Title: Bolt
Description: The Lord of Flies

Darkfire - June 24, 2006 04:47 AM (GMT)
Code Name: Bolt

Real Name: Luke "Beelzebub" Joiner

Age: 17

Appearance: Luke was once just a normal teenager with average looks and motions. Now that he has been bonded to his powers, his features have an almost surreal look. His eyes glow slightly, visible even during the day. His messy brown hair now looks like he's almost underwater, his hair moving slowly. His skin is almost too smooth to be human, seemingly having no pores or scars. He is tall, standing above most of his island home friends at 6' even. He still is gangly, weighing in at a mere 160 lbs. He has a tendency to wear the cheap, odd-looking Hawaiian shirts, namely because they're cheap and he can buy them in bulk if he needs to.

His costume is not all skin tight. There is a layer that is skin tight, but attached to it is a thick, heavy material that is fire and electrically retardant. The over-stitched material gives the garment a heavy cloth robe look to it. The pant bottoms flair out at the bottom, as do the sleeves, and they flow rather slowly, even in a quickly moving breeze. The entire outfit is a light, sky blue color, but has deep crimson red outlines on it. They are mostly stylized lines, but some cross in crucifix type patterns, namely on the shoulders, hips and knees. On the back there is a pentagram with runes outlining it. Luke will commonly tell people when they ask about it "Break in case of emergency."

Abilities: Electrokinesis. This includes the generation of very small (1 volt) to very large (20+ million volts) and having a vague perception of every electrical signal near him. One very specific use he has for this electro-sense is that he can tell when the brain sends a signal to the body to move. He can't tell what the motion is, only how big a motion, and that the person is indeed going to move.

Flight. While not capable of attaining super-sonic speeds, he is capable of getting very close (600-625 mph). However, going this quickly exhausts his energy, and he will slowly float to the ground unconscious. His flight works even when he's unconscious, making it impossible for him to fall to his death unless he falls into something (Like lava, or poisonous water). He can fly at speeds of 100 mph or less with little to no effort. He has perfect control of his flight, enabling him to get into tight corners and sit there if need be.

Demonic Healing Factor. While he is unable to regenerate lost limbs as quickly (Read several years to regenerate), these items can be reattached, so long as they haven't rotted too much. This is inclusive of his head. As his soul is bound to his body until he can figure out how to get rid of his powers, he will not pass on. He will be unable to move, but he can be revived if his head is reattached in-tact. However, the healing factor is somewhat remarkable - he is capable of receiving third-degree burns and be rid of them in minutes. Bullet holes and knife wounds take up very small amounts of time to regenerate.

Demonic Summoning. Bolt can use electricity to generate a summoning circle to summon everything from a tiny demon ladybug, to a giant man-eating demonic tarantula. The demonic summoning is limited to demonic versions of insects and arachnids. He can communicate with them by speaking normally, but only he can tell what they are saying. The larger the summon or the more of them he summons, the longer the circle takes to draw them into our world and bind them to follow orders. The demon summoning also works that he can summon one of the other six kids who were involved in the ritual by saying the name of the demon that they stole their powers from. This also works vice-versa. By saying their name again, he can banish them back to where they came from. Also works on him by his comrades.

Weaknesses: Holy symbols of any sort will burn/immobilize Bolt as his powers are demonic in nature. These burns take as much time as a normal first or second (depending on the strength of the sanctification) burn would to a normal person. If sanctified enough, only a solid wall can stop its immobilizing effects. He is, however, protected from Christian holy symbols, such as the cross, or pictures of Mary, by Gabriel, who feels like he must protect them from the consequences of his actions. The Star of David, The Crescent and Star, and the like will still work, so long as the religion does not see the god who blesses the objects as evil or malevolent.

History: Luke's history prior to the Ritual was, quite frankly, unremarkable. He was a normal high school boy who spent most of his free time with his two friends, Natalie and Kenneth. They went to a Hawaiian High school together, and biked around town like normal people would. The only thing that people may have found even irksome about the boy was his potential to do well academically, but being unmotivated to do so.

The night of the Ritual, however, his entire life changed. He woke up in a cage, his friend Natalie in the cage beneath him. A mysterious man taunted them, allowing them to talk but not touch. They waited for about an hour before another man in a trench coat carried the final cage, a cage which held his other friend Kenneth in it. They were kept awak for 72 hours straight on a slow moving ship that took them to an uninhabited island off the coast of the Main Hawaii island.

Seven Men stood in the background, seven men in demonic robes holding knives carved intricate patterns in the floor. They called out the names "Astaroth", "Asmodeus", "Beelzebub", "Belphegor", "Gremory", "Lillith", and "Mephistopheles" over and over again until the children in the cages could take it no more and began to scream. The priests quickly moved to kill the children, as the seven great demons had entered into the room, when the room shone a brilliant white. The seven satanist had completed their rituals, but they were killed instead of the children. The Archangel Gabriel had intervened just in time to save them from death, but not quickly enough to stop them from absorbing the 1/100 of each of the seven greatest demon's powers. Gabriel quickly wove cloths over them which vanished into their skins. It gave the demonic energy a place to flow to, and kept the power from driving the children into insanity. Another person who had been watching from afar to not interfere had become furious. The children had absorbed the power his followers were to have. Cain immeadiately went to slay the children, only to be held at bay by Gabriel while the children escaped.

Charred and beaten, the seven made it to the beach, where they collapsed. Gabriel sealed the tunnel, and kept them at bay long enough for the children to recover. When morning came, they found a scroll left by Gabriel explaining what his shrouds had done. Kenneth opened a portal to the continental U.S. and they escaped through there. The rough and tumble group have bonded thouoghly, and will not willingly be seperated by anyone other than themselves.

Cain would not be such an easy opponent to elude, though. He would track their every movement, and send his minions to interfere with their plans. He would even appear once when he thought he had a way to remove their powers. The children really did want to be rid of these demonic powers, but didn't want them in the hands of this lunatic. Gabriel, who was still trying to figure out how to remove the powers himself, heard their desperate cry for help. He warded off Cain, and allowed Kenneth to open a portal to another place. Cain had gained the ability to negate their powers, but Gabriel stopped him dead cold.

Other information: I'm having to rework the character just a little to make him fit into the DC Universe. He is part of a team called Phantom Inc., but this orginazation has members who would call for the entire universe to be reworked around them (Atlanteans would need wings for instance).
