Oh! Totally forgot to make a summary for this one. Um, long story short. The time is 1894. A few people with special abilities were given letters that a Professor J.M. could either help them or pay them for their help in the forms of Jay Andrews(scientist), Patricia Vetinari(detective), John Constantine(occultist), Captain Marvel(superhero), Mal Stapleton(assistant magician), and William Hayes(occultist).

When they finally met up with Prof. J.M., they found out that his plan was to let England fall and reshape what was left into their own empire where they would eventually take over the world. All of them thought he was either crazy or just didn't have the desire to rule the world and to the Professor's annoyance they left. Knowing there might be future Hell to pay for turning him down, they decided to stick together until it was all sorted out, William giving them a shadowported shortcut to Scotland Yard.
