Title: Harm: OYL
Marx - November 2, 2006 03:56 PM (GMT)
(For once I'm actually going to go in an OYL format for this one. So this is starting one year after the second crisis)
The loud buzzing noise woke up Will as he inwardly jumped but realized he couldn't jump too far because Cassie was under one of his arms. The jump slightly roused her as well as he gave her a good morning kiss. It was good to know that they'd worked out they're problems at least for the time being. After using his powers to move his arm without waking her up, Will stretched and made his way to the shower. It was good that he didn't have to sneak around in her new apartment, not that he actually minded when she was still at Elias. It just gave him ways to show off his stealthiness, it was kind of weird just being able to knock on her door and come in with no suspicion though he still came in through the window from time to time just for the hell of it.
A familiar ring from his cell phone made Will look out of the shower and quickly put on a towel to answer it. "Talk to me." Will said bluntly as the voice on the other end answered.
"Hello Harm, hope we didn't wake you, but we've got a level 3 demon we need you to bring us doa. We're sending you the coordinates." Will looked down at Cassie sensing her to make sure she was alseep before he answered. "How do you want the body?"
"In as close to one piece as you can get, preferably." "Done." Will answered as he hung up the phone and quickly got dressed. Sure he could have tried to make his costume out of the towel...but there wasn't as much material to manipulate in the towel as he'd like and he didn't want to go out looking like a Power Girl version of Harm. This routine seemed so normal now, it was odd to think that before his only job was working in a music store.
(As with my other stories long change in color indicates flashback :P) It was just a usual day at the music store when Will looked up to see 3 familiar faces which made him let out a long sigh. Noticing the change in appearance Erin looked back at Will with a dark smirk. "Awww, what's wrong Will? Not your favorite customers?" "Let's just say...me and Cass had a run in with them on our first date which involved a gun...that they were too stupid to realize had the safety still on.." Hearing this, there was a slight pause before Erin broke into a fit of laughter. "*snicker* They forgot the- *snicker* You're kidding me right?" Sure enough it was the Will-dubbed idiot trio. Composed of the annoying girl with the long name, the ninja turtle wannabe, and the pretty boy, they tried to hold up the entire mall in the middle of the day inconveniently on Will and Cassie's first outing. "I kid you not, I ended up using my powers to drop both guys' pants." Will whispered with a devious smirk of his own, causing Erin to laugh even harder. (For more info on exactly what went down check out
Trip to the mall)
"Awww, I so wish I could have been there.""Glad you weren't or that would have made things all kinds of complicated..." Will mumbled under his breath, which by Erin's grin she totally heard, which was punctuated by sticking out her tongue and doing a seductive lick which Will did his best to ignore. But Will turned his attention back to the trio that were whispering and pointing at him which sadly enough meant that they recognized him...just great. The annoying girl was the first to walk up to him with a cocky expression as Sheryln sent Erin to the back to work on the inventory much to her disapproval since she obviously wanted to see what the confrontation would be like. "I thought you guys were banned from the mall.." Will muttered knowing that he couldn't be as blatantly rude now that he was technically a worker and they were technically customers. "That was only a 2 year suspension, as long as we behave we can come back." The girl said as she pointed back to the surfer guy and the pretty boy who, as Will remembered it had a mirror that he kept looking back at.
"That's...great. So is there anything I can help you with?" Will said in his best polite voice. And from the look of all three, he could tell this was going to be a very long day.
Marx - November 10, 2006 06:58 PM (GMT)
Will had his share of bad customers at the store before. Sure the majority were fans of either his music or acting but with any store you get the occasional jerks and usually they didn't get to Will too much. You're talking about a guy who fights psychos on a superteam on a regular basis. But then again, when the villains annoy you, you can beat the crap out of them, you couldn't really do that with the customers and the idiot trio was really pushing their luck. Not only were they specifically calling Will for every possible problem or question, but they kept 'accidentally' knocking down the displays which Will had to set back up each time.
