Title: The stars come out tonight!
Description: Well...maybe not the good ones but...

Shinobi - December 28, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
Oooookay, i've described Jay's early times as a 'D-list hero' before, then I got to wondering...many of our characters are original, or are being taken in vastly different directions, or even just minor characters we enjoy.

So, I thought, why not try to arrange the characters as we see them ranking on the usual list.

A
B
C
D

So, some classifications need to be figured out eh?

A-Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan.
These are the characters that get stuff done. The ones you should really just surrender and let yourself go to jail instead of fight.

B-Most heroes below that rank, Nightwing, Robin etc.
Those are the heroes that get things done, but you still have the off chance of beating and/or escaping.

C-Booster Gold etc.
Heroes that...don't always get the job done...alone at least. But that are still respectable.

D-These are the...well...less than compitant heroes...I can't think of any off the top of my head that go here...

So, where do you see your characters???

For me? Well, i'd have to put-

Plastic Man as at least a B list hero, possibly A

Shinobi as probably a C class hero. He's got skills, but he really lacks experience and attitude to raise his class. He's limited in the scope of his ability...

And Jay? Well he's actually described himself before as 'The man you call when Booster Gold is busy.'
When he first shows up, he's got a lack of experience or fine control over his powers, he's idealistic and...well...not very good at what he does. Definetely a D list hero...although I think he's lately shaped up into a C lister at least. Add in his natural powers and intellect, and his recent training binges...maybe even a B list hero?

What about your characters?

Marx - December 28, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Hm, let's see.

Harm- B, I'd say. While his morals are a bit skewed at the moment, I'd definitely say he's Robin level.

Supersonic- C. I do think Super has the ability and power to be a B level hero, but despite his intelligence and all, he just hasn't really reached what the potential of his abilities can do. I'd say he's getting there though. Definitely not the most well known of heroes though.

Doomsboy- Hmm. B. Assuming that you're rating him as a hero of course lol.

Shinobi - December 28, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
Well, until he starts trying to rule the Earth, we'll count Doomsboy as a hero hehehehe.

As far as my character I play....

A-list: Shazam, Static

B-list: Spirit

C-list: Captain Boomerang (II)

As far as the characters I've played....

A-list: Arsenal, Tempest

(oh and an example of a D-list hero would be Blue Devil, who no one takes seriously!!)

Marx - December 28, 2007 01:52 PM (GMT)
lol Really? Have you checked out Blue Devil in Shadowpact. I'd say he's pretty badass actually. Even Etrigan wanted his trident. That's what I love about the Shadowpact actually, they pretty much took a bunch of Borderline C and D level heroes and together they're pretty close to B I'd say. Nightmaster was actually ordering around Superman in an issue. That's just all kinds of awesomeness.

Hm, D list hero. Maybe... Flamebird or Spoiler?

NM Savant - December 28, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
Why does no one like Booster? Booster is teh awesome.

Both John and Jericho are B-List in my opinion.

Marx - December 28, 2007 07:16 PM (GMT)
I was a Booster hater, well not so much a Booster hater as I just wasn't that big of a fan. But dude, the Booster Gold series is making so many amends. Probably one of my favorite monthly titles. So I agree with him being teh awesome.

NM Savant - December 28, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
I always loved Booster.

But yeah the New Series kicks seven degrees of ass. At once. I love Geoff Johns.

kidflash3 - December 29, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
of course Blue devil was treated like a joke! Whenever Kid Devil says he is blue devil's sidekick people usually say "I thought Blue Devil was a sidekick."

Marx - December 29, 2007 01:21 PM (GMT)
Originally maybe lol, but as I said, they've definitely boosted him up since Shadowpact.

And eh, Johns has his moments. I love what he's doing with Booster Gold, I was almost despising him in Teen Titans though lol.

Wonder Girl is an easy one because she's one of the second worlds finest three. So Cassie gets a B.
Secret i would say is more of a C she only ever works in teams i think.
Erin doesn't totally count as a hero but powerwise she would possibly count as a B but in comicbook world she would most likely be used sparingly (unless it was her own comic) Which would make her a C...so she's both i guess.

Shinobi - December 29, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
Mmm, interesting choices.

And I like Booster too. Why is it just because the hero is also funny they can't be treated like a legitimate, compitant hero.

I need to get more of the Booster Gold series though.

And I want a new Plastic Man run too!

And as long as i'm wishing upon a star...seeing Shin or TL get a title, or even APPEAR in a title would be several kinds of badass.

mad-libbs - December 29, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Well since you list Robin and Nightwing as being B-class heroes, I suppose Rose would be a B-class as well, though in my heart she is an A.

As for Shockwave, probably a C-class because she technically is still learning the whole superhero thing. She can manage but does better on teams.

Jakazul - December 30, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
Batman is on a far superior level to Superman.
So I guess I'd have to say the only character I've ever stuck with for more than a day or two is an A+ level, unless there's a letter that comes before A. And if there is, I'm that. :D

Shinobi - December 30, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
Haha, tell ya what Jakey, stick around and we'll invent that new letter for ye?

Marx - December 30, 2007 03:27 AM (GMT)
We shall call it!...Flaflugga!

Shinobi - December 30, 2007 03:39 AM (GMT)
What would it sound like???

I must knooooooooooowwwwwww!

Marx - December 30, 2007 05:50 AM (GMT)
That's the glory of flaflugga...it changes every time you use it. At the moment it sounds like kaplackle. And the symbol for it is the tri-force.

NM Savant - December 30, 2007 06:23 AM (GMT)
ANd it is illegal to wear Pants while saying it.

Shinobi - December 30, 2007 06:26 AM (GMT)
I like this new letter!

NM Savant - December 30, 2007 06:47 AM (GMT)
Unless you are Male or Ugly. In which case it is illegal to not wear pants.

Shinobi - December 30, 2007 07:00 AM (GMT)
Hahahaha, still works for me.

kidflash3 - December 30, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
I shall dub it A+!!!!!!!! B)
