smirk as they said in unison. "The 'x' makes it sound cool" The mutual moment was soon ruined as a loud crash was heard outside. Coolor immediately looked serious as he put his shades closer to his face once again donning his costume. "Now that one I know is Spore." "Um, I'll help if you want it, man. Who is Spore anyway?" "My father."
Marx - October 18, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
"His father!? Wow, how...Star Warsian. Though now that I think about it, I've never heard you talk about your father." Duo asked intently. "Well, personally I never knew him. He moved away after I was born. But apparently in Coolor's dimension he wanted to be Coolor but was rejected." "Why didn't he just steal the shades?" Super laughed after Duo asked the question. "See, I asked the same thing. Apparently only the 'chosen one' can access the powers. There was like...this room in the back of the dojo and if you went into it one of three things would happen. Either you'd die, you'd become Coolor, or you'd just be painfully rejected, in which case you'd train the next generation." "So the sensei?" "Rejected. And apparently Coolor's father should have been the next sensei but he didn't want to do it. So naturally having his deviant of a son do it..."
"Ahh I get you now. So what happened?" Duo asked impatiently. "Well...here's where the story gets interesting. Spore wasn't alone this time and you'll never guess who was with him." Duo laughed as she made a guess. "What? Coolor's brother who was brainwashed or something?" Duo's eyes went wide as she saw Super's face which was a mixture of surprised and disappointed. "No! You're kidding!" "Well...it's not as funny as it sounds. Apparently, after Mark became Coolor, Spore 'killed' all of his family. His mother, his brother, and his 2 dogs...." "..oh.." "Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Gets worst though, he didn't actually kill them, he just turned them against Coolor, and put them in positions where Coolor either had to let innocents die or he'd have to kill them. But since I was with him this time, it was an unexpected element so we were able to stop them without killing anyone, which is always a good thing." Super said with a smile. "Ah so that's why you were sent there. Happy ending, then. But how'd you get home?" "Ah, that's another interesting part.
Back in the dojo, Super and Coolor continued to share their stories as Coolor trusted Super just a little bit more after the classic fight and team up. "Not to say this isn't fun and everything, Marx. But out of curiosity how are you getting back home? Super looked like he was about to say something and then looked like he was kind of bummed. "Um...I...don't know..." No sooner had he said that, than another portal opened up. Super was about to immediately go through it until he thought about it. What if this portal didn't lead him home? What if he couldn't go back? If he would just end up going through countless realities. Sure that'd be cool and all at first but... "Looks like you'll just have to take the chance man." Coolor said totally knowing what Super was thinking. Super let out a sigh as he bit the bullet and jumped into the portal unsure of where he'd end up.
Unlike before he didn't hit anything solid this time. In fact he was floating around. Looking at his surroundings it was just a blackish gray nothingness. "...Oh great...I'm in like...Purgatory or something..." "Hm. Not quite.." Super immediately turned to where he heard the big, booming voice from to see a giant floating head. "GAH! IT'S THE GHOST OF ZORDON!" Super yelled half jokingly as a way of hiding his slowly growing fear, though the head didn't seem too amused. "...okay...why am I here?" The head nodded in reply with a slight smile. "That shall be explained after all parties are present. I'm sure both of you will have questions and I'd prefer to explain it once." "Well...who else is gonna be-?" Super started when suddenly his question was answered as Coolor was shot out of another portal looking none too happy. "WHAT THE #$%^!" Coolor yelled out in frustration as he was currently floating upside down. "Beats me, ask the giant, floating head." Super said as he pointed to the head.
Marx - February 4, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
"Oh great, it's the ghost of Zordon..." Coolor muttered as he turned himself right-side up. "Ha! I said the same thing!" Super said with a laugh. "You didn't." Coolor said with an unbelieving tone. "Yes. He did." The head said drawing both the teens' attention back to him. While it did look quite annoyed, there wasn't anything that looked overly hostile. If anything it was acting like they were bugging him even though he was the one who summoned them. "Okay, so who are you and why did you bring us here?" Coolor asked bluntly, letting it be known that just because the head wasn't overly hostile that didn't have to necessarily apply to him. The head gave a polite nod before it began to talk.