After setting up the Weird Al display for the 6th time today, Will could hear the trio whispering about something excitedly. "Oh Wiiiiiiill?" The annoying girl called over as Will, with the other two guys snickering in the back. "Yes ma'am." Will said with possibly the most forced smile ever done. "Which of these three cds would you prefer?" Will's eyes went wide as he saw Paris Hilton's, K-Fed's, and Jessica Simpson's cd. The part of him that had actual musical taste wouldn't let him say he'd prefer any of the three. "Well...I don't really listen to any of those...artist....so...I'm not the best person to ask..." The annoying girl's eyes lit up as she passed some headphones over to Will. "Well then just listen to a few songs on each and let me know what you think." Erin, who was working the register turned over to Will hearing something that sounded like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other...but it was just Will's teeth grinding as he was forced to go through something he'd have gladly chosen two more years of Hell over.
"They're gonna kill him if they keep this up..." Erin sympathetically muttered. She'd tried to switch places with Will but they always insisted that they wanted Will. "Sooooo?" The annoying girl asked as Will looked like he'd snap at any moment. "...I'd say they're all...equally....talented..." It seemed like it killed Will to say any of the three had 'talent' just as he had before when he called them 'artists'. "Any choice would suit the three of just fi-" A familiar sound of falling cds made Will drop his head with a sigh. "...why don't I get that?" Will said sarcastically like it was his decision. "Awww, I'll help." The annoying girl said as she began to help Will pick up the cds. "Having a good time are we?" Will whispered so that only the girl could hear as she got a devious smirk. "Awww, I haven't even gotten to the best part yet..." She whispered back as she grabbed Will's wrist and pulled it so hard that she slammed into the cd shelf behind her.
Will let out a loud groan. Not because of all the cds on the floor now but because to anyone who saw that it would look like Will pushed her away and into the shelf. Erin seemed to groan as well as she knew what happened but it didn't really matter especially since her and Will were friends. As Will and Erin looked over to the annoying girl, the two guys were next to her giving Will evil looks as they demanded to know why he pushed her when she was only trying to help. Looking at each other both Will and Erin could see where this was leading.
Marx - November 14, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
"Will...I know you wouldn't push her and I believe both you and Erin, but..." Simon started but Will interrupted. "Yeah, I know. All the customers saw me 'push' her so it would just look bad for me to still work here." Will stated, though it sounded more like he said the sentence through a sigh. "I'm really sorry." Will gave a nod to Simon as shook his hand. He knew it wasn't Simon's fault, it was just a sucky situation.
"Want me to kill 'em?" Erin asked. Luckily Erin's shift was over so he was able to talk to her a little before he went back to the Tower. "You see...I'm not completely sure if you're joking or not..." "I'm not." "That's what I thought." Will said with a slight smirk which was returned by Erin. "You still haven't answered the question." Will flashed back a wink. "I know...I'm thinking."
Harm materialized from the shadows where the DEO's coordinates said the demon was. It shouldn't be that big of a deal, he was only a level 3, but then again it wouldn't be the first time the DEO got something wrong. It wouldn't be the first time he was supposed to be going after one demon and ended up needing some help. But so far it seemed pretty clear cut. He could sense the demonic aura nearby. Following his senses he was led into an empty alley, looks like the demon was on the run.
Looking around, Harm couldn't see the demon and could only see one door. As tempting as it was to go through the door out of sheer curiosity, he didn't feel like playing games. "Two ways to do this man. My way or the dead one." Harm threatened after he shadowported literally in front of the aura causing the demon to run right into him. He was pretty scrawny, kind of had a punkish look to him, with purple skin and a white mohawk. He looked not only surprised by Harm's sudden appearance but, terrified as well. "You've gotta be kidding me..." But as soon as Harm seemingly dropped his guard, the scrawny demon's eyes began to glow red and his muscles throbbed and grew until he was significantly bigger than Harm and not looking scared in the slightly. "Now that's more like it." Harm said in anticipation as he cracked his knuckles.
