atlantis - January 31, 2007 03:52 PM (GMT)
Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, on the 11th of February I shall be leaving my beloved England for America...for three months. Finally i'll be on your time zone and actually have time to go on the computer to use it :) I'll be staying with Mark again so I'll be the reason he wont post as much ;)
Expect updates!!
Marx - January 31, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
Oooo! 11 days and counting! And I'll find it hilarious if you end up posting more than I do.
Shinobi - January 31, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Excellent...with Katie back from France, and Lani in America...I can finally begin plan 'Pacify and conqure Europe' *Steeples fingers* Mostly I just plan to switch Big Ben and the Eiffel tower with each other...and maybe steal Stonehenge. The English aren't using it right!
Fledgling - January 31, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
Awesome. Plans to go anywhere while your in the states, Lani? You'll be here right in the beginning of convention season after all. Hope you two have fun! ^_^......
Shinobi-please. I conquered Europe ages ago. Yours gonna have to step up your game. B)
Shinobi - February 2, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
Mmmmm, very well. The game shall be as you say...'stepped up.'
*Steeples fingers, then moves a chess piece...SINISTERLY!*
Soon...very soon. You shall see the error in challanging my power. My revenge will be like the Rhino in June. You shall not see it...until it's barreling down on you.
atlantis - February 2, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
...you guys do realise that with Mark and I together our hold on the world will become ...really good.
MWAHAHAHAHAAA!!
Plus my Legions of Dooom will kick your tushies.
Marx - February 2, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
And your Geccos! Don't forget your Geccos!
Shinobi - February 2, 2007 09:31 PM (GMT)
Ah, that is where you are wrong. You see, I remember Marx saying that ruling 'anything larger than a country is just to much effort'.
Mwahahaha! Which means I just have to wait for frustration and take what he decides he doesn't want anymore!
Marx - February 2, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
No no no, I said ruling more than the planet was too much effort. I don't need to be a universal leader. :P
atlantis - February 2, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
And you know girls are good multi-taskers, i can rule many countires while making real pancakes instead of your crazy ones.
Marx - February 2, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
Are they dripping with butter and syrup? Mmmmmm yummy syrup!
atlantis - February 2, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
NO!! You know the syrup rules!!
English pancakes, English toppings!! Lemon and sugar for all!!
Shinobi - February 2, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
But...but...ENGLAND ISN'T EVEN A REAL COUNTRY!
The London police don't even carry guns! Hell London didn't even HAVE police until the 1800's!
Marx - February 2, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
...uh oh...*knows where this is going and edges away*
atlantis - February 2, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
.....Don't make me hurt you.
Not a real country?! Owned 3/4 of the WORLD!! The British EMPIRE!! Including enslaved America. beat that. Best Navy in the world, won world wars 1 & 2 by fighting from the begining and not acting like it wasn't our problem till the last minute. Is one of the powers of the world and wait for it...its smaller than a third of Texas. No other country in the world has as much influence and World History as England, Great Britain, The United Kingdom. Plus we made SCONES!! ....and you guys can't make a cup of tea worth a damn.
And we have a Queen.
[On September 29, 1829, the Metropolitan Police Act was passed by Parliament, allowing Sir Robert Peel, the then home secretary, to found the London Metropolitan Police. This group of Police are often referred to as ´Bobbies´ due to the fact that it was Sir Robert (Bobby) Peel who authorised it. They were regarded as the most efficient forerunners of a modern Police force and became a model for the police forces in most countries, such as the United States, and most of the then British Empire. In the United States, the first organized police service was established in Boston in 1838, New York in 1844, and Philadelphia in 1854.]

Fledgling - February 2, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
wow....learn something new everyday......Do NOT tick Lani off.....and a history lesson. Yay! ^_^
*Moves a chess piece* Check and mate :P
Shinobi - February 2, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
Well, I actually feel let down about that. I was hoping for a longer rant...
Anyway, the Mongols were better I believe it's been cited as the 'Largest land Empire in history'. And don't forget that England was owned by the Roman Empire at one point if i'm not mistaken.
And c'mon, your rivals were...THE FRENCH! Then again that was back when they were a respected world power...
Anyway, I don't really regard anything as a legitimate nation.
Marx - February 2, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
Even the U.S.? Traitor! Traitor I say! *secretly drenches my pancakes in syrup*
Fledgling - February 2, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
hmm sugar on pancakes? Regular or powdered sugar?
Shinobi - February 3, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
Regular sugar of course.
By degree of Psuedo-Emporer Justinian I!!!
Fledgling - February 3, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
NO! POWDERED sugar and butter on Bananna Pancakes by DECREE of the Mighty Creator of YJUTT. My word cannot be ignored!
Shinobi - February 3, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Well of COURSE butter on pancakes. That goes without saying. It's like...part of the UN charter...
Hmmmm...Bananna Pancakes...I don't think i've had those.
Pineapple...
Chocolate Chip...
Blueberry...
Homemade...
From a box...
Nope, no Bananna. They any good?
Fledgling - February 3, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
With the toppings, it's like bananna nut bread cept' it's sweeter. I messed around in the kitchen till I made my own recipe for them. Definitely the better of some of my experimentations...candied mushrooms did NOT turn out well. j/k
Shinobi - February 3, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
Mmmmmm. Bananna nut bread...just for talking about something that's as good as bananna nutbread that you made...I say Rachel wins the thread!
atlantis - February 3, 2007 12:36 PM (GMT)
Unfortunately you are talking about American pancakes....Wich is not a real food type at all. English pancakes for all!!
