Personaltiy: Some would say he's over confident in his skills, and in truth he does posses great confidence in them but is also able to tell easily when he is outmatched in a fight. He's very serious about martial arts and will defend them and their finer qualities, he isnt however the type to hold his strength or skill over the head of another, and he's capable of thinking through a situation. He strictly follows his personal code of honor, which seems to have its base in Budo/Bushido. Usually a very likable person in and out of costume (unless he's 'in character' or you happen to be a gang member) he has a fair amount of freinds but only a few close freinds. Generally relaxed in most situations.

Although a freindly person by nature he does have moments of being withdrawn and wanting to be on his own. He often feels better alone then in a group, or at the very least being in a small group. He's generally not the type to take a leadership role unless he feels its absolutely called for, he perfers to simply hang back and observe the going's on.

When in costume he tends to be rather silent and formal exept with those he has already considered freinds, of if he is simply being 'in character'.

The reason he put on the costume affected his personality as well. His sister had been raped by a local gang. Bringing up this subject can make Adam a bit meloncoly and withdrawn, or simply tick him off depending on how its done.

It is also possible that Shinobi may use lethal force in a fight if he feels it is completely necissary.

Gadgets: Posseses a finite supply of Kunai, Shuriken, accupuncture needles, Caltrops, Mutsubushi powder (blinding powder), One or two powerful Sedatives (if he's given time to prepare them) A Kodachi (a sort of short sword between a tanto (dagger) and Katana (samurai sword) its smaller size makes it a bit weaker but qucker an dmore manueverable), and a Kusari-Fundo (weighted Chain)

Kusanagi- Legendary sword of Japanese myth, recovered during his training mission. Alters to fit the preference of it's weilder, blade never dulls, magic based, virtually indestructable, ability to cut is limited only by Shinobi's strength, not the blades sharpness. As last resort weapon.

A 'chopper' style motorcycle. Recently obtained, he sent it too a shop using an alias, and had everything that could slow it down removed, while also paying to have it made to run as silently as possible. He and his grandfather have attached small racklike object to be used to store evidence, weapons, or whatever else he may need to hold.

New cloaks with tight woven fabric allow for parachute actions as well as gliding short distances.

He's begun padding certain areas of his costumes with Kevlar (mostly vital points such as chest and back)

History: To understand Adam's history one must first learn about his family line, and a long one it is.

Stretching back to Japans earliest history. In 660 B.C. it is said that Jimmu Tenno was charged by his grandmother Amaterasu to bring order to the islands of Nippon (Japan), and given the legendary sword Murakumo-no-Tsurugi(sword of the village of the clustering clouds, later renamed 'Kusanagi'(grasscutter). Jimmu marched up the inland sea to Yamato in Izumo. The Yamato became retainers to the Emporer, Jimmu Tenno. It is in this situation it is said that Adam's earliest known ancestor, Takama, gave himself as the Emporers vassel and personal bodyguard. From that moment his clans history was set in stone. They were to be warriors, always ready to protect the Emporer and Japan at a moments notice.

When the Han empire broke apart and envoys from China, and Korea came to the islanders of Japan who had made names for themselves as great warriors for aid, many times it was Takama or one of his family that went along with the envoy.

And time continued in that way, during great wars, the dual dynastys, and the reign of the Shoguns his clan was always in the back protecting the Emporer even as Yamato lost its importance.

Somehow during their history the clan went from the upfront warrior and became a Shinobi clan, the reasons for this change are lost but it may be assumed that one of Adam's ancestors was disgraced but did not performe Seppuku(ritual suicide). However they continued their job.

Then the west interfered in Japan. Beginning the bloody Bakumatsu revolution. It was said one of the four great hitokiri is also Adam's ancestor. In fact his sword style is at least in part related too 'Furanui-ryu' used by Kawakami Gensai, the greatest of the four. It was thought he never passed it on before his death.

The Emporer had been returned to power and his bodyguards were all around to protect him from attacks from those not happy with the change. A service needed for a child emporer.