Not far away from the mall, at Cassie's new place if anyone listened they'd hear one thing. "WHAT!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU GOT FIRED!?" It might have seemed like Cassie was being slightly mean but Will probably could have figured out a more tactful way of letting her know than 'You know the most interesting thing happened at work today. I got fired.' "But...you loved that job! What happened?" For how unfair the situation was, Will seemed to be taking it disturbingly well. Cass knew Will well enough to know this was because he figured something bad would happen eventually anyway, which was only making her more upset as he explained the situation with the trio.
"There wasn't really too much I could do, ya know?" Will said as he sat on the recliner. But Will seemed a little too calm. "So you just...let them go?..No revenge or anything?" "Erin did offer to kill them..." "Wiiiiilll, that's not funny." Will smirked as he pulled Cassie on top of him. "I told her no...I'd just drop them in Hell." "Will..." Cassie said rolling her eyes. "What? It was less than a minute..." Will said with a straight face which was contrasted by Cassie's as she saw that he wasn't joking. "WILL!" "They'll be fine. Didn't even know it was me. I was just...educating them on where they're ways would lead them. So much faster and more effective than lectures." Despite Will's logic, Cassie was still slightly scowling at him.
"You know, your face will get stuck like that." Will teased trying to get a smile out of Cassie which she was still fighting. "You have homework to do though don't you?" "Yeah, but shouldn't I-?" "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I was tortured nonstop for two years, baby, getting fired from a music store isn't nearly as bad as dealing with real fire." "...you know it really worries me when you say thing's like that..." Cassie said as she began to get off of Will who hugged her from behind. "I know, the point is you need to do your homework and I need to let you." Will said warmly as he kissed Cassie's cheek and walked away. "I'll just pass the time by...stabbing myself or something." "WILL!" Will had a devious smirk once again at Cassie's reaction. "Just kidding. I wouldn't do that half as much if you didn't look so cute when you're shocked." Will said as he opened the door. "...you're so mean to me..." Cassie mumbled with a pouty face though you could see her smirking a little at the 'cute' comment.
"You love it." Will said as he left, paused and then opened the door again. "Love youuuuuuuuuuuu!" Cassie finally couldn't hold in her laughter anymore as she shook her head. "I love you too...I guess." Will smiled as he closed the door once again and let out a sigh. "Mr. Hayes?" A voice said behind him which by Will's reaction he knew was there since his humorous smirk was replaced by his more familiar threatening look. "You guys are really persistant aren't you? It's really annoying.
Marx - November 15, 2006 07:38 PM (GMT)
Harm was tackled by the demon from the top of a staircase and the two ended up tumbling down. "Why *oof!* the hell *oof!* does everyone *ugh!* feel they need *agh!* these stupid *oof!* spiralling staircases?" Harm mumbled as his body healed the injuries he'd aquired during the fall, only to have the demon grab his neck and slam him into the wall. "What can we say? It's just cool." The demon said with an evil smirk as his grip on Harm's neck tightened. "Two...questions...one..." Harm started as he spread his arms and brought them together so quickly they had a scissor effect, slicing off the hand that was around his neck. "Are you one of those demons who can still control limbs that are cut off?" Harm calmly asked as he tore the amputated hand from his neck. "AAAAAAAAAAGH!" "I'll take that as a no..." Harm said cockily as he threw the hand away.
"Now for the second question. You said 'we'." Harm said as he saw behind the demon at least 10 other ones looking none too happy about the situation. "He's the only one I'm after. You guys on the other hand are free to go unless you piss me off." Judging by the looks on all of the demons' faces, especially the dehanded one seemed like they'd be going for the 'dead' option. "Oh well. Don't say I didn't offer." Harm said with a shrug as his demeaner went serious once again, the red in his eyes flashing.