[America was discovered and noted as a continant in 1492...England has been fighting off invasions plus can trace history back since 325 BC. To quote a movie "England Prevails" that means my little country rocks]
Marx - February 4, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
Ah but until I have English pancakes, American ones are still yummy and delicious! (Love banana nut pancakes by the way...never had pineapple) But it won't make thaaaaat big of a difference since I still like American chocolate, and while I rarely drink it, American tea. ;)
Jakazul - February 7, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
What are they teaching you in those Limey schools? America won both world wars. We may have been allies, you may have been winners, but you didn't win.
America dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, which had more influence on the war than anything you ever did. The fact that you did nothing 'til the end -in itself- proves that you weren't doing all you could.
Your Navy's good, but we have the best armed forces in the world and at very least the second best navy, I would argue that it's better now.
We have DEMOCRACY. The queen is quite possibly the only political position that's more of a worthless figurehead than our president, not to mention that your's is hereditary rather than based on ACTUAL merits.
We beat your asses back after you "enslaved" us and I don't seem to see Africa, Canada, India, etc. still worshiping the queen either.
If you were so great, America wouldn't be here at all because we WOULDN'T HAVE WANTED TO GET AWAY FROM YOU.
Fledgling - February 7, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
o.o Note to self.....don't ever piss Jake off either....or argue about politics for that matter.
Ancient(Well, not that Ancient) history people....not a pissing contest. Both contries are great and have their pros and cons. Comparing democracy and hierarchy is like comparing apples and oranges. Both can be good, but both are extremely different.
...
...
...
* secretly slips happy pills into various cups of tea for everyone* Tea time!
BTW, Lani....what are English pancakes? Are sweet and/or fattening? Cause if they are, I'd probably like em' :P
Shinobi; aww, thanks! Maybe I'll post the recipe later in a cooking blog in the blog section.
Marx - February 7, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
Woo! Happy Pill tea!
PS: Notice how I kept completely out of the conversation and just made random funny comments and changing the subject to pancakes? Mhm mhm. *nods*
Fledgling - February 7, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
lol. Of course, debates are sticky matters.
Pancakes on the other hand....English or American, everyone loves em'.
...
...
Except those 'Waffle' lovers, damn them all
Shinobi - February 7, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
Why does everyone act like the Americas had NO history until the Europeans discovered it?
It isn't as though there weren't many other civilzations ont he continents as well.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olmechttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_civilizationhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inca_Empirehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mochehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav%C3%ADn_culturehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norte_Chicohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chibchahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippian_Culturehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AztecAll of them highly developed civilizations BEFORE the time of Columbus. Bit of a nitpick I know...but seriously it seems like people think there wouldn't be ANY people here if it weren't for Columbus.
Fledgling - February 7, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm part Cheeroke(native american), so yeah I'm aware america has history pre columbus. In fact, mayans and incans had an advanced civilization in South America.
It's just that most native american civilizations were wiped out when settlers came in and started to move them off their land.
But thats off topic. I really want to direct this conversation back to waffles. I think something should seriously be done about these 'Waffle Houses'. It's ammoral, is what it is! And besides, I really want to educate myself more about the subject of breakfast foods. How do you make english pancakes?
Also, who the heck came up with sausage wrapped in a pancake on a stick? It keeps me up at night...
Jakazul - February 8, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
...Actually, there's a definite hierarchal system to democracy as well, just not a monarchical... Skip it.
Pancakes you say?
Marx - February 8, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
I'm not completely sure of the full differences, but Lani said she would make some while she's over here so I'll be able to tell if they're really better. <.< And for the record I rather like waffles, French toast is better than all of the above though in my opinion...well...it depends actually on the kind of pancake/waffle. lol And you know, I've never had pigs in a blanket, no clue if it's good or not either.
atlantis - February 8, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
:( I'm sowwy. I didn't mean to start WW3, I guess we just get taught different history. :'(
Marx - February 8, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
Bah, this wasn't an argument. As far as I'm concerned it's not officially an argument unless someone threatens to leave the site over it. ;)
atlantis - February 8, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
on a note to do with the thread, 3 days to go and i've been packed since like Sunday, but i think my suitcases will be over the weight limit :thatguy:
Shinobi - February 8, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
Nah, I didn't really consider it an argument either. Just a slightly tense exchange of views, tainted by overzealous nationalism.
Btw, Rachel, I'm part Cherokee too. Small world eh?
And yes...waffles...good. Although, from what I here the 'waffle house' closest to me is very substandard. I prefer the local IHOP. One of my favorite memories from over there was ordering the Chocolate Chip Pancakes with a Chili Cheese Burger at about 3 AM.
One of my freinds looks at it and says 'Dude, if you aren't diabetic before eating that, you will be after.'
OOOOOOOOH! And also: PUMPKIN PANCAKES! Around Halloween. So good...
And for the weight limit problem Lani, i've got suggestions but a lot of them could get you arrested for things ranging from indecent exposure to felony assault. Depending on England's legal system.
And i'm done rambling...for now! Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn! :D
Marx - February 8, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
lol You always think they'll be over the weight limit. And I don't think I've had chocolate chip pancakes, but as far as IHOP goes, I looooooooooove the butter pecan syrup. it's so good!
