Title: Wrestlemania XXIV Predictions

Marx - March 19, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, figured we have enough Wrestling fans that I could forestall my "New This Week" section and give my predictions for Wrestlemania XXIV. Do note that some of these may change during the next two weeks. But these are how they stand in my mind right now.

Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
WWE Championship
I think this one's straight and to the point in my mind. HHH has got it, hands down. Maaaybe Orton will keep it, but I'm pretty sure Trip's getting the championship again.

Winner: HHH

Edge vs. The Undertaker
World Heavyweight Championship
While there's some very slight doubt in the Triple threat match, there's no doubt whatsoever in this one. If there is someone whose going to take away Undertaker's streak it will not be Edge. No offense to him, I like the guy and all but Undertaker's winning.

Winner: The Undertaker

Mayweather vs. The Big Show
...I don't care. I...honestly don't care. I'll go with Mayweather because he's the celebrity...but I have no desire to see this match. *shrug*

Winner: Floyd Mayweather

Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
Okay, this match I have to think about actually. On one side if there was someone and a place to retire Flair, Shawn Michaels and Wrestlemania would be it. But I'm going with Flair purely because I'd like to think they'd give him one more title run before he retires.

Winner: Ric Flair

John Morrison vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. CM Punk vs. MVP
Money in the Bank
While originally I'd have said Jeff Hardy had this one in the bank, pun intended. You might have noticed he's not on the list anymore due to his suspension...damn junkie. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Jeff Hardy fan but...come on, how many times does this guy need to get a push, have issues and then refuse to go to rehab for them before you just stop caring?(assuming that information is correct of course) In my case...2. Anyway, without Hardy as an option, I'm picking Jericho for the win.

Winner: Chris Jericho
PS: I do actually feel bad about Hardy's house burning down considering he lost all of his memorabilia and his dog and I do wish him the best.

Batista vs. Umaga
Um...this is another one I don't actually care about. They should have made it Cena vs. Batista and kept the WWE Championship between HHH and Orton, and...just thrown Umaga in the Battle Royale or something. Eh, Batista.

Winner: Batista

24-Man Battle Royale
Winner faces ECW Champion
We don't know everybody in it, but I'll keep this short and sweet and go with Kane.

Winner: Kane

Chavo Guerrero vs. ????
ECW Championship
Don't think it really maters, but assuming I'm right and it's Kane that wins, somehow Chavo's keeping it because...well...WWE doesn't want Kane with a title so why change it now? And if I'm wrong about it being Kane...eh, either way I think Chavo's going to win.

Winner: Chavo

Finlay vs. JBL
Bellfast Brawl
Finlay, the whole Finlay and nothing but the Finlay so help me. Just don't see JBL winning this one. I think this match'll either be really cool or really blah. Hoping for the former.

Winner: Finlay

Ashley & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina
This is another one I don't really care about with who wins, for a completely different reason as I'm sure you can figure it out. I'll most likely be happy regardless. But as for the actual wresling, I gotta give it to the faces. They tend to win in these types of matches. Being a Playboy covergirl makes you kinda invincible, wrestling wise.

Winner: Ashley & Maria

You are such a geek.

Marx - March 19, 2008 09:50 AM (GMT)
And proud of it! :D

mad-libbs - March 19, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
damn straight he's a proud geek.
DAMNIT ALL! since my boyfriend will be working on that day, cause they are taking inventory and its mandatory he be there, I dunno where or who with, I'm going to watch it.....I feel weird going to his friends house to watch it and I also don't have the money to pay for it on my own. Argh

Marx - March 27, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Aw, that sucks. I'd offer my house...assuming you could actually get here...and wouldn't mind watching it in the freezing basement(I'm used to it)....

Marx - March 30, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
*is now preparing to kill everyone in or even remotely associated with Verizon Fios for screwing up the PPV...with a trident...and a spoon*

atlantis - March 31, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
I still vote a spork....least i fell asleep while you were on hold....

Marx - March 31, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
lol They had me on hold for 50 minutes, I'd have been surprised if you hadn't been asleep by that time.

While I wasn't able to watch it because of you-know-what, I do in fact have the results, lets see how many I got right.

Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. HHH
World Heavyweight Title
Winner: Randy Orton

Damn, I was sure I had this one right, suppose Trips winning it later.

Edge vs. Undertaker
WWE Title
Winner: Undertaker

Was there ever a doubt, honestly?

Mayweather vs. Big Show
Winner: Mayweather

50 Cent was supposed to be involved in this match...I feel lied to.

Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
Winner: Shawn Micheals

From what I read, this match was totally awesome and it made me shake my fist at my internet provider and want to punch them in the feet for making me miss it. And I had a feeling the way things were going the week before Wrestlemania that Flair was going to lose. Hope he gives a final farewell on Raw...before he returns somehow in a non-wrestling role which I'm sure he will.

John Morrison vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. CM Punk vs. MVP
Money in the Bank
Winner: CM Punk

While I am glad Punk won it, I also get the feeling of back to business as usual as far as Jericho and Heavyweight titles are concerned. At least he has the IC title. Oh and Matt Hardy returned. Woot!

Batista vs. Umaga
Winner: Batista

Um...woo?

24-Man Battle Royale
Winner faces ECW Champion
Winner: Kane

This wasn't televised apparently, but woo for Kane!

Chavo Guerrero vs. Kane
ECW Championship
Winner: Kane

Double Woo! Now they can say that Kane's a 2 time world champion even though since it's the ECW title it doesn't actually count...

Finlay vs. JBL
Bellfast Brawl
Winner: JBL

Hm, that one surprised me...

Ashley & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina
Winner: Beth Phoenix & Melina

Woo! The ones that could actually wrestle won! Yup, that's all I have to say on that.