With a sigh, Will went to his more familiar routine of sneaking into Elias. Inside the dorm he saw Traya playing video games. "Hey Traya, is Greta around?" Will asked, as Traya mumbled and pointed to Greta's room door. "Thanks...oh and I'd use two dark knights and an alchemist against that thing." Traya grunted in frustration as she continued with the game and Will knocked on the door. The DEO had been so persistent with him lately, even going as far as asking through his friends, it was only out of sheer boredom that he actually heard them out this time. "Hey Will, what's going on?" Greta asked as she opened the door.
"Hey sis, just wanted to...talk to you about some things." With a warm smile, Greta replied. "Sure thing, Twinkie I'm all ears." Will tried to hide his eyes bulging momentarily at her annoying nickname for him, but from Greta's smirk she still saw it as she closed the door. "Just keep it up, Gretel." Will teased, sticking out his tongue as he sat on the bed. "Okay, I'll just get straight to the point. You know how the DEO's been trying to contact me for the past couple of weeks? I finally heard them out today." Greta's expression turned serious as her relationship with the DEO wasn't exactly the best. "And?" "And they want me to hunt down demons for them in exchange for releasing me from my 'jail time'." Will said using finger quotes on 'jail time'. Greta cocked her head to the side looking slightly confused with good reason. It had been so long and the team had changed so much that almost everyone had forgotten the main reason Harm was with the Titans was to serve his sentence for his attempted murder of the Pope among other things.
"But you're...one of the leaders of the team. I thought that was over awhile ago, it's not like anyone on the team's actually watching over you anymore." Will had a slight smirk as he thought about it. "Well...maybe Robin, but he watches everyone. And I know, even I forgot about that agreement. But the APES haven't, and they remembered when I got them Rip and figured I'd have no issue with doing that on a regular basis." There was a slight pause as the two of them seemed to be thinking. "So...are you taking the offer?" Greta asked as she looked intently at Will. "I said I'd consider it. Not like I'd really care about bringing in demons as long as they're not half human or something, especially since they're willing to pay me a good bit for it. But I'd want to know you were cool with it before I give an answer." Will said as once again there was a slightly awkward silence. After all Will would be working with the people who captured, tortured, and almost killed Greta.
"Would you be able to make sure they aren't holding any other innocent kids prisoner?" Will looked up to Greta as he replied. "I'd do my best." "In that case...I guess I'm okay with it... At least it won't be a big deal killing them if you need to." Greta said with an almost scary look as she met Will eye to eye. "Heh...figured you'd know about that. Since you haven't told anyone and don't seem particularly angry I take it you're fine with that? I'm just sick and tired of fighting the same damn demons over and over." "...no...I don't really agree with it...but...I understand why you're doing it. You don't want what happened with Lister and Hellfire to happen again. So you don't have to worry about me telling anyone. If there's one thing I understand it's killing to save those close to you."
Once again there seemed to be an awkward pause as the two of them thought of the last time that happened, almost like a moment of silence as they remembered.
Marx - November 17, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
"HE'S ONLY ONE GUY! WOULD ONE OF YOU KILL HIM ALREADY!?' One of the demons yelled only to get kicked in the mouth by Harm. The demons probably thought Harm's cocky attitude was just a front, but they were finding out the hard way, his confidence had merit. A loud cracking was heard as Harm slid on the floor kicking one of the demons in his knees breaking both of them. Harm had been continuing his training with the White Mage as he said he would and it was definitely beginning to show in his fighting style which had become a lot more ruthless, though that probably wasn't Elvira's intent.