"To answer your questions, I am the Portal Master. Or one of them I should say. I'll try to keep my explanation as simple as possible. There were three reasons you were chosen. One, Supersonic's appearance in your world was able to stop an anomaly from happening that would have had vast repercussions if gone unchecked. Two, experiencing that there is more than one reality first hand makes my job of informing you much easier." "And just what are you 'informing' us of exactly?" Super asked while Coolor chose to remain silent and observe. "I was getting to that. You should be more patient like your friend. Even if he's only being silent because he's most likely looking for my weaknesses, but I digress. As you two have no doubt surmised, there's more than just your own individual reality. But there isn't just your two either. There's an infinite number of realities all different in their own way. I also picked you two because you both have a unique sense of reality and most likely won't reject what I'm telling you. But if you do, I can always bounce you through a couple until you believe me. I take it I won't have to?" The Portal Master paused as he waited for an answer.
"Uh...no I think we're good." Super said to which Coolor nodded. "Infinite realities. And considering you call yourself a Portal Master I'm assuming you control them?" Coolor asked as he finally spoke up. "Not quite. I don't control the realities, I merely watch over them. And I do believe I said I was one of the Portal Masters. Infinite number of realities would also include an infinite number of Portal Masters to regulate them." "Wait...so even you don't know how many Portal Masters there are?" Super asked to which the Portal Master gave a nod. "There is a set number of portals as well as Portal Masters. But the number is so big that in your terms it wouldn't actually mean anything. Infinite is the easiest way to express it. For instance I personally look over an infinite number of realities and that's just a small group compared to the rest. The two teens nodded once again before Coolor spoke up. "Okay, I think we have enough background information. Infinite realities, you control them. You helped to save mine. How about answering the why we're here question?" Coolor asked, seemingly beginning to lose his patience.
"That would be the third reason I mentioned previously for you being here. There is an unknown anomaly that's going through many of the dimensions making changes that shouldn't be happening. While I can regulate the dimensions I can't physically interfere. I need beings who can change things back to the way they should be, all the better if you're able to change things for the better along the way. Needless to say you two can't do it all on your own, you'd need some help. The reason I chose you specific two is because in my section of realities, Mark or Marx, whichever name you choose to take, tend to be the consistently more powerful beings of your respective dimensions." "Let me just cut to the chase. You want us to stop this...anomaly that's going through the realities, and along the way, recruit more versions of myself." Coolor interrupted before the Portal Master nodded. "More or less."
"Infinite realities would mean infinite Marks as well wouldn't it? Who'd be the leader? I take it only you with your omnipotence would be up to the task." Coolor stated, his comment dripping with sarcasm. Though oddly enough the Portal Master seemed to find this quite amusing from his smile. "Funny you should mention that. Since I chose you to be the leader. I have enough responsibilites sending you where you need to go without watching over what you...Marks do. I'd only be consulted if it were a dire emergency." While Coolor seemed quite satisfied with this answer, needless to say, Supersonic wasn't quite so eager. "Wait a second! Why does he get to be the leader? You chose me first didn't you?" "Well he needed the help Marx, you didn't." "My point exactly!" "Hey wait a second! As much as I appreciated your help, I didn't need it! "I hate to break it to you two, but Coolor, you did need Supersonic's help. And Supersonic, to be blunt, Coolor will make a better leader than you will. These are the facts. And this is another fact. There are other versions of yourselves way more powerful than you are, and some more powerful than you will ever be, so I suggest you put your respective egos away and it will make things a lot easier on you. You know who I am, and you know why you're here. Will you do it or won't you?"
The two Marx let out a long sigh, but Super was the one who spoke up first. "...what happens if we say no? You'll just pick two more Marxes?" "Yes. I will. But I chose you two first for a reason. You're the best ones to start out with. And make no mistake, if this anomaly goes unchecked it will eventually destroy your realities, and every being within." "Well...can't really say no to that now can we?" "Sure we can, I mean come on, how bad can death be really? And the guilt of knowing we're responsible for the deaths of countless realities would fade eventually." Super replied with a smirk which Coolor returned before they turned back to the Portal Master. "We're in." "Good. You'll be contacted soon." With that two portals opened up behind Super and Coolor and when the looked back to where the Portal Master was he was gone. "Um...so...what are we gonna call ourselves?" "Hm...guess it should be something simple...like...The Marks. Sweet and to the point." "Nice! But is that with a 'ks' or an 'x'?" "Well...I guess the 'x' would make it look cooler wouldn't it? But it'd just look like your name." "You can't argue with coolness! Peace out other me!" Super yelled as he went into his portal which immediately closed behind him. "Hey! Wait a minute! I never agreed to...aw the Hell with it.."