Finally though, World War II came about. This is where his family history truely begins as Adam's grandfather Enoki, while only thirteen was sneaking about the frontlines assasinating enemies, American, Filipinio, anyone against the Emporer. When Japan was bombed Enoki came to a realization that he and his clan were no longer needed and as the Allies were beginning to rebuild Japan he left to see the world. In a world that did not exactly like the Japanese at the moment he quickly found his training constantly tested and improved greatly. Eventually as the world entered the late sixties and early seventies he returned to Japan to be married, eventually setting once more in the United States. Just as the 'Kung-fu boom' of the seventies began Enoki opened his dojo and makes a modest living from it even now.

And now, Adam came about, three years after his sister May. Adam doesnt have any clear memories of his father, who left when he was still small and doesnt care. He lived life like any other child. Exept that his grandfather was training him from a young age to fight. Adam never reached up into what Enoki wished for him, however the older man was fine with that. He wanted Adam to do what he had never been allowed. To pick his own path. Adam however did prove to be a skilled martial artist and dedicated as well bringing home a few trophies from karate tournaments.

Life was good for Adam until a while ago, when his sister was walking home from a study session with a freind she was accosted by one of the local street gangs. They didnt beat her...much...they didnt kill her, although they did rob her in addition to what they did, the main fact was they raped her.

May was traumatized, Jun saddened, Enoki was attempting to help his daughter and grand daughter. Adam...Adam was furious. In a world of heroes how did this happen to his sister? Obviously there just werent enough. His training was kicked into overdrive with Enoki overseeing it and intensifying as well. His grandfather had tried to persuade Adam against it, but when he saw how stubborn he was going to be simply agreed to help train him. Adam quicky progressed and the two were designing his costume and weapons, Adam went back to his heritage for insperation and consturcted a ninja gi, full of hidden pockets and such to hide weapons and other things. He soon realized though that he would need to hide these things and along with Enoki began working on a hidden room in the basement of Enoki's home/Dojo, hiding a top of the line computer, a cot, various books on anatamy and other relavent things, his gi, a few spares, additional weapons, and the makings of his other things.

Adam was ready to begin his quest for revenge donning his costume and dissapearing into the night. What was assumed to be a joke, a ninja stalking the night, turned out real for the gangs of the city as they were being beaten and left on the doorsteps of police stations. Finally he had been tagged with a name, Shinobi, since no one wanted to call him 'Ninja Man'. Adam seems to actually juggle his normal life and vigilante activities well, but then again he's only small time. Recently however he has discovered a large hiearchy of crime in New York, leading back to a man named 'Chance' a man who may or may not even exist.

Well, Adam will continue to face his foes and follow his beliefs until he's dead or simply unable to physically do it anymore. He's stubborn, and is set in his ways already.

Additional history: His recent dissapearence was caused by his leaving to increase his own training...

After a fight with Bliss didn't go as expected Shinobi left to persue greater training. He traveled to Europe studying such styles as La Savate and Sambo breifly, during his trek through China to get to Japan he encountered a legendary figure of martial arts. Sun Wukong, better known as the Monkey King.

Shinobi entered under his tutolege and with his training entered Yomi No Tsukuni (Japanese underworld) to retrieve Kusanagi from it's place there. The significance of the fact that he is capable of using the full power of a blade that was ment to by a symbol of the strength of the Imperial family us unkown...but there are certain implications...

And it seems he's finally allowing himself to fuse some modern approaches with his own ninja ways.


Base: Shinobi mostly operates out of his grandfather's dojo, however since a training are and a living space aren't the only things he needs problems might have arisen had his grandfather not discovered a hidden cellar to the building he bought.

The building itself had been constructed during the Cold War, and so a secret basement had been added and not reported. Essentially a large panic room, it was a box with Steel/Lead alloy walls, even the ceiling, which was under the floor was that alloy, to stop radiation in the event of a nuclear war.

Shinobi and Enoki have turned it into what they sometimes jokingly call 'The Shinobi Cellar'. Contained in it are:
-A top of the line computer
-A television and Radio system
-A cot
-A fairly large bookshelf, containing books on Anatomy, Psychology, and various other necessities of crime fighting
-Spare 'Shinobi' Costumes
-Exra weapons
-Scrolls containing various peices of wisdom, information, history and so forth collected by Enoki and various Ancestors of the Honshi family over the years.

More things may eventually come to be within the cellar, but so far this is it.