Moving his head to the side, Harm was able to dodge a punch and grab the demon's hand, not only breaking it at the wrist but throwing him into the demon that was charging him from the front. Before the two colliding demons could even hit the wall from the force of the throw, Harm had dashed adding his own forced to the blow with a knee to the gut. Turning around he did his patented finishing move of punching his adversary as hard as he could in the stomach and blasting them with his fist still there. A dark smirk crossed his face as he looked at all the chaos around him. "As much fun as that was, I did come with a job in mind, and as I said..." Harm held out his hand and with a black and red mist, his blade, Purgatory appeared. This sword was aptly named for any being who saw it, and there weren't many who did and lived to tell about it... "...my way or the dead one."
While Greta had been talking to Will, she had also been pretty busy as well so Will didn't hold her up. Though now that he thought about it he kind of felt the need to get away just to think things over, but that would have to wait...at least the thinking things over part since he had to check up on Aglorond. Once again donned in his outfit, Will became Harm and shadowported to the secret and mystical realm of Aglorond. Truth be told he was still in awe of the village, and how a place so beautiful could be so full of violence and hate. "Lord Harm!" Harm looked over to see some of the Eldrich bowing to him, and with a nod he acknowledged them. "As you were." He said politely. As close as he was to his friends this was one secret he chose to keep from all of them, even Cassie. Duo knew of him finding his half-sister, Mortem, but not the fact that killing her put him in charge of her village. (for full details check out One step closer)"Lord Harm!" Turning over Harm saw a young Eldrich boy running towards him. With a warm smile Harm knelt down to the boy's level. When Harm had first come to Aglorond with Mortem, he'd stopped this boy from getting beaten and most likely killed by his father for being 'weak'. "Hello Thorm, I take it Sarittar's treating you well?" "Yes milord. Thank you again for-" "It was no problem." Harm interrupted. "Everyone should have a chance to prove themselves when they're older. All I did was give you that chance." Harm said with a polite nod to Thorm's smile. "Thank you milord. I'll do my best." With another nod, Harm got up and began to go to the castle. It was odd, everything was the same as his first time there but there were some differences. The people looked on Harm with both fear and respect as they did with Mortem, but there was some underlying resentment. Though Harm knew why, the Eldrich had been training for centuries to destroy humanity and come so close to going forth with their plan and a new ruler comes from nowhere destroying they're old one and the status quo has changed.
But none of them would stand against what he said. That was the way the Eldrich were. The most powerful was the leader of the pack and for the moment that was Harm. And as much as he hated to admit it, part of him loved the fear and respect...and maybe just a little of the worship. Once inside his castle Harm made his way to the one who he'd left in charge. "Tvarus, we need to talk." Harm said with a serious expression that obviously worried Mortem's half brother. "Y-yes milord. Of course...was anything...unpleasing to his highness?" The corner of Harm's lips moved into a smirk as he could sense Tvarus's increasing fear. "Not yet. There are two things I want to talk to you about, and one of them is Mortem's allies." "Not a problem at all, sire." Seeing that he hadn't angered Harm and wouldn't be sharing his sister's fate, Tvarus seemed to relax somewhat. "Is there anyone of the Eldrich that would be solely loyal to Mortem? And I mean anyone. I know how this goes and I want to nip it in the bud before it starts."
Harm's thinking process was beginning to go for the proactive lately. One of the reasons he made this visit was to get anyone who'd be unloyal to him out of the way now and not wait for them to come after him. "Hm...none really come to mind, sire. Well... Harm raised an eyebrow as it seemed that Tvarus was thinking of something. "Well?" "Well...all of the Eldrich will follow you because of your victory over Mortem. That's the way things are, any who would have stood against you already tried and failed against Lad-...er..Mortem. But...there is one who might be an issue if she found out about Mortem's death." Harm's eyes narrowed. "And who would that be?" "Lucrecia...Mortem's mother."
Marx - November 29, 2006 01:31 AM (GMT)
"Lucrecia huh?" Harm said in almost a threatening tone. Though it wasn't really directed at Tvarus, just a general threat. The last thing he wanted was family drama. "So I'd have some problems with her?" "Well, milord she's the only one who comes to mind that would be opposed to a new leader but...your father sealed her up. Rumor has it that she became kind of...clingy." Normally hearing this would have been enough for Harm but the fact was, Mortem was sealed up as well. True, he was the one that released her but it just goes to show that being 'sealed' even by his father doesn't mean all that much.