(OOC: MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA! I'm a posting machine!)
Marx - April 17, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
Duo let out a loud laugh which she immediately muffled again, realizing she didn't want to wake up Kelsey. "So that would make two teams you've named off the top of your head." Duo said with a smile, which was returned. "It's true. What can I say, I'm good like that." There was another slight laugh between the two, though this time they made sure to keep it quiet. "We're so not watching the movie are we?" Marx asked once again laughing a little as Duo seemed to look away, thinking. "You're right...no point in really watching it this late. I had a great time hearing more about you though." Duo stated flashing a smile.
"Same here, it's not like I enjoy hearing my own voice or anything." Marx said chuckling slightly. "Anything else you want to know?" The speedster asked, provoking Duo to once again go deep in thought. But she seemed to be thinking so hard about what to ask, Marx couldn't help but notice that she appeared to have dropped her guard. This being a rarity for the fallen angel, the prankster couldn't very well let this opportunity go unchecked. Crouching like a tiger, Marx began to edge closer and sure enough Duo hadn't realized it yet. Soon he was right in front of her, and the situation was opportune for him to morph his head into the most terrifying thing he could think of at that moment...this case being a mixture between Marilyn Manson and a werewolf. He'd have to make good use of his speed once Duo noticed him.
Surely enough her eyes went wide and she began to let out a yell which Marx quickly muffled as he morphed back to normal. Though unexpectedly, the momentum was off causing the two to topple off the couch. "Marx! That was so mean!" Duo whispered harshly as Marx was doing his best to muffle his laughter. "What can I say? I'm also bad like that." He said as Duo gave him a smirking glare which also caused one of their classic, awkard silence moments as their faces were mere inches from each other. The awkwardness was interrupted by a sudden knock on the door.
Marx - May 24, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
"Oh $#!+!" Duo cursed as she saw the door opening and gave Marx a look that was easily translated as 'You're not even supposed to be here! And this looks really bad!'. Marx gave a quick nod as he used his super speed once more, standing Duo up and taking off up the stairs to exit out the window. The only sign he was even there was Duo's slightly frizzy braid and her intense blushing from the fact that Marx had given her a quick peck on the cheek. Shaking it off and straightening out her clothes, Duo went to the door as Bernard and Eloise entered. "Did you have a good time?" Duo asked as a loud sonic boom was heard overhead and Duo fought the urge to slap herself in the head. "Thank you Duo, we had a great ti-... Good Lord! What was that?" "It sounded like a jet, didn't see anything though..."
As Super got back to Elias he sat in the main room of the dorm, where Cissie was watching tv. "So...how was the movie?" Cissie asked with a knowing expression and a "naughty" smirk. The smirk was returned as Marx answered. "We actually didn't get a chance to watch it." "I knew it!" Cissie shouted excitedly which made Marx jump slightly. "Come on! Dish the dirt!" Cissie yelled again turning to Marx, forgetting completely about the tv. "Well it's too much to really tell all again. I mean, we were talking for hours." Cissie's excited expression slowly melted away. "You were...talking?" "Yeah, what did you think we were doing?" Marx asked, genuinely curious as Cissie let out and audible sigh.
"You two are hopeless...completely hopeless..." Before Marx could ask exactly why they were so hopeless, Duo walked in. "How'd it work out? They didn't know I was there did they? I was trying to leave slowly but I think I accidentally broke the sound barrier." Duo let out a loud laugh as she closed the door. "Ya think? It sounded like a freakin air fleet over the house. But they just thought it was a jet. I just had to try and fake like I watched the movie." Duo said shaking the DVD in her hand. "The movie!" Marx sighed, slapping himself in the head. "It's okay, they didn't suspect anything. And it didn't wake up Kelsey." Duo said as she took a long stretch. "Tired?" "Yeah, I'm about to go to bed. You coming...MarkyMarx?" Duo said with a smirk using part of Marx's original name as she turned around and went to the room. "On my way. Night Cissie." Marx said to Cissie as she followed Duo, slightly cocking his head to the side as he made a point of staying behind Duo.
"Night Marx. Night Duo.... I just don't get it. They obviously have a thing for each other. They sleep in the same bed just about every night...and yet nothing happens...What am I missing!?"
THE END
