Ok, so I'm going to be staying in the US for 3 months this coming February and i need an american mobile phone to use while i'm there. In the UK you can get Pay-As-You-Go phones on all networks but i cant find any for the states. Plus i don't have a clue about all the networks over there, I'm used to O2, Virgin mobile, Orange, Three and Vodafone. I have one here on o2 but i know how super expensive it is to use over there. So i want to know what network you guys are on and if you have any tips on phones. Like can i use a sprint phone on the nextel talk thing, and can i get a pay as you go phone.

I have a LG from cingular and I think that that's a good phone. It dosn't mattre what phone you get but I would steer for Cingular phones.

T-Mobile, Cingular, and Virgin have pay-as-you-go phones. I have Virgin, but I'm thinking of switching to T-Mobile. Better phones.

I have cingular and am happy with the service. No idea what the pay-as-yo-go is like though.