"Okay, I'll deal with that in a bit lets get to the fun stuff." Tvarus cocked his head to the side with a confused expression as he asked, "Fun stuff, sire?" "Mortem strikes me as the kind of person who'd have one hell of an arsenal even if she didn't actually need or use it that often."
It wasn't long before Harm not only found the weapon room but also found out where Lucrecia was being held. Once again it was a part of Hell, but Harm figured that she'd be let out anyway so he might as well be the one to do it. But unlike Mortem, Lucrecia wasn't just held in a barrier she was actually held inside a lava pit similar to the fire pit that Harm was tortured in, which just brought back all kinds of good memories. But the fact was locking her there was much trickier to get to than the barrier which meant two things. One, Harm wouldn't be able to just walk into this one and two, since this one's more dangerous, that would imply that Satan reeeeeally didn't want Lucrecia getting out.
With a sigh, Harm looked over the pit. Just like he had that feeling he shouldn't have gone to Aglorond he was thinking he should just leave Lucrecia in the pit. But that wasn't the best analogy considering he stopped an invasion the last time he did it. Concentrating, Harm did his best to find even the slightest dark spot in the pit and finding it he was able to manipulate the shadows just enough to shadowport beside him what was inside with a huge thud as it hit the ground. Looking over, he saw that it resembled a casket. "Well, I've gone this far.." Harm said to himself as he raised his hand and fired a blast through the side of the casket unexpectedly causing the entire cover to practically shoot off like a rocket.
"Okay...I think I see where Mortem got her looks from..." Harm said, cocking his head to the side. He had to admit it was rather annoying seeing these people who look like they're 30 when they're centuries old. True he might have to deal with that himself but it'll be awkward having a child who looks just as old as you are. But Lucrecia definitely had all of the Eldrich features. The white skin and the hair(which was just as obsenely long as Mortem's) to match, he couldn't really see her eyes as they were closed.
But this wasn't the situation for long as they suddenly opened and Harm found himself caught offguard since he was so distracted by how she looked. This turned out to be moot as the first thing Lucrecia did wasn't exactly an attack...at least in the traditional sense. "My lord! It's been so long!" Lucrecia yelled as she threw her arms around Harm. "Oh for the luva...what's with all the hugs recently?" Harm complained, though to be honest at least Lucrecia wasn't naked during the embrace like Mortem was.
Marx - November 30, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
"Oh Lucifer, my lord, I knew you wouldn't lock me here forever!" Lucrecia said as she embraced Harm even harder, though even if Harm had been embracing back(which he wasn't) he would have stopped at that moment. "...I'm sorry what did you just call me?" Harm growled, his demonic anger once more getting the better of him to which seemed to only make Lucrecia smile more. "Oh husband I do rather like this new form of yours. I always said long hair would suit you bett-." Before Lucrecia was able to finish the sentence Harm had charged, his forearm driving into her neck, with so much force that it practically exploded the casket which had once imprisoned her for so long.
"Okay, I know you've been locked in there awhile but you get this straight right now. I am not Lucifer nor am I anything like him and if you make that mistake one more time you'll face my fury like none before you is that understood!" Harm yelled putting so much force into his voice that it echoed throughout the area. Even with her difficulty breathing, Lucrecia seemed to take it in stride which was obvious from her continued smile. "My...apologizes...don't know...how...I could have...made that...mistake." Harm released her from the hold but not because of the apology, which was laced with sarcasm anyway, but because all he was doing was proving her point for her.
"I don't appreciate that sarcasm." Harm said with an equally dark voice as he noticed Lucrecia, realizing that he really wasn't Satan, seemed quite confused which only made him angrier though he kept it in check. "Who are you, stranger?" "My name is Harm. And before you ask, yes I'm one of the six." This time it was Harm's face that was laced confusion as Lucrecia's expression continued to change though the reason was soon apparent. "Lucifer...has another...w...wife?" "Er...not...a wife per se. And from my understanding of the situation it was more like he-" "I WON'T STAND FOR THIS! I WILL NOT BE REPLACED! I WILL FIND THIS NEW WIFE AND MAKE HER SUFFER FOR MAKING MY LORD FORGET ABOUT ME! ALL OF HELL WILL RAIN WITH HER BLOOD! SHE WILL-" "She's already dead." Harm said bluntly as he leaned against the wall stopping Lucrecia's rant. He was beginning to see that whole 'clingy' thing Tvarus told him about.
"Oh...I see how it went. He tried to replace me to make me jealous and then thought I wouldn't forgive him so he couldn't bare to face me..." Harm let out a sigh as Lucrecia went off on another rant. He was originally going to correct her but felt it'd be best to let her get it out of her system. "And so he sent you to free me!" "No. I freed you on my own accord actually." Harm stated calmly as he continued to closely watch Lucrecia. "Oh is that right? If I may ask why did you free me then?" Lucrecia asked once again flipping facial expressions like they were a switch. "Because things didn't go so well when I freed Mortem. I wanted to make sure history wouldn't repeat itself." Harm once again said bluntly paying close attention to Lucrecia's actions. After all, Mortem seemed relatively nice at first as well. "...my daughter was imprisonned as well?"
"I know. Does seem kind of repetitive doesn't it? But I guess the whole Satan's children thing is a pattern in itself. Supposedly we all try to overthrow him at one point and while we get closer each generation we always fail." Once again Lucrecia wore her expressions on her sleeve. "..I suppose...he did what he had to..." "Not to say he wouldn't have killed her eventually, but he put her in one of his torture pits. I let her out and I killed her as well as destroying her soul to make sure she stayed dead, you're looking at the ruler of Aglorond." Harm said, his ego coming out slightly as he stated his accomplishments. And sure enough, he got the reaction he was expecting since the moment he released her, soon he was the one against the wall with the forearm pressing against his throat.
"How. Dare! You take my daughter's rightful place. There isn't even the slightest drop of Eldrich blood in your veins! What right do you have to rule us?" Seeing Lucrecia's unbridled fury he began to see what would have attracted her to his father in the first place, though he also wondered if being insane was a prerequisite to be a mother of the six of if they were all driven that way. "I suppose I should tell you the real kicker of this situation then." Harm stated with a devious smile not seeming to mind the lack of air. "Oh? What could possibly disgrace my people more?" "Did I mention my mother was human?"
Marx - December 11, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
Before Lucrecia could say anything or even fully take in the new information Harm turned the tables on her and once again she was against the wall. "I'm surprised you didn't realize it. Mortem did almost instantly, but then again, it's as she said, my body may be demon but my soul is all too human." Harm said almost with pride before he was suddenly thrown off the wall by a blast. Flipping with the shockwaves, Harm landed on his feet and looked forward to see Lucrecia with a white aura similar to Mortem's but it was less focussed. If he had to guess he'd say that Lucrecia had taught Mortem the magics she knew, but Mortem mastered it far beyond what her mother could do.
"BLASPHEMER! YOU CORRUPT MY PEOPLE!" Lucrecia screamed as she unleashed various blasts at Harm, all of which he continued to either dodge or teleport out of the way. Once again he had to give a thanks to the White Mage's training methods. "Hate to be the one to tell you this, but your people were corrupted well before I showed up." Harm dodged one more blast before deflecting one right back at Lucrecia making her explode into wall of rock causing a slight avalanche. Lucrecia's eyes went wide as she saw the source of the deflection gleaming in Harm's hand. "...the Moonblade! You dare!"
"Why shouldn't I? My kingdom, my weapon." Harm said darkly as he looked over the extravagant sword, one of the things in Mortem's arsenal that especially caught his eye, for both how it looked, and it's obvious magical properties. Seeing Harm wielding the weapon seemed to only make Lucrecia more furious which Harm took total advantage of. "Thinking about changing the name though, Moonblade's okay, but it needs something with a little more 'umph'. Deathblade or maybe something Japanese like..Shisui..." Harm said seemingly lost in thought but as soon as Lucrecia launched an attack, Harm tackled her into the rubble with such force she spat out blood. But it was soon evident that it might not have been the force of the tackle that did it as Harm grinned mischeviously as the two of them looked down at the sword's blade driven into Lucrecia's gut.
"Actually, I was thinking of another name. Considering this sword's special ability to mimic a certain spell Mortem likes to use, I think I should call it..." Harm's grin only got darker as Lucrecia realized was he was about to do. "...Purgatory." Harm finished as he activated the sword's power to absorb the soul into a neutral dimension incased inside of it's blade. Lucrecia's body fell lifeless as Harm wiped the blood off his newly dubbed sword. "Okay Lucrecia, here's the deal. You know full well I could easily destroy your soul while it's in the sword whenever I will it so...but I'm not. For what it's worth I don't want to kill you, but I can't leave you alive either so here's the deal. First..." Harm felt a sudden tug from the Purgatory's handle as if it was trying to pull his soul into it. "Well...first, do that again and I destroy you. Second, you officially work for me, and that reality is now your realm. I'll see what I can do to make it a little more...cozy for you. But your job is to make sure any other souls that come into your realm are destroyed. You can play with them or whatever first if you wish, I'm sure it'll be quite boring in there, but I want them destroyed."
There was a pause as the sword began to glow. "Smart woman. Finally, I'll point out Greta, Duo and Cassie to you. But if anyone else touches this sword you're welcome to their soul as well but if I find out you took Cassie's, Duo's or Greta's I can guarentee you a weak body and a very slow and painful death. Maybe even something that would involve my father..." Harm said glaring at the sword which once again began to glow. "Then Purgatory...this is the beginning of a-" "Beautiful friendship?" Harm turned around to see where the other voice came from only to realize that it was in his head...and worst...he knew the voice... "Well son, I must say, you're doing a very good job at tying up my forgotten loose ends. Why do I get the feeling that you wouldn't have done it if I'd asked you personally." Harm growled outloud before returning the message. 'I wasn't tying up your loose ends I was tying up my own. Now get the Hell out of my head.' All Harm could hear was a laugh as the connection between the two was cut off.
Once again it seemed like the demons just wouldn't listen and soon enough Lucrecia had some new playmates inside of the sword and only the one demon remained. "Do I need to give you the option again." This time the demon dropped to his knees pleading. "Okay! Okay! I won't fight anymore. I give up. Mercy!" Harm seemed to think about it for a second. "..nah."
Shadowporting into the DEO headquarters Harm dropped off the demon's corpse which was fully intact with the exception of a slight slice across it's neck. The cool thing about Purgatory is that it didn't have to be a fatal blow for it to work, it just had to draw a certain amount of blood. "You know, Harm...you could bring them alive every once in awhile." Harm turned back to see one of the workers there. "Hello Janet. And hey, if you want them alive you shouldn't send me after demons." Janet looked curiously at Harm as she took the body. "I thought you didn't hunt humans?" Harm gave Janet a smirked as he shadowported out leaving an echo of his voice. 'I don't.'
As Harm returned to his room at Titans Tower and changed back into his civilian clothes. It's odd how a few series of events can completely change the status quo. But the way Will saw it, Mortem did have one thing right. 'Evil' is relative. And as far as Will saw things, he wasn't evil, he was simply doing everything in his power to make sure it didn't hurt his loved ones ever again.
The End
